Clayton: Hey, guys! How's it going Clayton, here at etrailer.com. Today we have a 2019 Toyota Sequoia. I'll be walking you through how to install and showing you some features of a front mount hitch by Curt.This is what your hitch is going to look like installed. As you can see, it's not a big eyesore underneath the front of the vehicle. Front mount hitches are great for bike racks, cargo carriers, spare tire holders, a small snowplow. And then even when you're parking a trailer, you can pull it into a tighter spot for more maneuverability.This hitch is going to come with a two inch by two inch receiver tube opening.
This is great because it accommodates most hitch mount accessories. As you can see, here's our hitch pin hole. This hitch pin hole accepts standard five-eighths hitch pins. The pin and clip are not included in this kit, but you can find them here at etrailer.com. This pin will secure all of your hitch mount accessories.This hitch is a steel construction, and it's finished in a black powder-coat finish, which is going to hold up well in all weather conditions over time.As far as our measurements are concerned, the measurement from our hitch pin hole to the outermost part of our fascia is nine inches.
This is going to be important for anything that might fold up, so it doesn't make contact with the vehicle. Our measurement from the ground to the inside part of our receiver tube is 12 inches. This is important for ground clearance.As far as our weight capacities are concerned, this hitch is going to have a 500 pound tongue weight, and that is 500 pounds pushing directly down on the inside of our receiver tube. This hitch is going to have a 5,000 pound trailer weight. That's the weight of the trailer and the cargo loaded on the trailer.
Since this is a front mounted hitch, it's going to have a 9,000 pound straight line weight. Keep in mind that that is rolling weight. It's not dragging 9,000 pounds.Now that we've gone over some of the features, let's go over how to get this installed together. To start our installation, we're going to remove our factory tow hook. The instructions say 12 millimeter, but on this particular model it's a 17.
So, we're going to go ahead and loosen these 17 millimeter bolts.Once your tow hooks are removed, it might be a good idea to grab an extra set of hands to help hold the hitch up. We will be putting our tow hooks underneath of our hitch and reinstalling the factory hardware.After getting our hardware loosely installed, I'm going to go back in and tighten it all down.After getting our hardware tightened down, I'm going to go back in and torque it down. The torque specs will be listed in your instructions.After your hardware's torqued down, you're good to go. That's going to do it for a look at and installation of the Curt front mount trailer hitch on a '19 Toyota Sequoia..
