Our resident Patch-Master Lucas takes you on a deeper dive of some more of BAM’s features.
In the video Lucas is using an iPad running BAM, but don’t worry, you can keep up to speed with everything going on thanks to Lucas' commentary and also there’s a handy mouse pointer on the iPad to help.
In this video Lucas is building another groove from scratch, starting with a sampled kick from the extensive factory bank.Then he builds up the beat as we get a look at the analogue modelled 808 Hi-Hat, joined by one of our fantastic acoustic sampled snares.
Check out the easy built-in reverb editing using the send functionality, and Lucas further fine tuning the reverb with BAM’s parametric EQ FX. Then we get musical with everyone’s favourite virtual analog emulation polyphonic synth ‘DRC’ in AUv3 form, laying down a funky bass line in no time!
There’s a great little handy Sampler tip from Lucas regarding switching up the sample number in real time to create our conga jam in a single instance of Sampler - very useful!
Have you worked out why our acid synth is called “Hofmann” yet? - Just a little reference that makes all of Team Imaginando smile :D There’s some sweet modulation action going on - and Lucas keeps everything under control once again with the built-in BAM compressor, and it’s ‘style’ parameter.

I had a thought... If you could add the ability for BAM to auto recognise when you load an instance of DRC or FRMS to a track and auto map "jammable" parameters like Cutoff, Res, Env Amount, ADSR Decay, Reverb Send, etc to the BAM Rack interface that would be a big win for fans of your products :)

@@Taeodoestech I’m not sure we do. I’d say Drambo is more comparable to the Octatrack. BAM looks intentionally focused. Two quite different approaches.

Tried the demo, two days later I bought it. It looks great, works well and is a good compromise between functionality and ease of use. The developers are very responsive and might invite you to beta test if you contact them.

Pretty nice. This has a lot of the aspects that remind me of Korg Gadget but without being limited by their instruments. The one thing I might want is the piano roll could use some marks like the lowest/highest note to quickly see where you are in the pitch range.

Nice little iOS DAW/groovebox. Definitely intertested. Reminds me a little of Nanostudio 2. But hopefully once released you guys will keep supporting it and releasing preset packs etc

5:27 the AUv3 panel is so empty, maybe add the option to have four/six knobs there that can be mapped to values of the plugin? Other apps like SAND Sequencer do it like that. Or an XY performance pad that controls two values!

Can I drag and drop audio files from the Files app into BAM (Midi files too?)?

Very interested in this. Loved LIVKONTROL Pro and LK.. Could a Launchpad X or similar be hooked up to the iPad and kept in sync with the clip launch screen, allowing the triggering of clips from the launchpad? Good luck on the launch :)
We haven't been tesing that but the answer is yes, as the song engine is the same as in LK but with improvements under the hood.
Is BAM can follow an external midi clock ? Is it possible to start scenes from a midi message ? Can I drive mute volume pan etc from launchcontrol xl? Thanks for all! Nice job!
BAM can use external MIDI clock yes. It's not possible to start scene from MIDI message currently. Parameter controls like volume and pan can be mapped and controlled by hardware controllers.
Is there a way to use audio loops, eg breakbeats, either pitching them or time-stretching them to fit the tempo?

Gorgeous ... Love the synthesised drums... ‼ But did not see any probability parameterS yet..for continuously changing drum patterns etc. Also... it has to have some smart randomisation , for a quick 'ballpark' creation of patterns. Plotting out notes is really really boring.

Thanks for the pre-order! We don't have any current plans to carry out the necessary refactoring of screen real estate to make BAM truly a great (and productive!) experience on iPhone sized devices. If this changes, you can be sure we'll let everyone know ;)

Can you loop audio into it? Or is it all MIDI / sampler based?
BAM does include a built in recorder which can record internal and external sources.
i found that lot of ipados daws dont really focus on capturing audio and live instruments in general, this video lacks this features as well. Also making odd time signatures and drum rolls are often tedious process if possible at all.
BAM has audio in engine for processing live audio input. Odd time signatures are no problem thanks to BAM's step sequencer and ability to manage clips with different lengths and time signatures.
I have two thoughts. Firstly, this DAW for iOS is undeniably cool. However, secondly, I'm a PC user with an Android device, so it was probably a mistake to pre-order this product since I already have Ableton working well. I think I misunderstood what kind of product it was.
BAM is available for desktop as well. It will be available as standalone and plugin formats.

@@sonomute The answer is: no! This is a different product for users on Windows/Android and users on iOS. We PC guys pay it (much) more and it has fewer possibilities, this is not really something fair. For example, I have all Imaginando products but can't use DRC inside BAM because I'm not an Apple user. Cool.

Yes, you can export in several ways. Single track, single scene.

Not yet, but it will surely be possible in the future.
Is it able to import screen recordings and convert them into audio files?
BAM cannot convert videos to audio, sorry no.
Can I record an electric guitar direct into BAM ?
There is a built in recorder. Have you seen it? You can download the desktop demo at any time.
Can you play in an open ended sequence of notes without having a pre determined length? Like with drambo? Deciding when to end the loop on the fly?

Hi there!
1. BAM has a three vertically stacked sections. The piano roll lives in the middle section - you can hide the upper and lower sections, so that effectively piano roll gets most of the screen :)

4. Sadly not right now, no. An audio time-stretcher instrument/engine was initially planned for BAM, so it could be implemented in the future.

I can't recording chord with DRC , why?
Hi there, the chorder pads inside DRC plugin don't send the MIDI data to BAM, they just play the synth, sorry.

@@ImaginandoPt I tried it, but I'm not satisfied: no VST support, only 3 slots for effects, no limiter, and the Matrix part doesn't allow you to play overlapping patterns but only in "row"! A rubbish

Pretty unlikely, most audio apps don't get optimised for android.

No Android? DRC is the only worth synth in Android, sad this groovebox didn't make it.
Sadly not. Thank you very much for your kind words about DRC on Android, but alas as an OS, it lacks behind Apple's amazing audio and music production infrastructure, sorry :(
