Fantastic guy's coming from a UK modeler for over forty years And only ever building from planes this is what our hobby is about. NOT R.T.F and Fomies toys off the internet. That's not modeling. Well done guy's
It was always my favorite airplane. As a kid I built the Skip Volk and Art Schrol versions. I flew an RF Midwest foam version for years. But all nothing to the beauty that you created. Great video. Thank you for the memories.
Fantastic great to see a beautiful model like that Built from plans and flown to a great standard. IV BUILT FROM PLANS ALL MY 45 YEARS OF MODELING. JUST GET FED UP WITH ALL THESE R.T.F. models . WELL DONE YOU ARE A CREDIT TO THE HOBBY.
I have built planes from plans. It is a great experience. Now, however, changes in eyesight and patience levels mean that I fly arfs. Whatever allows a person to enjoy the hobby is good. Do remember that back in the 50s an 60s, there were folks who looked down on people who didn't build their own transmitter. So, chill out. Unless, of course, someone is making you fly ARFs. Which I doubt is the case.
It's great seeing the building process you making the canopy and cowl. How did you exhaust the hot air from the engine? It's well done as I can't see it. From the UK
Amazing plane, congratulations! In the 90’s I had one from Carl Goldberg Models, much smaller off course, I painted it with the same original schema but using the 🇧🇷 Brazilian flag colors, I replaced the white by yellow and the red by green, it was very beautiful and original! Powered by an Italian Super Tigre .90. I lost it flying in the rain, the radio died… 🙄
@@RCPMK I had a total of three Chipmunks. I had two of the Art Schrol versions and one Skip Volk. I remember that I got one for Christmas, I think it was 1979. About a 58" wingspan. It was the Skip Volk version, and I think it was by Goldberg. I had a center 1/2 inch profile fuselage center, with two half plastic shells that formed the fuselage. I used an O.S. 60 for power. As I mentioned above, one was a foamy Midwest version, with a 0.19 Enya engine on it. The last was a .45 version, but I forget who made it. I wish there was a true all balsa wood kit, for an 0.80 size engine. Would love to build one of those. Aykut, your building skills are wonderful. The Wright Brothers would have loved to have you in their workshop. Mano
