- Rehearsal images and footage have been released for ''Beauty and the Beast'' as the Disney show prepares to premiere as a new production in Bristol.
Led by Courtney Stapleton and Emmanuel Kojo in the titular roles, the show will initially play at Bristol Hippodrome from 25 August.
Also in the show are Tom Senior as Gaston, Gavin Lee as Lumiere and Sam Bailey as Mrs Potts. The role of Wardrobe will be played by Samantha Bingley, Babette by Emma Caffrey, Le Fou by Louis Stockil, Maurice by Martin Ball, Cogsworth by Nigel Richards and Chip by Joshua Smith/Theo Querico/Manasseh Mapira/Rojae Simpson/Iesa Miller.
I saw Courtney in six the musical, she was a swing and she was amazing had lots of energy and put everything into which ever queen she was playing at the time. I think she will make a fantastic belle I wish her and the rest of the cast lots of luck and best wishes.

Alyn Hawke is incredible covering Prince Henri/Beast,Lumiere,Gaston and four tracks in ensemble! What an amazing human being I just love him. Such an amazing talent!
I feel like Gavin lee taps in every show I've seen him in..his tap number in Mary Poppins, step in time was epic

Prince Sebastian is also black/mix race in Cinderella and Heather Brown is always played by a black woman here in the UK. Lucas in The Addams Family musical us also none white

The costumes are designed by Ann Hould-Ward who designed the original Broadway production. I have no doubt it'll be a beautiful gown, unlike the disappointment from the Live Action version.

I met Courtney at Dear Evan Hansen back in late 2019 and she is absolutely lovely and so friendly! The perfect Belle
No disrespect to her talent but she only got this role because of her skin colour to tick a box

And I know for a fact that they wouldn’t cast someone just based on skin color. They do it on talent and who they think would best fit the role. Not on skin color. Also, from what videos I’ve seen, Courtney is a great actress.
Now why don’t you keep your hateful comments to yourself. Next time, just keep it in your head. And keep in mind, the person herself could see your message. And sure, one message won’t mean much, but if more and more people say this or the same people keep putting comments like this everywhere, then in can really affect the person. Hateful comments like these can hurt people emotionally and sometimes make them hurt themselves physically.
Anyways, what I’m basically saying is keep your hateful comments to yourself and don’t judge other people based on skin tone or other things like that.

Super excited I’m going to see this in Liverpool for my mums birthday in September. Beauty and the beast is one of my favourites and so happy it’s been brought back to the stage the cast looks amazing as does the choreography

This ensemble had a short amount by the numbers (16 instead of 20-24), but they gave off Hamilton ensemble vibes! And the turntable... just, wow.

Probably gonna get a lot of hate for this, criticized, canceled etc. but has anyone else been noticing how it’s always movies and shows with a brown girl and a white guy but rarely a brown guy with a white girl? When are we going to start seeing more movies and shows with brown guys with white girls???
Actually, it's more common the other way round. Especially given black men are much more likely to date/marry outside their race than black women are. And then there's the unfortunate truth that black women are generally (but not always) seen as the least desirable race of women amongst white men.
And besides, here, you've got a dark skinned black man with a light skinned black girl so I don't see your point. In the Frozen musical, Kristoff is usually cast as black and Anna as white. So you can check that out if you want.
