    27:00 So cool to see the train racing the road traffic on M1. It's even better when I watch the video at 2x play speed, LOL!

    Not gonna lie, the FULL section between Dandenong and the City…they absolutely need a third track. I saw you slowing down at so many yellows after Pakenham, and you making no stops (not even Noble Park) - the vLine needs a track that like in New York that will allow faster/express trains to shoot by the “locals”.
    Don’t get me wrong, the level crossing removals are great but man, Gov of Vic needed someone like Andy Byford to be like “uh uh uh, no Dan, build the bloody third track. Don’t be slack, especially if Southeast Melbourne is still growing!”

    • @driver667
      @driver667  9 месяцев назад +1

      It would've been nice but there was so much political opposition to just 2 tracks in the air at the time that I think 3 tracks wide in the air would've been politically very hard with the extra compulsory buying back of people's houses. What's the point in honking 2 seconds before you hit the crossings? It's way too late and you're just making needless noise when you're that close. If anyone's in the crossing at that point you'll run through them before they hear the horn - they don't have enough time to get out of the way and you can't stop in time, so you're just sounding the horn to no one's benefit.

    • @driver667
      @driver667  Год назад +1

      You might think that from sitting watching on the screen but it is a different story actually in the situation. You will notice that it is not just at the crossing but back a distance before the crossing also that it is sounded. It's one thing to see it from the lounge room but another to see it from the cab with the full perspective of being on location.
