Thank you for Dreamcatcher’s reaction. I recommend you the dystopian series (Scream, BOCA, Odd Eye) from Dreamcatcher. This series is about hate messages and cyberbullying.
Dreamcatcher is the best girl group ever in so many ways & I've been a Kpop fan for a long time. They should be listen to everywhere. Their live performance are the best & all of them can be main vocalist in other groups while their b-sides would be other groups' title tracks!
Welcome to the Dreamworld! Dreamcatcher are very unique. They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who consistently incorporate Rock and Metal in their title tracks, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip out your spine when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉 "Bon Voyage" is the 3rd and final part of the Apocalypse trilogy, which is about the destruction of the environment by humanity. The members have mentioned that it is about giving nature a break. Any encounter between human beings always has separation attached to it as well, just as death is a part of life. SuA also said that the fluffy floating thing that Dami summons from her painting is a cell, representing nature. It has been named "Celly" and is adorable, right? My dark mind believes that they are saying "Have a good trip" to humanity, since we are well on our way of wiping ourselves out. It's like a breakup between humanity and the earth. Once humanity is gone, nature gets the break it needs and the circle will begin again. For me, the key to understanding the lyrics is that they are singing as human beings, not as a single person. And they are singing to nature, confessing their love and the realization that we are not good for nature and that it probably resents us. It could also be the other way round (them singing as mother nature to humanity). SuA jumping out after the dove seem to represent their desire for peace. The story of the MV seems to be that the rest of humanity has sheltered away under force fields after the apocalypse. This gives nature time to heal. Musically I can already say this is one of their best songs for me. The chorus slaps hard, and the variations between heavy and slow are just beautiful. It has emotion and impact at the same time. Putting JiU's sweet voice together with an acoustic guitar is simply genius.
Thanks for checking out Dreamcatcher's Bonvoyage! Dreamcatcher always incorporate rock & metal elements in their title tracks but their b-sides span dozens of genres including Jazz, EDM, Rock, Pop, Funk, Reggae, and much more. Bonvoyage is the final track in their Apocalypse trilogy which talks about some of the existential crises that affect humanity, specifically climate change and war. Bonvoyage can be interpreted as telling someone you love goodbye even though you want to hang on but in the context of the Apocalypse story line it's a message from humanity to earth as they leave to let mother nature heal from the damage that we've caused. Here are a few recommendations for other DC songs since it sounds like the ones you've heard are from their newer releases. Scream - This is the first part of their Dystopia Trilogy. Red Sun Special Clip - This is a b-side and has 0 rock influences Piri - This is the second to last song in their Nightmare Series Wonderland - B-side Wind Blows Play Color performance - b-side.
They have an English version for this song btw. Their title tracks are more towards rock, metal sound, but they can literally do any genre on their b-sides & they are all great. DC has no bad songs. There aren't many groups I can confidently say that. Most importantly, they have so much vocal talent in the group that they always switch each other's versus in their songs if you haven't noticed with this one. React more to their songs & I may subscribe. You won't regret. Start with all their title tracks first & then go through all the b-sides, they are really great and I can guarantee you will gain a lot of subs if that's what you are shooting for and you will also gain a favor group to stand for.
Thank you for giving Dreamcatcher a look! ^_^ If you'd like to see a different sound from them I would suggest checking out their dance video for their song "Demian" which is a bside from the same album as Bonvoyage.
