    I don't knew how long I've had my $300 chair, kinda like the Om Affirm, though maybe less options (especially how I bought it), and decent but not as thick seat. My chair outlasted the store I bought it at. I'm honestly shocked the mesh isn't saggy, it's been near over a decade. I don't actually know what make, model it is. I'm Thankful it's still going strong.

    9month ago: Thank you guys, I bought t50 air in korea by looking your videos. I really like it, in my opinion it’s really good quality for this price. Also I loved its lumbar support, and it has so high adjustability, that it really feels. Im 188cm man, and I can say that even people higher than me could use this chair.
    Now: Actually now I don’t like it so much . Lumbar is good, but it always runs away and change its position. The headrest is awful, I can feel it only when I completely lye on it. And defiantly arms place should be softer. The decline is bad, especially when you want to be closer to monitor and keyboard, chair will always be behind and it just doesn’t go so much, the starting position when it will hold your back is mb 110.
    What I like is mash, that you can move and adopt it. But cons outweigh pros. But anyway its better than usual one

    Just tried out the OM Affirm in a store & LOVED the seat! Flat (don’t like contour) and comfy with support. Feels like I sink in partway and am suspended. Lumbar is comfy but Wish the ratchet back had more settings because I don’t know if I can get it to match up with my back. Love the custom options though!

    Alright I'm trying to figure out if I should go for the Haworth Soji or a refurb no return Amia from your store, I've never used a real office chair before so I'm not sure how I'm going to react to firmer vs softer seats or mesh, although I do have a very sensitive tailbone. I want to use it to both do work but also lounge and play games, put my feet up. Any suggestions?

      Both are really good options. If you’re worried and think the Amia is it, I’d get our standard refurb with free returns. The Soji will have a cooler back, but more firm seat. The Amia has a supportive padded back, with a more comfortable seat IMO. I’ve sat in both quite a bit, but prefer the Amia -GK

    Surprising that you didn't include the Clatina, as it's better than all these "higher" priced chairs. You had it as a top pick for under $300 chairs. It's got a headrest. Better, taller back support for taller people. And my personal preference is the completely fabric upholstery. So for a chair that is way less than these chairs, you should have include it.

      rule of thumb: you don't want ANY chair that has a big cylindrical tension adjustment under the seat, facing downwards. This is a sign that it's just another cheap, mass-produced mechanism. The recline actuation is usually the most important feature along with backrest and seat comfort. Most chairs that have this cylinder also have very poor quality on the other two.

    @BTODtv ... Obviously, you don't sell lights, speakers, and monitors. :-p All three are of poor design and or placement, such as the tilt/height of your monitor relative to your eye level, with a light shining on the screen. Since you try to help people, so I will try to help you.
    Monitor:
    Raise it so the center is perpendicular to your eye level, centered;
    tilt is so it is flat relative to your face;
    if your desk is level and your monitor height is adjusted properly relative to your eyes/view, then just use the corner/edges of the walls where they meet to align the side of the monitor even with that.
    Lights:
    move the light on top of your monitor back so that none of the light shines on the screen; (that may take some ingenuity);
    tilt it back enough so you cannot see the light (or it is minimal) but it will still put light on the desk in front of you;
    (that should reduce eye strain by having less light directly in your eyes, and you should be able to turn your monitor brightness lower);
    get rid of the lights on your left and right; also, you can get rid of the light on top of your monitor;
    acquire/buy two stand lights, such as what photographers use;
    put both at your shoulder (or head) level;
    place one near the left wall, directly to your side;
    (the distance is up to you, depending on trial and error for placement, I.E, your preference);
    place the other at the same distance on your right.
    You may find lights you like with filters (and shields). That would be a good choice because you can soften the light (and block the light from the monitor screen). Or, just make sure you are comfortable with the bulb you choose/buy. The bulb needs to be low enough wattage so as to not cause much heat/glare, or use LEDs. With such a setup you may turn off every other light in the room. The light/glare on the monitor should be less than your current setup. Plus, you have no light shining directly into your eyes.
    Additional notes regarding lights:
    you can use soft LEDs, such as small work lights, mounted on a stand, and that will be less expensive;
    if you sometimes use only the light mounted on your monitor in a dark room, the previously referenced adjustment applies.
    Speakers:
    if you still use that same desk - I am assuming you are using a room at your home in this video - move the speakers to the far edges;
    you can try two things;
    _because of the wall on the left and the right side is open;_
    both speakers pointing at your side/s, but the opposite side; (the sound will cross);
    both speakers pointing at your side/s relative to their left/right orientation; (the left will point to your left side, etc).
    If your hearing is equal on both sides, I suggest the latter. But, because the sides are different, you may like the former. If you play games, and since you have a 2.1 sound system, you will want to hear which side speaker setup allows you to distinguish sound/s behind the character the best.
    Move your subwoofer to the back of your monitor. You can try this temporarily with some form of stand, box, or anything to see how it sounds in conjunction with your speakers. I believe you will be presently surprised. (You will probably need to make sound adjustments. And, it will sound better when it is actually mounted.) Because of the material on the back wall, (or is there a window behind that), if you keep the new placement, you will have to cut a section out to fit/mount the subwoofer... or not.
    The immediate above should allow you to reduce sound volume, saving your ears over the long run.
    That's it, just some basics. You know about back support, etc. You will thank yourself in the future regarding your eyesight and hearing.
    *TY for the video.*

    • @cldpt
      @cldpt 2 года назад

      they do make them: stool models, sometimes also called draughtsman or drawing models will be supplied with not only higher cylinders, but also circular footrests. The footrest is only really necessary for chairs when you can't configure chair heights that allow reaching the ground with your feet. The reason why you likely (probably like me) can't reach the ground on your setup and want this feature on standard chairs, is because your legs are too short OR your desk is too tall, forcing you to raise the chair higher so the armrests can accomodate correct typing position. The easiest solution for this is to get a footrest (adjustable is better). An even better solution, yet more expensive is to get a height-adjustable desk that goes low. Most standing desks that have motors to adjust will allow this.

    With all due respect, these chair reviewers have sat in the best of the best chairs and are probably comparing your avg joe chair to them. There's not a single chair that doesn't have a complaint about that just urges you to buy the next level up, so on and so forth the more you watch these reviews. Honestly, it's the content on the computer that frustrates me which then leads to uncomfortableness in the chair sometimes. My advice is not to get your mind too occupied with the chair itself in which these reviews make you do for no reason and just enjoy whatever your doing on the computer.
