The Doux Mousse is my absolute favorite mousse to use for my wash and go’s. I’ve used it for the last 3 or 4 years and I don’t use anything else with it. It’s also great for perm rods and flex rod sets
I love that mousse! I use the Kinky Curly Knot Today and then the mousse, it leaves my hair super defined and moisturized for days! My new go to combo!

I am a mousse wash and go girl!!!! I prefer that over gel which dries my hair out and cause breakage. I use Design Essential Almond and Avocado line mousse. It's excellent for curl definition and for sealing in the moisture of my wash day!!!!! My stylist recommended it to me last year. **disclaimer** for me, it's a light hold and everything falls apart when the weather is super humid.
I would recommend watching her videos about how to apply; you definitely won’t get the expected results with all of the oils and cream you applied. It’s a leave-in, mousse, everything all in one. That aloe Vera spray you applied, all of that will impact the performance.
i recommend using it alone because it has humectants built in. The creator of the product has gone to great lengths to teach and demonstrate this. She's also a licensed stylist with 30yrs under her belt. Hope you consider trying the mousse alone. It does not disappoint.

In addition to this comment.Yes. Maya purposely formulated all of her products to not be use with raw butters and oils or hair that has build up. She did this because her clients wanted simple one and done hair care products and she wants her clients to get their moisture from their shampoo step. Maya has stated that no styling product can moisturize your hair. You need to shampoo to get moisture because that is shampoo's job. I could tell in this video that the mousse was not adhering to the hair. The frizz is mostly due to what was added underneath it. Mousse Deff actually makes for a fast air dry if used alone.
I just tapped into using mousse for my WNGs and I love it! I've never used gel, only leave-in, cream/butter, and oil. The drying took for ever!!! With mousse, my hair is dry in a few hours. I typically use a diffuser to dry the roots and stretch it a bit. Mousse has been a game changer. 🙌🏾
My go to is to use a botanical gel followed by a foam! It always gives me a long lasting (week long) wash and go! I also love a foam for my twists and braids. It gives me the perfect hold of twist/braid outs!

I like Design Essentials Almond & Avocado mouse. I especially like that it comes in a refill size. It provides definition, leaves hair light but not too dry or hard. I don’t layer it with anything, but will try it with your products. I do braid outs though, still haven’t mastered the wash n go.
I love their mousse! the creator says not to use oil with it. Could have to do with possibly changing the level of hold. I cannot wait for your deep conditioner I was literally looking for a good one because I’ve been using Aussie moist for years but I’m like I know there’s better out there!
Your right. The packaging clearly says to not use oil. so one really can't say the product doesn't work if they're not using as stated, ive learned products works best when used as directed. this is actually a good product.

Same. When I was transitioning she was one my inspirations as well. To support, I ordered two also. I do that in case I like the product. I started making natural products as well. I find when I buy store bought, they don’t hit the same. I haven’t used Melanin Hair Care yet, so this statement doesn’t apply to this brand.
I just tried that mousse a month ago to do a wash and go but their video said not to use any products on your hair. I'm glad to see your video and how yours turned out so I'll definitely give it another try once I restock my melanin hair care products
Hi Whitney! Your hair came out great. 🥰 I have always used The Doux mousse def! It keeps your hair so soft with definition and mobility. My suggestion would be to take smaller sections or use more Doux because your hair is so thick. I also use a diffuser to elongate my hair and that leaves little to no frizz. The Doux is also black owned, which, I love. 💜 Adding your products with it just makes it that much better. 🥰 I was so sad to hear the deep conditioner is delayed. Me and my daughter are so looking forward to using your new product! End of July seems like next year 😫but, I’ll wait patiently-ish! 😆😆😆 Oh! One last thing…the green tea suggestion for less shedding seems to be working good. Thanks for the tip! 💜
I really like the mousse def for my WnG. It works just fine for me as a one-and-done with nothing under it. IDK for sure, but I think using a butter and an oil under the foam will cause a much softer hold from the foam. Sometimes I use it over gel to get a faster drying WnG.💜
I love how your hair turned out. It looks great. I love that doux mousse in my hair because it gives it volume, which I think most mousses are designed to do. Ive always known from an early age I had finer less dense hair so I used mousse for slick backs, and roller sets always (when relaxed). Now as a natural for twist outs and wng’s but it was always Pantene’s until I found out about The Doux-now that’s the only one I use. The hype over it is very warranted imo 😂. TFS.
Hey there I can’t wait to try DC. I’m a little over 1 1/2 years natural I got my first curly cut last month at a salon outside of the Atlanta, GA area. She used a Design Essentials foam with Uncle Funkys Daughter gel. My hair was so 🔥🔥🔥. My coils look like she had finger coiled each curl individually. It made me stop obsessing over “how fast can I get my hair to grow”, because I’m a VIP member of team shrinkage!!! Now I still want hai down my back OF COURSE, but I’m more tolerant now because I saw how beautiful my coils can be. Now for me to figure how to get my technique game up about 5-6 levels 😳. She used really small sections and told me that is what I must do to achieve MY best Wash n Go. I need to add some of your oil to my product stash. Love ya Giiiirl keep bringing that good good 💖

I really enjoy how light and airy a mousse usually makes my hair feel versus gel, but gel is always good to have for definition. Right now, I love Definition 3N Defining Mousse, but I have the Doux mousse on deck! My hair stylist loves to use it too. P.S. Your makeup looks amazing!
I like the Mielle Organics Pomegranate & Honey Curl Defining Mousse with Hold. It is so moisturizing for my 4c hair. I layer it with the Leave-in and the Twisting Souffle from the same line after washing with the line's shampoo & conditioner. Moisture on top of moisture!!!
😍😍 It looks great! .... I recently used this brand for my wash and go. I started w/ their co wash, and didn’t use any oil. I did use a leave in mist before applying the mousse. I ended up with day 4 hair on day 1. Its good for a quick wash when you have somewhere to go and want big hair right away. I’d prefer a little more hold. I’m going to try this mousse with a twist out next time around 🤞🏾
The directions on the bottle state NOT to use oil on the hair before applying the mousse. Interested to see how it comes out without oil added beforehand. I think oil messes up the formulation, not sure.
Yep because the mousse can’t do much with the oil creating a barrier on top of the hair strands, so not getting as much definition and hold as she could’ve had

Honestly the best results are a botanical gel and then the foam on top then under the dryer. Without the other products underneath it’ll set perfectly and last longer. But your set looks beautiful

I’ve been noticing some breakage at the top of my head lately and I think it may be from how I’m banding I’m going to try what you did with “pineappling” the upper half and banding the bottom. My favorite moisturizing mousse is Carol's Daughter wash delight mousse. It's my favorite because it smells so fresh like a waterfall. It's very moisturizing, contains aloe vera as a top ingredient and a lil goes a long way.

Hey napural, if you go to the creator of the moose channel she breaks down how important it is to use the product as she suggests and she says not to use oils underneath the moose because the moose already has everything that it needs and I find that to be true I loved her products and I love your products as well but I don’t use them together.

What about moisture? My hair is very dry with no buttercreme under Mousse or Gel

Glad I watched this - more so to see how you are stretching your hair. I’ve been noticing some breakage at the top of my head lately and I think it may be from how I’m banding I’m going to try what you did with “pineappling” the upper half and banding the bottom.
Also - try Camille Rose’s honey & nettles curl foam - love it!!!

Loved watching this. The only thing is with your density hair, I would have used a lot more mousse. I've used The Doux and found that more is more.

Looks good. I find that this foam works better when my hair is damp and sitting under the dryer for 15-20 minutes.

My favorite moisturizing mousse is Carol's Daughter wash delight mousse. It's my favorite because it smells so fresh like a waterfall. It's very moisturizing, contains aloe vera as a top ingredient and a lil goes a long way.

Hey napural, if you go to the creator of the moose channel she breaks down how important it is to use the product as she suggests and she says not to use oils underneath the moose because the moose already has everything that it needs and I find that to be true I loved her products and I love your products as well but I don’t use them together.

When I looked at a few videos people mainly say to not use anything else with this mousse, but I might try this way, because I really do NOT want to use it alone…my hair is really dry so I’ll need some added moisture.
