This song is about the late, great SHANNON HOON.
So sad :(
I have a rare CD of a show from The Book Of Shadows tour in Osaka Japan where for the 1st and only time Zakk sang "....and Shanon u just left me with nothing to say" instead of "u just left me with nothing to say" it broke my heart and gave me goose bumps hearing that. Zakk nearly lost his composure singing that. It comes through loud and clear. Still gives me chills to this day.
Shannon was living with Zakk at the time. The day Zakk left for his Pride And Glory tour was the last time he saw and spoke to Shannon. Shannon OD'd shortly after. He spoke about Shannon once and said he was inconsolable when word got him that Shannon died and knew instantly he OD'd. The only way he could be consoled was by writing this song. Its a great but very sad tribute to Shannon Hoon.
Such a powerful song! Zakk's voice grabs at something. It's like a hook, it stops you in your tracks to listen. Beautiful and heartfelt always.
