I don't know if it's me, but I'm already noticing a recent trend where some of the new units are also getting DR from the first two brave hits. I wonder if they are setting a precedent next year by indirectly nerfing brave weapons and TA/DS.
The first attack counting for the first and second attack with brave weapons is an old effect tho, but with powercreep it can become more and more common

Datamine also revealed DC-Melee for sword axe and lance units in the middle of all this
I imagine that there will be many, MANY builds updated to accommodate for this, and that DC+Vantage will see a pretty big comeback with Valentia Palla and Brave Marth being able to run real A-skills now
Plus it means I get to build No Quarter Ares now which is gonna be a ton of fun for PvE stuff

Hell yeah, Ares was my first +10 unit god knows how long ago but he fell off not too long later, would be nice to be able to use him again.
Maybe. Vantage units still have a hard time with hardy bearing, or just the sheer amount of damage reduction many cav units get when they initiate combat. My +2 Fallen Byleth used to clear over 50% of AR maps but now I run almost all player phase. Winter Byleth is the only unit with reliable bulk to tank, kill and survive on a failed kill but that DC seal would be pointless on them. This is from my Vault of Heaven experience. Lower level play I could imagine seeing a surge in vantage however.
Great analysis as always. That duo unit had me confused but all I knew was that they're utterly broken. I really wonder how much we'll be seeing her in the future with all these powerful units releasing recently

They really wanna take the powercreep to another level, i see this banner more as a support type, but this units are really good, still thinking if im gonna pull because since the awakening banner i been having the worst of luck.

I am in 1 way triggered about Heiđr getting new alt but not only that she is so damn cute that I cant resist the summon but I don't really wanna summon for that I must uphold my loyalty to Dimitri and + it would be poor for a F2P player to ditch a progressed summoned banner and not go all the way to spark I can't let them give L!Dimitri a HoF opportunity and I have no forma for it...that would destroy me completely so I will stick to a progress rather than waste it + the only unit I really insanely adore and want is duo Heiđr even tho it's Seiđr lol but I just want that character for Heiđr because I'm a fan of her even tho now my actually favorite OC unit is Ratatoskr easily because she is my favorite animal and is actually very very cute
The new beast A skill is really the only thing i want with maybe 1 kana for his weapon. It makes its so mt selkies aren't reliant on nah for accel and I've been thinking of a funny def team with Nailah and this would make that easier.
It also is a branch of atk/sps solo 3 so it's way easier to inherit, its just unfortunate it's the only thing my selkies are getting because they already have spd smoke.
I really wish it didn't offer healing, so I could use it for galeforce personally, but who knows maybe we can get a beast special and it will sky rocket in value
I'm personally really excited for Dragon's Stone on Sothis! She can't run Arcane Grima because then she can't use Sirius, and Dragon's Stone's effects compliment what she's trying to do way better than Sublime Surge's terrible refine. She still won't be that good, but if she can be slightly annoying to kill on AR-D, I'll be happy!
I personally feel they scaled back the powercreep quite a bit in this banner compared to Xmas banner (thank goodness). I think D!Seidr is powerful but not broken vs today's units and don't think she will be as impactful as she seems. Obviously I could be wrong, and I'm curious to see where she lands :) I think W!Edel on the other hand will stay around for quite a long while & is absolutely broken for AR-O.
I'm gonna try to get the new years units.... later. I'm a F2P player so the winter banner just seems like a better idea since it has the guarantees. Aaand then there's camilla. I don't care that she's good, the first 5 star units I ever got were the free brave units Brave lysithea and Brave Camilla. I have been attached to the characters ever since. I'm kinda obligated to get her at this point. My resourses are gonna dry up after that.

FEH is going to quickly devolve into a game of pre-combat damage and ended turns...maybe affinity autobattles was a peek into what it will be like to play the game in the near future? I hope to pick up a Kana but I don't foresee myself spending orbs on this one!
Corrin waited for years but now his daughter can join him for New Years as a Grail unit just like him. That aside the book 7 ocs failed to make any impact on me and none of this fodder looks great so I look forwards to the orbs this banner and TT will get me so I can try to get my fodder copy of No Quarter to put onto Rearmed Lucina
I used to go in and out of the vault in AR. For the last year or so I just stopped and now I hang in tier 21. This just sounds like "yeah don't go back" lol.
And of course on top of it they reverse-powercrept the fucking NY bundles to not give one of the banner units anymore. Have fun with this old summer Edel that just got btfo by her winter variant instead!

Duo thorr really just keeps gaining value. The only problem being her button. It's once ever however, to be fair in SD that one time can be the difference between a win and a loss.
Can I ask you a question? I came back earlier this year, and started dumping a lot of orbs into different banners(not f2p). Since I’ve been busy, I haven’t really foddered skills around, and when I had in mind to do so, attuned skills came out, giving me an idea that IS MIGHT increase skill inheritance slot into 5. Do you think IS may increase skill inheritance in the upcoming feh anniversary? Or should I massive fodder skills around now? What would you do if you were me?
It's difficult to say tbh. I personally held out last year for a quite awhile but it didnt happen. You might as well wait the 1 month+ to see if they announce it at the anniversary
I was wondering if was the only one that noticed how broken this Seior was im sooo annoyed that she's being added to the game because she also limits the types of nukes that you can use on defense because of the res check making the pool of useable nukes even smaller

Probably just me nitpicking, but I really dislike it how they make an admittedly very unique skill effect, like Duo Seidr (and base Heidr too) and her effect that's based off of what turn it is, and then at the end just give it some piss easy condition that can be used to just make the damn thing entirely pointless. Like why even have the whole description about turn 2 this, turn 3 that if all it needs is a buff on yourself or debuff on the enemy that procs every single turn to basically activate the entire thing.
A unit that becomes more powerful as time goes on to use as an ace in the hole sounds so cool but then they do this...
100%. It's like here is a lot of powerful effects that you need to play around, oh wait just have it for free

Overall the winter banner is more powerful. There are 4 meta units there. While I think only Duo Seidr will make an impact from this banner.

I'm not super sold on her ending turn thing being all that tbh
If you can hit multiple targets with it at once, its pretty advantageous, but if its only hitting one thing its not a big deal. Res is also being contested a lot more now, so she may not always be able to do it. And the cardinal directions part makes it way too situational.
I've seen other people thinking this too. We will have to wait and see, but I honestly think this unit is completely broken
So if Nerthuz has like, 80 Spd in combat (probably not too unreasonable nowadays), does she mitigate 20 damage in ADDITION to whatever gets mitigated from her weapon, B skill, and C skill?
So it's actually a bit better than that. Essentially what will happen is that piercable dr will mitigate damage first then the speed flat damage reduction. So in your example, let's say nerthuz is going to take 50 damage. Her 40% DR (from b slot) would reduce it by 20 first then the flat dr would reduce it by an additional 20. So it would go down to a mere 10 dmg. And it gets even mroe insane when you stack additional DR (she has more in her weapon)
Is there any chance kvasir comes back in february mythic banner alongside robin and heior ? Or is that too soon for her to comeback ?
Seasonals don’t appear in Legendary/Mythic banners anymore… for years by now. ^^

3:46 I don't really get why you mention Heavy Blade 4 for a galeforcing Nerhpuz when you just explained yourself that Atk/Spd Wild has special acceleration? I think her role as a galeforce unit is pretty clear.
Because Wild has healing, so Nerthuz can't act as an initiator, because she won't reach WoM range. So you are left using her as a clean up unit, but then you lose her preference skill
@@Oblivionknight There are alternatives to WoM galeforce teams and NY!Nerphuz is a really good example. You listed Gravity as D+ but it's actually the key here. When there are 3-4 foes left, that is when you initiate with NY!Nerphuz, kill one of them and restrict the movement of those that remain. In a way it's like combining galeforce with hit and run. Freyr doesn't cleans debuffs applied during a turn. If you act on turn one, you can also use safety fence for this strategy. Gravity is immensely useful for Galeforce, you can't collect both pots and kill a whole team in one turn. That is why the combined strategy of galeforce and hit-and-run is really strong. NY!Nerphuz also looks bulky enough to take on a melee threat if she ends up in the foes range after being the last one to initiate. I think she will be great on AR-O, but using her effectively might require creating a galeforce team that is a bit less traditional. Is Galeforce her best role? Probably not. NY!Nerphuz looks like she will be really strong in SD with Aether. For Aether Raids she's probably the best on a team that focuses just on hit-and-run. However, just because a unit has healing doesn't mean they can't be used for galeforce.
Shoutouts the FEH community for still saying "Flat DR" instead of "DT" like literally every other game that has the mechanic

I just came here to complain, but I can't even use units i like because the new ones just dont take damage. The new Ephraim (im pretty sure) LITERALLY just attacks before you no matter what and doesn't even take damage if you manage to live that first hit. This game is broken. I can't even use units from last year because every new unit is better than the last 😭. I love FE, but this game is so terrible now.
Yeah the units here aren’t even close to being as strong as the ones on the winter banner
If I'm not wrong, Seidr can only freeze a specific foe every other turn, *unless* the enemy is running Freyr? The debuff she inflicts will prevent them being frozen, which isn't cleared until after their next turn? (Or also of they get danced...?) Or does the debuff only get applied after Freyr's skill triggered?
Her debuff should be cleansed once they end their action/turn, so it should be able to free them every turn
