  • Trying to get my '96 Subaru Impreza Wagon out of the non-plowed parking lot. Tried to see how it would do without shoveling.
I ended up getting a little further but decided not to strain the 350k mile car lol
Car is stock height on Cooper Winter Tires

If you are still looking and deciding on a car....AT wrxs were only offered from 2002 to 2010. And the. 2015+. We're you thinking about new or used?
If used, I would say an impreza. Less chance it was beat on and Non Turbo imprezas would be more reliable as it gets to high mileage. Just gas and go. Wrx is more fun but requires more caution and maintenance for the boosted engines. Of course you see wrxs and stis with 200k+ miles but you see more % imprezas that go that long. If you are looking at new, we have trhe 2016 wrx cvt and we love it. Great for road trips and Washington dc traffic.

❤️🇺🇸 Next time try advancing and retreating before you get stuck then you won’t have to for throttle and dig holes to get unstuck every time you advance keep doing that until you pack down the Area then you have an area in the middle that is packed down without holes and you can work your way out from there instead of fighting for every inch.

Good suggestion. My Toyota Land Cruiser and my Subaru Legacy Wagon both have stick shift. After seeing a few videos like this, I'm glad that I have manual transmissions. I think rocking the vehicle between forward and reverse is more effective in manual. I also think a manual is able to deliver just the right amount of torque to the wheels so that you don't spin and form ice under the tires.

I was more scared of the other cars which once I got out onto the main roads were sliding down the hill towards me and sliding through stop lights or going sideways when turning. I was also able to avoid the bastard snow plow that ran a red light and nearly hit me. Ha ha my neighbors did that last year. And dam did they wake up everybody in the apartment complex. And people was yelling use a shovel. And the guy tried so hard to get his car outta there. Same like in the video same amount of snow. And he tried so hard next thing KABOOOOOM!!!!! The engine and transmission had enough and went kaput. And the landlord went and got evection notice's and they got kicked out 2 day's later. And the funny part is they had no way to move there furniture. They had to leave allot of stuff behind. And that is how i got my living room furniture. And also my wife was happy to see all the kitchen appliances. They lost over i would say about 10 grand in kitchen appliances. And about 30 grand in living room furniture. A huge entertainment center and also a 50 inch screen TV. That belong's to a rental company. And they was angry that they lost the stuff. Due to the tenants that was renting from them no longer live there. And they could not do anything since i am the new tenant on the lease. And the officer said that i could be charge with theft. And i said i said take me to court. And the rental company did. And the judge tossed out the case. And he made them pay my attorney fee's. And also $500.00 for wasting my time.

I did this with my 2004 Subaru Forester XT 5 speed back in 2011.
My wife was annoyed that I want even trying to shovel.. Until it pulled out first try.
We also had at least a foot more snow in London, on. They dubbed it snowmageddon. Everything was shut down. Except for Subaru on Nokian Hakkappelitta RS!
3 days of blindingly thick snow fall.

Got stuck in an unpaved muddy leafy parking lot at a ski resort but after a little pushing help from 2 nice guys I was passing by countless SUV's off the road in ditches.

I've seen the Impreza's lifted 2-3 inches wearing meaty tires have no problem. How ever just doing this to a stock 06-07 Impreza with street tires. Not to mention it's a manual that your high reving 7,000-8,000 RPM's in 1st an Reverse? I'd pefer my tires to allow the systematic AWD to grab, not compact an spin. Start it in second maybe for lower RPM's(Slower tire spin). Driving criticism aside it's damn impressive the Impreza can do this bone stock. Personally for my 07 Impreza I'd rather grab a shovel an avoid Ox becoming a Bitcharu.

I feel you on that. My first subaru was 12 years ago in 2004. Subaru was unknown back then. Diamond in the rough. EVERY modified subaru you see on the street back then would wave back. Nowadays....not so much =( But they are great cars though. It is not just a fanboy thing to me.

Number one that has to be some pretty light snow to move at all. Number two, once you get the tires heated up by spinning you aren't going to move. You might as well shovel a bit and let things cool down.
