- Hilarious, outgoing and always up for a good time, New Yorker Brittany Forgler is everybody’s best friend ― except maybe her own. At 27, her hard-partying ways, chronic underemployment and toxic relationships are catching up with her, but when she stops by a new doctor’s office to try to score some Adderall, she gets slapped with a prescription she never wanted: Get healthy. Too broke for a gym and too proud to ask for help, Brit is at a loss, until her seemingly together neighbor Catherine pushes her to lace up her Converse sneakers and run one sweaty block. The next day, she runs two. And soon, after finishing her first mile, she sets an almost unthinkable goal: running in the New York City Marathon. Award-winning playwright Paul Downs Colaizzo makes his directorial debut with Brittany Runs a Marathon, an uproarious, irreverent and surprisingly emotional comedy inspired by real events. The irresistible cast, led by Jillian Bell, lends heart and soul to this inspirational story of a party girl who finally finds real friends - and dignity - by taking control of her future, one city block at a time.

Rewatched this and it made me cry
I don’t have a problem with my weight, but the message about self love, responsibility, and letting others in (while remembering EVERYONE has problems) is so touching
I was expecting this to be one of those outlandish comedy films but it ended up smacking me in all of my feels
Holy cow! This looks ten times better than any Rebel Wilson/Amy Schumer film combined.
agree, but amy schumer and rebel wilson would never do this film because it would force them to lose some weight, and thats just to hard
Why do all female comedies need to have a comment comparing to other female comedians/Amy Schumer? Chill out and stop comparing, doesnt happen with male comedians...
@@andrewjarvis2678 I don't think you know how committed Rebel Wilson is haha
@@andrewjarvis2678 actually the reason rebel is the size she is because studios don't want her to lose the weigh. She lost a ton of weight right after pitch perfect and she was told not to lose anymore weight or risk not being cast anymore.
I remember reading about it cause she was a spokeswoman for weight watchers and lost heaps of weight and there was concerns if she was normal size she would lose her appeal to her audience
Hahaha! Good comment. 100% what I wanted those people to be.
It’s such a good movie that any runner is gonna relate to it. Brought memories when I couldn’t run a mile and and now I am running Chicago and NYC marathon this year!
Have you run the NYC before? Be prepared for an amazing experience! There's also the NYC 60k.
Go you!!
I've been running outside (in a park near my house) for 4 years and it really works for my mental health. People should overcome the physical discomfort happening in the initial phase to enjoy its long-term benefits.
It look like she legit lost weight during the movie. That is dope and inspirational.
I think it was prosthetics at the beginning but still inspirational nonetheless I can’t wait to see it.
You can tell there are some prosthetics at the beginning. In an interview at Sundance, Jillian said she lost 29 pounds before filming started and then 11 more during filming.
I think she lost weight before she filmed the movie, and they just used prosthetics for the beginning of this movie. Cause she is most definitely thinner than she was in workaholics.
She did! Jillian Bell said she lost 40 pounds
@@rodrilover17 it's no prosthetic. I saw the movie, she said in interviews she lost 40 pounds and you can see it in the movie. She is getting dressed and she looked at herself in the mirror. They show her from behind looking and you can see the weight loss. She didn't have a bubble butt anymore., her panties didn't look 2 sizes too small anymore.
Just went and saw this movie last night. Really enjoyed it and would recommend to others.
When she held the train door open for the other lady as well. My heart. 😭 Keen to see this.
The trailer is the whole movie... but I'm glad I've seen it. This is literally me.
Hallie Harmon nope. There are SO many parts that are left out. It’s such a wonderful movie!!
Me 2 😁😂😍🥰🙏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I want to get back into running! I ran for 2 years, had to quit for awhile. You still running Hallie?
Went from injury to only running a certain amount of time to running a half marathon in under 3 hours. From someone who just decided to start running. That’s was amazing to me.
Saw an advance screening of this today ... it's definitely funny, but it also has surprising depth and realness. I loved it !
What a great story. The NYM has done great things for me, my family, and my friends. The stories all have one thing in common, the New York Marathon. Long may it continue!
Does everyone realize how much the entry fee is for the NYM?
this movie got me crying by the end, which I wasn't expecting at all. it is beautiful.
This movie is what I wanted from Amy Schumer's I Feel Pretty and didn't get. I loved this movie and especially enjoyed the realistic interactions she had with men throughout her weight loss journey.
Love it. Running helped my life so much.
Running is my life. I don't know where I'd be without it.
David Watson
Yes, same here but now my knees are at a much too young age so bad that I can only warn everybody out there: running can cause severe damage mostly to your knees but also to the hips and ankles!!
Same
@@Celisar1 That's why I try to talk people out of running. If you want a cardio exercise, running is the worst thing in the world for you to do. Take up cycling, swimming, or racewalking, but do not take up running. However, run if you enjoy going outside and running somewhere.
koopatroopa187
Well, that’s what I did: I still love being outside and running was absolutely wonderful but now I have to pay the price: my knees hurt often, one is swollen and I cannot even use a normal bike anymore. I used to take my bike for everything and did more than 200 km per week, but now my knee gets worse when I do 4 km.
No more inline skating and no more mountain hiking.
Absolutely NO sport is worth such a loss of quality of life!
I can only warn other people!
This movie is suprisingly good and inspiring. It is relatable even if you don't have weight issues.
This should not be a select theater type of movie it should be a theatrical release to all theaters and Amazon should definitely advertise it a lot since late night didn’t did great and that movie was awesome I even loved it I want this be a surprise end of the summer hit and I would definitely buy this on blu ray and dvd same as late night
I think the soy in your diet is affecting your ability to use the English language.
@@ryanbarker5217 lmao
ryan barker try not be a jerk for once for how people do there spelling
This movie encourage me to go to the gym and be healthy I watched it yesterday n it was great ! Thank u , Brittany for the motivation
I totally didn't cry when she got to the finish line at the end.
Nope, totally dry-eyed here too. Also did not stand up and give the victory cheer in my living room. Didn't.
Ditto
Such an inspiring movie! Glad I watched it!!
I’m running my first marathon literally two weeks after this comes out 😁🤗
Marta Sukhno Good luck! 🏃♀️
Have a great Marathon!
what a simple and at the same time highly motivational film .I love it
We love running films. This looks like a great one!
Gene! But wait, this is actually inspirational and looks hilarious.
last hurrah
shout out to bebe rexha... huge fan, now i am really going to watch this movie
I graduated college in May and used to run a lot in high school. I signed up for New York and then I realized I didn’t have the time or motivation. So I’m doing the Philly half instead. I can relate to this struggle so much.
amazing movie! One of my favourites
It looks like a youtube transformation video made into a movie, i will watch it 😊
I’m so pumped for this movie
Saw this last week, loved it!
So Tobey Maguire produced this movie and i heard it did well, but it would be cool if he came back to the big screen as an actor again.
Yess..and if he is in this movie, absolutely the box office collection would be so much more higher.
This is inspiring because I need to loss 20 or so pounds
samee not 20 alot more then that but I need to lose weight :(
Amazon Studios just announced the release date of late night on Blu-ray and DVD same with Brittany runs a marathon because I would love to pre order both and buy them to own part of my collection
Thought this was going to be another cliche movie but that final punchline at the end of the trailer O_O
What’s the song at the beginning of this video??? It’s awesome and I can’t find it online
Loved this film!
Loved this movie!
It’s finally coming to my theatre after weeks
Btw amazon studios would you like to make a movie about me I have a really funny sad story that needs to be heard
I needed to see this film clip
I need to see this!!
Ahhh. This looks like a Netflix movie. There's nothing wrong with that, but I hope this movie will be successful during its theatrical run. Amazon Studios also has a hit-or-miss track record; they lost a lot of money on Suspiria, Beautiful Boy, The Neon Demon, Life Itself, etc.
my wife and I just watched this. it was a g great movie. highly recommend
this looks really good - hits a little too close to home.....time to strap on them sneaks...
Apaixonada por esse filme
The weight thing is a given, but this movie inspired me with so much more than just weight. It hits so close to fucking home. Just feeling like a failure and finding that one very specific thing that saves your life. I feel choked up even writing this comment lol.
Anyone have similar inspiring life journey type of movies to recommend? I love this movie so much.
I wanna go see it but the closest theatre to me playing it is 45 minutes away 😓
looks good...too bad it's not available on Prime BEFORE this year's NYC Marathon for inspiration!
I’m currently training for a marathon, and definitely use a pick me up, and some motivation to get out there. I hope this does the trick!
Which Marathon? Warning: you'll get hooked!
Chicago Marathon. It’s my first time running there, but my second marathon.
Btw, saw the movie, and I found it enjoyable after my 22 miler. I could relate, and the feels of starting and ending the marathon....yep!
Movie have alot of depth and emotions. Majority can relate with each and every emotions. Lots of love to all those who takes their own responsibility. I promise i will be the one I'm working on it.

'Into the Wild'
:)
One of the best movies for sure 👍👍👍
I absolutely love it!
When Donald from Pitch Perfect and Jillian from Workaholics make a movie together.
Really enjoyed this movie!!
Where can I get a marathon course map like she has on her bedroom wall? Not the NYM, but a different marathon? Anyone know? I love it.
Anyone thinking of the Funny or Die sketch about the marathon girl who never tells anyone
I pity ANYBODY who has ANY partiality for a “movie” like this... I truly do. 🤣
I LOVED this movie
È un film meraviglioso...di ispirazione
I have to see this movie.
Just saw this money tonight, it was so good.
Yessss Utkarsh!
I think I need to see this
Hey, you left the climax out! Please, why not just give us the full story in the trailer?
It's based on a true story u can prolly Google it
@@basstfestivalvlogs7684 I could, but I'd rather not.
@@utkarshed I agree
"Whats wrong with her being fat!?!?"
Empowerment and looking good for yourself is important, being healthy does wonders for confidence
Edit: obesity is unhealthy
@@Yes-iu3kr I'm overweight and have an eating disorder, I never said eating disorders were healthy I'm just saying that being healthy is healthy. If I were to stop stress eating and excersise properly, I'd be a lot more healthy
@@Yes-iu3kr obesity is very unhealthy, anyone who thinks otherwise is wrong. I'm sorry if I seem unapologetic but I believe its true
@Inebriatd yo I think you needa chill some>/>
@Inebriatd yeah will you can say "obese people" instead of "fatties"
@@Yes-iu3kr I'm overweight and the signs are showing, whether it be my blood pressure or how out of shape I am. America has to understand that you cant just say "its okay" when it's really not, the risks are unhealthy and dangerous..
I have been thinking about running but I’ve always heard that beginners should start slow or whatever but this makes me think I should just get out and do it
Best advice I can give you is to learn what type of foot you have and buy the shoes needed for you. Too many people get injuries because they're wearing improper footwear. After that, just put one foot in front of the other and see where your feet take you. Also, I highly recommend the book The Terrible and Wonderful Reasons Why I Run Long Distances. Good luck, and welcome to the beautiful and crazy lifestyle that is hobby running.
@@koopatroopa187 Thank you so much for that advice. I'll try to find out about what footwear I should use. :)
My wife finally decided to start running at 52 after watching me do races for years. At first she couldn't run more than a few hundred feet without being out of breath. Four months later she ran her first Half-Marathon! That was 5 years ago, in 2 months she'll be running her first marathon! By registering for a race I find it helps me get serious about training. Good luck!
I gotta see this
A beautiful movie although not strong in self love.
makes me want some spaghetti hoops on toast
My comfort movie...
Good film!
I loved it!
 Aprenda a pronunciar
I love to run. Changed my life. I learned to run in Spain. And it brought it to my life in Brazil 🇧🇷
OI PATRICIA!
I'm in Mexico and the movie hasn't come out yet, I'm looking everywhere to see where I can buy it and watch online with my husband.....with no results whatsoever! I want to watch it! Help!
I love this movie
this. movie. !!! this is MY story!!!!!!!! loved it do yourself a favour go see it!
I love that someone finally wrote a movie that inspires overweight people to achieve healthy fitness and weight goals instead of shaming them into bulimic barbie dolls with broken brains.
Thanks I needed motivation to run a marathon
why are there so many views, but so little likes/ comments ?
Maddie cause you can watch and maybe even like what you watch.. but you aren’t forced to comment or give it a like
Anyone seen Run Fatboy Run 2007?
Looks like an amazing movie. Can't wait to watch it
what is this movie about exactly?
@frank white i'm in prison while my friend lounges on a beach? doesn't like a good friend.
@frank white oh! is it like that fleck on the speck on the tail on the frog on the bump on the branch on the log in the hole in the bottom of the sea?
She looks like a young Sherri Stringfield from ER.
Looks amazing
now do it in under 2 hours
Dude this is just a modern day Run Fatboy Run
run fat boy run is still pretty modern. :p
Amazon's Originals are so much better than Netflix's. Yeah, yeah, I know that they had Roma, and The Irishman is on the way. Still, I'm talking on average.
This technically isn't amazon....It premiered at Sundance, and Amazon had the most money and placed the highest bid so was able to own the rights to it.
They bought it, didn't help make it. Netflix has some great documentaries though.
Can someone tell me whose song in 1:52?
Last Hurrah by Bebe Rexha
@@J_psi thank youuuu
To everyone who may think it may help with extra kilograms - I did 3 marathons in my life - did not loose even single 1kg. Yes body structure changes a bit (fat/muscle) - but the changes are subtle, so nobody will notice it, you will not change clothes size - because with increased sports activity - appetite goes up, and after a few weeks body adapts.
I know this isn't a true story. Absolutely nobody holds the doors for you in the subway. I've lived in nyc all my life, and this has happened never. To anyone.
Time for you to start running!
I don't know if I can lose weight... I think I just need to try but I'm scared to
It's like a mix of Run Fat Boy Run and Trainwreck. Yaaaaaaawwwwwwnnnnn
Um, no. If that's all you see, then you are not paying much attention.
@@bandit8it k
I love run fatboy run
This movie kind of reminds me of “I feel Pretty” starring Amy Schumer.
but better
Whats the movie on 2:32 ?
Is that JILIAN?
I didn't laugh once in the trailer but somehow I think it might be a good film because of the overall message.
This was actually a great movie and I am the last person you would expect to like a female led romcom. Solid performances from everyone.
Your “compliment” is backhanded and sexist
We have now seen the whole movie in under 3 minutes. Gee, I wonder how it ends? (Sarcasm font)
