  • HyEnD has successfully conducted the Static Hot Fire Test of the Compass Demonstrator Rocket. Engine, tank, fluid system and ground support equipment were tested together. The test has shown that remote tanking and launching of the rocket works safely and reliably - we are looking forward to the launch.

That was a very stable burn, beautiful mach diamonds, and virtually no pulsations. I see you paid attention to your ignition system, it was immediate and symmetrical. I was surprised the O/F shift in blowdown was so quick. Well done

I’m also building a hybrid rocket. When I test, the shock diamonds are visible to my eye but I cannot see them on film. How are you capturing the exhaust on video? Does it have to do with camera type and settings? Thanks!

We use liquid nitrous oxide in a blow down configuration.
