    it's insane that something can hold this back.

    • @Baumhauskrampf
      @Baumhauskrampf 2 года назад +29

      @Tom I can hardly put into words how little sense this comment makes.
      The earth would be moved only by this booster IF he is held. If it wouldnt be held, but would jet off, it would've no influence on the earths rotation at all.
      So why should´ve "Kris tian" thought that the booster would move the earth if there was nothing to hold it in place? I have never read such a big logic knot in so few letters :D

    • @Baumhauskrampf
      @Baumhauskrampf 2 года назад +2

      @Tom who is that "they" you are talking about?
      You definetly replied to Kris tian.
      And it is held at rest not by the earth but by a large, purpose-built structure attached to the earth.
      And because its held back, it definetly has an impact on the earth rotation, as everythin has. even you do a push on the earth by jumping. Its just incredible small, but measurable. So yes it definetly has a push on the earth, but do you mean, that it changes the earths rotaiton drasticly? wtf, you even need 2 + onflight engine to just move a small rocket into space, how can 1 have the tiniest bit of relevant impact on the earths rotation then?

    • @eross.carmona7235
      @eross.carmona7235 2 года назад +25

      @Tom The person isn't referring to the mountains or the earth, but to the structure built in front of it, to keep the booster from moving, so they can test it Which honestly, I was also thinking the same. Imagine how much force the booster is exerting on that structure, continuosly as the fuel burns, and yet, it resists. It is indeed quite impressive.

      It's on Earth in a 12.3 psi air pressure. Chemistry being what it is those propellants would not ignite in the vaccum of space. That's right even though the oxidizer is mixed right with the fuel with no ambient air pressure the molecules don't sustain combustion. Gunpowder doesn't burn in a vacuum of 150k feet equivalent explosive compounds don't explode in even relatively weak vaccums.

    • @caracolito666
      @caracolito666 4 года назад +3

      @@Ben-oni442 Well depends how much you want to change it. The calculation is in principle simple (torque = Inertia * ang.acceleration) but the complication is with the effect on the atmosphere which has a more complex dynamics. With the acceleration over some time you can compute a change of speed. Inertia is the inertia of the Earth. Torque is the thrust of the rocket (in Newton) times the radius of the Earth.

    • @caracolito666
      @caracolito666 4 года назад +1

    • @heavenstomurgatroyd7033
      @heavenstomurgatroyd7033 4 года назад +1

      Ramon Nogueron - your hypotheses are way off. The mass of the earth is so much greater than the thrust of the rocket that the effect is negligible. The earth is also spinning at 1k mph at the equator, the force of the rocket times the sine of the angle to the equator equals the net force. The earth is also rotating around the Sun at 67k mph. So taking into account these three factors you have no idea what the hell your talking about......nice try though.....😂

      Michael Sharp new rocket, new mission, more reliability, first woman, first person of color, etc. Plus, it’s great to go back to the moon because we can launch from there to Mars and beyond. The Moon has 1/6 the gravity, no atmosphere, and it’s orbiting the Earth and going really fast. All those conditions make it amazing to launch a rocket.

      Wondering the same thing. I heard of new tests of a mixture of nylon beads and some other chemicals and oxidizers (which is very polluting, Yuk!). Maybe it's this one?

      this is a solid booster

    • @maxsignori7660
      @maxsignori7660 4 года назад +7

      Some liquid propellant rockets use Hydrogen and oxygen, like the shuttle main engines, others use kerosene and oxygen (saturn V, falcon9) or methane like for the new starship. But this is a solid propellant booster, and there's all kind of nasty stuff in there, including rubber, aluminium, lithium

    • @user66241
      @user66241 4 года назад +4

      This is solid rocket fuel, a mixture of certain chemicals plus an oxydiser in its solid state. To be fair: a lot of liquid fueled rockets dont use hydrogen as their propellant. Most of the time its some kind of kerosine or hydrazine.
