Nice set up. Im going back to a 16ft tiller instead of center console. U could probably gain 2 more MPH by raising the cavitation plate to the water line on back of boat, instead of it lining up with bottom of boat. Or go 1 pitch lower on prop, doesnt sound like it was hitting peak rpm's.

Im rebuilding a 16 deep V 1972 Starcraft SS . I bought the same motor in Cool White. I'm hoping for 25 mph with a 12" prop.
attach the kill cord to you instead of itself mate, it is there to cut the engine if you go overboard and prevent runaway boat

I have the 2018 30 hp model running on a 1648 tracker grizzly. Bought it brand new. Very good motor. You will be happy with it.
Did you play with different props I got a heavy 16’ Jon boat and was wanting to try different props
@@stevendeakles6956 No. The tracker grizzly 1648 is pretty heavy and it pushes it very well. I’m normally alone though.

I have a 2018 Suzuki 40 on a 15 foot boat not as fast as my 2 stroke mariner but its smooth and cranks every time.
Yeah same here I had a 90 2stroke on it, but I'm happier with this smaller Suzuki they do start first time Everytime so far, and there super quiet.
