I don't love it but I suppose it is a flex still. Something about that shade of green doesn't look great to me but who doesn't appreciate a solid block of yellow gold!
You can get a similar look with the stainless steel BB58 by replacing the original bracelet with the one made for the Tudor Ranger model (with the new T-fit clasp and without the rivets). It is a pricey upgrade but the new look and functionality are amazing
Flop - people will assume it's the bronze one. Yeah I know it's not green but who TF are you going to run into who actually knows the difference without you telling them?!

It's an attention grabbing product, that's all. Catch people's eyes as they walk past, but they walk out with the steel, like bright yellow/orange/green sports cars with racing stripes bringing people into the dealership who walk out with the basic white crossover. There is a big difference: all the watches you mention have leather straps or the 16618 has hollow links and a stamped claps. Either way, that's way less gold used on these dress watches respectively the mentioned 30 year old rolex than on a solid, 18k gold Tudor bracelet incl. machined quick adjust claps. It's still a ridiculous watch, but your comparison lacks.
Rolex probably doesn’t want Tudor stealing ANY market share of their 18k Rolexes (which have their best margins) and thus priced it very closely to their solid gold lineup. Rolex is making a concerted effort to grow sales of their solid gold models and a $24,000ish solid gold Black Bay may do just that.
My take: it’s not for most of us, even for those of us that own and like Tudor. This is for the man that can drop that amount on something without fear of bankruptcy, because he’s a Tudor mega fan. They *do* exist. I know a user on Watch Crunch that owns one on bracelet, and he adores it.
The guy who buys this watch doesn’t buy it as cheaper Rolex alternative… he buys it to impress his AD to remind them who gets the first allocation on Rolex.
To make this watch complete they needed to put their best movement in it. The movement needed to be finished to the highest level and have a solid gold roter.

meh.. ultimate flex? Stealth Wealth in the form of GMT Meteorite dial, 240 grams baby! This Tudor will barely be worth the 193 (times 75%) grams of gold it's made off
A solid gold Rolex Sub with a gold bracelet is 297 Grams. This watch is 100 grams lighter with similar proportions...Why??? Hollow bracelet links for $27,000.
To be perfectly honest, this wasnt made for people who need to "push" to reach the gold sub. It exists for people that I can't relate to, because 27k is still a life changing amlunt of money for me.
4:27 I thought: "Man that looks nice". Then the Sub came up and I thought: "Ok, THIS looks nice" Owning a gold GMT, I am always amazed how Rolex gold just looks so good in comparison, especially with black dials.
I think it's not for people who have to choose between a Sub or a Black Bay, but rather for those who already have everything they can imagine in gold and want to add this to their collection too.
Regardless of a solid gold Rolex or BB58, both will go up in value due to the price of gold increasing. The price of gold has outperformed the stock market for the past few years. This trend will only go parabolic once the world economy blows up and BRICS implements a gold standard among 85 different nations. These watches will pay for themselves within the next 5 years or so.
Poor man’s Rolex at Rolex prices….i bet these are very available. Gold Rolex are very available, and solid gold Rolex on grey market are a similar price to this watch. The price bracket puts it up amongst the trinity, langhe etc…but tbh I’m not a fan of Tudor so I watched this video to not like the watch. Whoever buys one will most likely have a rare watch, hope they enjoy it.
I do not plan to buy this Tudor, but this is, on a completely irrational basis, this is the BlackBay I find the most attractive. A solid gold Swiss dive watch, what more do you want ? It has to be said that I have been on record for asking Sinn to manufacture a solid rose gold 556 A, on an H link bracelet. Not sure they have considered it, though. Pity.
Bark and Jack tin cups….the best mugs for tooth brushes and toothpaste. They work with coffee too, but I drink so much coffee I’m always having to refill them over and over.
If Tudor could have found a way to retail this watch, at circa £20k, then it would make much more sense. The movement not being metas / cosc certified, especially at the price point that they are asking you to pay, is definitely an own goal imo.
Kinda feel sad that Tudor has gone this way. The watch brands seem to be racing to the highest price. Locking more people out of the mechanical watch market
Australia🇦🇺 is 32x bigger than UK🇬🇧 so obviously “Aussies” love real estate!! Sometimes I think 🤔will a new Rolex make me any happier than my late father’s Valjoux 7750!! Truth is even if I sell 2 million dollar homes and get $40,000 commission!! I will not take that ETA off my left hand. So it’s a waste buying 18k gold Rolex!! My watch dealer promises me their will be ETA 7750 parts available year 2050 for my son service his grandfather watch ⌚️…..
If I had that money I’m getting a second hand Omega Speedmaster Moonshine Gold with the Green Dial. So classy and classic and yet still doesn’t feel flashy.
I look at it in the same vein as those G-Shocks that cost several thousand pounds. The amount of people buying them is probably really low, but there's something about it that's cool. Maybe along the lines of consciously buying the less desirable brand's most premium offering instead of something 'better'?
I love it. Of course it's ridiculous but in a different way to Rolex. This is truth and love. Nothing to do with market values. Just be stupid and understand you are being stupid. Definitely a watch for me.
Arguably the Omega Seamaster Chrono in Sedna isn’t a like-for-like comparison to the Tudor, but for about the same amount, that’s where I’d put my money.

Let me say it again: THE FOUNDER MADE TUDOR A CHEAPER ROLEX and as much as we like to hype them up cause they're not that expensive they are NOWHERE NEAR COMPARABLE
Absolutely not!! If you can afford this amount of money, you can afford so much more!!!! The enthusiast who buys this doesn’t care, Simple! That is a tough sell. I like the snowflake hand and in my family Tudor has become a thing for us…. But at that price I might be looking elsewhere to be honest! I guess I don’t have FU kinda money 😂
Ive been on this watch journey for 3 years. My first piece was a Tudor because i didnt want to spend Rolex prices at the time. 3 years in (and after owning 5 other brands) i was ready to consider rolex. And i was VERY UNIMPRESSED. Instead of spending $9k on a sub, I spent $3,900 on the BB54 and could not be happier. I say all that to say, real tudor collectors do so to impress no one and own a LEGIT watch. Would i buy this gold BB? No, but i can understand why someone would. To impress no one but himself and real collectors
'Seeing one in the wild'? Don't hold your breath. Unless you're counting a Tudor boutique. Or, perhaps if David Beckham is a personal friend. Because you'd need to be off your noggin to fork out 27K for this. Even more nuts than a gold Submariner and which is pure nonsense in itself. And I say this as a Rolex and Tudor owner. Oh, and brushed gold? I mean, why even bother? Only point you're off the mark on is depreciation. 5-6K? I don't think so and reckon a considerably bigger bath than that!
I think this a feeler watch from Tudor to basically, see who is willing to spend more than 5k on a Tudor. I think anyone spending this much money on a Tudor clearly already has FU money. I would love to see the sales figure on this particular model. Even more reputable brands like Omega, have had a hard time justifying selling a 40k gold Speedy. With brands like Patek, ALS, VC,AP and even Rolex offering higher end pieces around the same price, no one is going to be flocking to their AD for a gold Tudor. It’s a swing and a miss for me. Love Tudor just not this watch.
I travel a lot….there is no way I’d ever wear a 27k or 34k watch ANYWHERE! So…what’s the point? 😂 Sorry Adrian. If I see these “in the wild” I’ll loose all respect for the idiot wearing it…unless he has body guards or secret service.
I find the BB58 in gold stunningly beautiful. It’s almost perfect. Unfortunately, the movement isn’t gold-plated. When you look through the open case back, you can see that it hasn't been changed compared to the BB58 in silver. For the hefty price, this is an absolute dealbreaker.
I hate Tudor. Stupidest watch I've ever seen. 27k for the ginger step-brother of Rolex. You're just pissing money away on a poor man's Rolex when, as you said, you can buy an actual gold Rolex or grey market gold Breguet for that money.
for the price id expect specially binned MT-5400 movements that pass METAS. if Tudor didn't want to separate this black bay from the rest of the line they already failed on value alone as mentioned. Tudor wanting to sell that watch at that price, I would want METAS at a minimum.
£27,000 is too expensive for a Tudor watch. If you want a gold watch, a Rolex is a more luxurious watch. Or buy it on the secondary market, as it doesn't keep its value.
The 58 Solid Gold is just marketing for Likes and Influencers to get Off on. Sure you can buy one, but Tudor would be the first to declare they don't expect to sell many. Purely a PR exercise flex to show Tudor is technically capable of utilising precious metal. Creating a halo effect over their other product.
It's a nice looking watch, but you'd have to be crazy to pick this (or the full gold submariner) over the gold Omega Speedmaster and, of course, a gold Datejust or Day Date. I doubt anyone has anyway, tbh.
Nah no way 🙅♀️ 27k for a Tudor that’s going to be worth 20k as soon as you walk out the door . Be Interesting to see how much discount the Tudor AD will offer on this Soon enough gold Rolex subs and GMT’s will be offered at a discount so the gap between the price of this and a precious metal Rolex will be less .. Anyone who has the money for the Tudor should dig a bit deeper for a Rolex and preserve your wealth in its value staying and going up through time 🕰️
Hi Adrian thank you for making this video! Imo inexcusable putting an exhibition case back to save gold and not putting a gold rotar! You get to see the ugliest movement known to man while unnecessarily adding an extra 1mm to the thickness. Nobody needs to see that ugly movement it's the same in my bb58 925. Apart from that I absolutely love this Tudor
Love Tudor but a) I’ll never have the money to spend £25k+ on a watch and b) even if I did, there would not even be 0.00000001% chance, or thought, of spending it on a Tudor, gold or not
You should compare it to the GO SeaQ 39mm gold, which you can get grey market below $20k, but no bracelet, but you can see the movement (that is worth seeing)
Not at all a flex. Most people have never heard of Tudor and the color and shade of the gold, looks more like brass. The puke green bezel is also a hard no. Pay $32k for it at an AD….walk out the door and now it is only $27k USD. Totally not a flex…unless you are flexing you are flexing your lack of financial common sense
Whats going on with a caseback? It looks like a display back but not a movement in there - is that because it's a press piece? Regardless, display back on a solid gold sports watch is, IMO, a clear cost cutting measure. Poor form.
This watch feels like Tudor deliberately breaking from the identity they’ve done a good job of cultivating the past few years. At this price point, I’m not buying a gold BB because there are far too many alternatives that also are superior in movement and finishing. You’re talking about steel VC Overseas dual times as just one example. I don’t understand it and I don’t see it.
Just by viewing this content alone, the gold BB looks much better than that Rolex gold sub. I think the market for it will be the watch person with very deep pockets. If you are able to drop £27k easily on a watch, there's a good chance £35k wont cause you to lose sleep either.
The ultimate flex is to show you have taste, not just money. The more you know, the less you need to show. Only dumb people with no taste are buying a gold Tudor. Really dumb people with even less taste are buying gold Rolexes. Wearing either just says “I have no imagination, but I did hit my sales bonus accelerators this FY”
Frankly, I love it. This would sit way above the Rolex when it came to my desirability levels. It just suits my style much better. That said, I would be all over the GO, personally.
This watch is for the collector that already has it all, and is in an enviable predicament of not knowing what to buy next. Why not strap on a solid gold Tudor! Otherwise I don’t imagine anyone choosing this watch over any other comparably priced watch ( I’m a Tudor fan, owning two my self)
Nobody with any sense is buying this, as 'flexing' a Tudor isn't possible. If you've got £27k to spend on a solid gold diver then a little extra for a Submariner, an infinitely more attractive watch, is the way to go. Plus you won't lose your shirt if for some reason it needs to be sold.
Luxury is fine but I put limits to it as far as my consumption is concerned. I cannot afford to waste so much money buying a new gold watch. I think that gold watches are all way over priced. Way way way over priced ! I find these extremely expensive considering the market value of the gold which enters in their fabrication. I’d rather buy a watch in stainless steel, titanium or ceramic as these are less prone to scratches, more under the radar, etc… and separately I’d buy a gold, platinum or silver lingot.
Stunning timepiece in green and 18k gold. The golden Hulk that Ive hopped Rolex would offer for years now. Price is another matter all together and nothing to do with the watch itself. Too expensive for the buyer? Move on, but its still a beautiful piece that I'd fit into the pile.
Bonkers watch at at bonkers price for people who just can’t hose away their surplus hundreds of thousands fast enough. I guess it’s for the ultra rich who are just plain bored of their 50 odd Rolex models and want something... more bonkers to wear down the super yacht club.
I like Tudor, i own one, but this business of making things from gold is ridiculous. as soon as somebody starts talking about value retention in a watch, I instantly feel disgust. The watch is not bad looking it’s just nasty and completely out of line with the original principles behind Tudor. yes, they will sell some of them to people in the UAB and wealthy people around the world.
It remains a Tudor. Like VW having no business at an Aston Porsche Ferrari AMG meetup, who in his right mind wants to flex with a Chewdah rather than with a VC ?
What does your brain do when you wear a solid gold watch? Do you ever think about anything else whilst wearing it? I just bought an alpinist gmt (the blue one) for a grand..and I have this problem.
My AD just laughed, its not a model, its a marketing exercise.
I don't love it but I suppose it is a flex still. Something about that shade of green doesn't look great to me but who doesn't appreciate a solid block of yellow gold!
“It even more so doesn’t make sense.” I loved that haha
It may not make sense but I love it. If I had Scrooge mcDuck money I’d totally want one. Alas, I have stainless steel money at best.
You can get a similar look with the stainless steel BB58 by replacing the original bracelet with the one made for the Tudor Ranger model (with the new T-fit clasp and without the rivets). It is a pricey upgrade but the new look and functionality are amazing
Why did you leave out the most important spec of them all when you displayed the Case dimensions? where is the L2L ???

For me it is the ultimative F.Y. watch 😁 And I would buy it, if I would have the watch-money to do so. Best regards Oni
40% off pre owned. The gold leather model sells for 40% off so will this
The strap should have been rubber in olive green.
Black dial would be better than olive green
Flop - people will assume it's the bronze one.
Yeah I know it's not green but who TF are you going to run into who actually knows the difference without you telling them?!
It's an all gold hulk, not even Rolex makes one of those.
Ultimate flex? To who? I agree it would be cool to see in the wild but you'd see it and think, why didnt they just get a gold sub?
And also throwing 27k at something that will go down in value being care free with your money is not a flex 💪 that’s an idiot

It makes no sense. 27k buys you a platinum 1908, a 5227 Calatrava or a solid gold 16618 with cash left over to buy a steel
Tudor.

Rolex probably doesn’t want Tudor stealing ANY market share of their 18k Rolexes (which have their best margins) and thus priced it very closely to their solid gold lineup.
Thjs watch is so useless... Remember it was one of the only 5 releases by Tudor this year... How many will they sell ???
Nah no way 🙅♀️ 27k for a Tudor that’s going to be worth 20k as soon as you walk out the door . Be Interesting to see how much discount the Tudor AD will offer on this
Soon enough gold Rolex subs and GMT’s will be offered at a discount so the gap between the price of this and a precious metal Rolex will be less ..
Love Tudor but a) I’ll never have the money to spend £25k+ on a watch and b) even if I did, there would not even be 0.00000001% chance, or thought, of spending it on a Tudor, gold or not
I’m disappointed that Tudor released something like this. Tudor shouldn’t be gaudy.
Imagine a person that acquired this watch on a strap and now buys the bracelet for 17.000 CHF. It's really hard to comprehend.
Poor form.
I can tell you really want one, it's ok, I do too!
It's not a flex.. it's stupidity 😂
Why buy a Rolex look alike for 27k?🤣
That's just dumb
Odd question, but what sweatshirt/jumper is this. Having a surprisingly difficult time trying to find a classic gray sweatshirt that fits well. Thanks
Not sure the Tudor is a flex? Big and gold can (ironically) look cheap. Platinum or white gold is the quiet flex.
Frankly, I love it. This would sit way above the Rolex when it came to my desirability levels. It just suits my style much better. That said, I would be all over the GO, personally.
Ahhahahahaha
Mr Barker sell your Pelagos and BB and buy that beauty Ahhahahahaha 🤣😎!
I’ll be waiting when they start showing up in AD’s 👌👌👌👌
It always amazes me how much beauty and precision are added to the parts of MAMACOO's watch 99% of people will never see.
Maybe...MAYBE....it will be cool in 30-40 year from now.
What is happening with that caseback? It's see-through but no engraving on the movement...looked like a flat disc or something?
What does your brain do when you wear a solid gold watch? Do you ever think about anything else whilst wearing it? I just bought an alpinist gmt (the blue one) for a grand..and I have this problem.
