The fact that they moddled the propellers on this thing is a testament to the level of detail Project Aces throws into these games. Keep in mind that's one of the things the player will never see in a regular playthrough of the game
The thing is, that's not how design works. You don't design a model like this typically on the basis of "what will or won't the players see" (unless the item is a piece of land geometry). Usually someone models the entire thing as it would be. Not only that, but what if there was a section where the propellers would be seen? it'd be weird for them not to be present. So it only makes sense that they'd add that to the design.
@@PANCAKEMINEZZ I'd imagine it could be more practical to model only the top half, as that really is the only part that'll be seen. Possibly barring the introduction cutscene in TMRP where the Alicorn breaches the surface and turns to fire upon the friendly warships, or in the final segment of TMRP where Torres orders the back of the ship be flooded, or after the Alicorn detonates, causing the bow and stern to raise out of the water. But then again, most players probably won't get close enough for it to matter.
I am willing to bet that those large openings @ 02:15 are exhaust ports for Caterpillar MHD(Magneto Hydro Dynamic) drives. Makes sense as all these rail guns would need a lot of power, hence it would have a powerful reactor, and why not make use of some of that for two MHDs?
Recruit: Alright, i’m here. Where’s your office, Captain? Torres: You’re in it. All ahead full. Lieutenant: All ahead full, aye. (The Alicorn moves away from the harbour and into the open sea to Still)
was esxepting to find torres's room with white crisp sheets on his bed

Not the mention the fact that’s it’s also a friggin aircraft carrier!
And it has a giant railgun that can airmail nukes.
Holy shit, that is one giant rail gun in the middle.
Yes
Yes, as shown in DLC mission 3
4:51 that is a tactical nuke launching railgun built for the expressed purpose of taking the lives of millions.
In an elegant and definitive manner, no less.
Beautiful.

When fully submerged
That's what she said
Alicon is 495 m (1,624 ft) length and 116 m (381 ft) wide, It is bigger then Typhoon class
@@VioletWyvern It's bigger than the 'Faxi subs from AC5!

If it were brought into the real world, it would not only the largest submarine on earth, but the largest ship to ever roam the seas.
So you just predicted Alicorn's superweapon before mission 3, interesting...

Does this remind people Full Metal Panic series TDD-1 ???
Awesome upload, really enjoyed watching, thank you for sharing!
thank you!
Please analyse the alicorn in dlc mission 3?
Just an average Sukhoi 33 1 million bucks to bet it's not any different
@@nova1726 in its final faze you can see all the guns, in the outside and fully functional
For a submarine there is a disappointing lack of torpedo tubes
Exactly what I was thinking
A worthy opponent to the Outer Haven submarine in MGS4
I'll Call The Superweapon Railgun A "Electromagnetic Rail Cannon".
It’s 250 vls system as well
New type submarine carrier
New yes, but the concept already existed since ww2, Look up the Japanese navy Submarine-aircraft carrier, i believe its the inspiration for it
The aa gun looks like an AK-630 Duet in this weird cyan
No torpedo tubes? :(
Name of the music??

@@Wuuff thx
Honestly seems like a big target and a waste of money, but it is really awesome
