I love Ibanez as a brand. That is one of my favorite jems. Thumbs up!! Because of this Video I just bought one from Reverb. You are the man. I love this Jem!!
OH MY GOD!!!!! What a GREAT Composition! This is one of the most moving pieces of Guitar Music I've heard in YEARS!!!!!! I'm a Big Vai Fan. Just saw him in Monterey, CA last month. That piece is so Good, I'm convinced it's a Vai Song that I've never heard???? Great Job MAN
Thank you! I think the maple neck is pretty neat, it’s a little different look than other Jems but it’s a high quality instrument. Certainly plays and sounds like a Jem.
@@Ranch5150SkinWalker Thank you man! Bought it yesterday...available until Ocotober...but from your review, worth the wait! Keep rocking I susbscribed and will be checking your channel for new content!!
I picked this exact guitar up minus the case at a pawnshop in excellent condition for 500 bucks. I absolutely could not leave without buying it. They had it for 1200. Then they had it for $999 had been there for probably close to a year I would say, the guy told me look if you want it we just want it out of here and could not leave without it. It did not have a trem bar or a case but man what a Guitar.
I think Ibanez serial #'s are the easiest to read and understand. yours for example. Built in Indonesia at Cort (Cor-tek), in 2017 , in October and it's the 9,313th guitar built that month.
i wished they still use those soft cases instead of gig bags now.. I was highly disappointed when I got my Jiva which said came w/ a soft case and it was just a gig bag and now I'm seeing more and more of these "premium" guitars coming in the same gig bag. But, then again I wish the Genesis came w/ at least the gig bag.. But, I guess costs on everything in todays world is just to much to keep the cool extra things coming. i didn't even get the multi tool set w/ the Jiva. All I got w/ it was the gig bag, the whammy bar and that was about it. Now I'm conflicted between this and a Genesis Rg550. I'm wanting a decent Ibanez w/ a maple fretboard as I don't have any maple fretboards in my collection. And these are my top two choices, but the Genesis is made in Japan and comes w/ the original Edge but no gig bag/case and no after market pups. but it's about 500 dollars less than this Jem, but for 500 more you get what I think is a "cheaper" Trem, but you get the floral Jem w that awesome blue inlay and Dimarzio pups and a gig bag.. so what to do, what to do? Cause w/ the 550 first thing I'd do is swap out the pups (which I did w/ my Genesis rg 570) and buy a hard shell case which will run me about 350-400 bucks extra so I'm in that same price range as the blue floral.. So for me I guess it's which would I prefer the original Edge (which is probably the best trem ever made) and a guitar made in Japan.. vs. the really amazing looking blue floral Jem w/ Dimarzio's? might have to flip a coin on this one.
Edge Zero II... The letter " I " in the serial number denotes Indonesia. I have this one ... I wish they would have used the original Edge trem. I don't hate the EZ-II trem, but for the money it should have an edge I think. They have them on the Genesis models and they are a grand. I also have Ibanez JEM70V-SFG Seafoam Green .. I paid about the same for both but this one does have the Original Edge trem. Ibanez has started cheaping out on their mid tier guitars quite a bit over the last 4-5 years...IMO. The return of the lap joint on the neck really was a disappointment. Great videos ...I just found your channel today and have watched quite a few.... You have me gasing on the Soda Blue Satch model, that color is beautiful.
Thanks for the comment. Seems like the name of the game the last 3-5 years is to keep the profit margin high while balancing prices and the way they do it is small changes with slightly cheaper products like you mentioned above. You see it now a days with 1000-1800 guitars with no case or bag. Cheaper trems and pots. In some cases pickups too. Thanks again and I appreciate your comment. 😎
He wishes! Haha. Nope good ol Dave Friedman from Hollywood. It would be funny if Marty had his one Friedman amp lol. It'd be the Marty Friedman Friedman! 🤣🤣
I was thinking to get Schecter Sun Valley Super Shredder FR but recently saw thise guitar, man it looks beautiful. What would you think about my choice between this ?
Hi i bought this same model in May of 2021. I had to return it in Feb of 2022 because the high E string would get stuck in the gap of the fret and the neck. They couldn’t fix it so they gave me a brand new one. but now i noticed the neck has a raw finish without the gloss which ends at the beginning of the headstock. Is your neck glossy from the body to the tip of the headstock? I emailed them and they said thats normal.
The wood might shrink if you live in a dryer environment than where the guitar was made. All you needed to do is to sand the edges with a small file. I have the same guitar and had the same issue, but I think I'll change the frets and refinish the neck.
Thank you! Fractal AX8 in stereo straight in to a Focusrite Scarlett (2 channel) and ProTools 11. I have modified the Friedman BE channel a little to my tastes. Little more gain and delay. Also tweaked the internal cabinet IR and proximity setting. Also I have a EHX Cockfight Plus wah wah pedal in parts.
Hi, friend! I have a question, between the jem77p that you have and the premium jem7vp, which is better in quality, durability, sound and stability???? Thank you so much
Same quality. I think made in the same plant. The 7vp to my knowledge has evolution pickups and 7pp are gravity storm. Kinda depends on what your preference is. I like both.
Thanks man! I forgot to mix the track before I attached it to this video ... I wish it was mixed a little better but yeh, thanks! And it sure does sound like a Jem!
This should come with the original edge trem. Very disappointing. I have an rg550 from the late 80's and it has the push in original edge trem and I've never had a problem with it.
This guitar is made for shredding, and it took me so much time to adjust to it. The action is meant to be as low as possible. Hitting the strings even a bit harder and it starts to buzz. If you want a guitar to bang on and wave your hair, this is just not it.
There's no way I would to pay such money for an Indonesian guitar. Hardware is perfect so why are they cheaper than US or Japanese? Bad woods. I had an Indonesian Ibanez bass guitar that tuner screws broke into the wood. 1400 dollars for a Japanese Jem that would be fair! So, make Indonesian guitars Japanese again!!!
