That's the mighty Cornell Dupree playing electric guitar and Jerry Jemmott ~ another legend ~ on bass. They are famous for playing the live version of "Memphis Soul Stew," but we would be remiss for not mentioning the great session musicians who cut the original studio version of this killer track. Namely, the amazing Tommy Cogbill (1932-1982) on bass and the equally-legendary Reggie Young (1936-2019) on guitar, both of whom were in the studio session band at American Studios in Memphis, known as the "Memphis Boys"... it would take all night to list all of the hits on which those guys played....
King Curtis would be killed in three months from that time. 14 blocks or less than a mile from John Lennon's murder. They both however were killed between the same blocks Columbus Ave and CPW . King Curtis was from the same city as Lennon's killer and his killer's father name was Curtis . Both musicians had other similarities , King Curtis band opened up for the Beatles at Shed Stadium in 1965 . They were killed 9 years apart
.... I´D LIKE TA SEE THAT ROCK-SPIDERING D. ARSEHOLE TRUMP TO DANCE TO THIS TUNE WHEN HE ALREADY IS SUCH A LAUGH FOR US EUROPEANS ANYWAY .. GOD BLESS ALL F R E E MEN ..

Oh my god
Cornell is decimating, but Jerry Jemmott is slaughtering!
Is that the bass player?
@@jitsroller yes
James Jamerson influenced Jerry Jermott.
King Curtis, the saxophonist, was stabbed and killed that same year in August 1971. So sad🤦🏽♀️
Such a waste
Too many artists who died way too early 😔
I hear traces of dolly dagger. Hendrix all over this
Jimi was influenced big time by Dupree. He's one of the beacons.
@@wigdaddy yes.
@@wigdaddyHendrix had a spell in the band pre fame
It’s too bad Jimi couldn’t sort out any kind sobriety.
