Soooo I did it a month ago because of this video. I have no regrets, I wish I would have done this years ago. I can actually wash and style my hair now and still enjoy my days. Like I used to dread washing my hair, detangling etc. It would take an entire weekend to get through my 4xyz hair. I was turning into a scarf bum and not looking like anything. Now I literally feel better about myself and can maintain my curls. I love it. Don’t beat yourselves up girls ❤️

I UNDERSTAND!!!! 4z here (My hair made up its own category) You can blow dry my hair and then in 5 minutes it shrinks back UP. I understand woman I understand!
Update since post-8 months going on a perm. This is after being natural for over 18 years before it was popular. I’ve simply transferred The TLC I gave my curls to my straight hair (protective styles, moisturizer, trim, etc) and it’s healthy and growing fast! I even have my edges lol. It was a tough decision but now I can do both sleek styles and natural styles, and everything in between. Grooming is so much easier for me now without the constant tangles. Good Hair care is #1 no matter the texture and my natural hair taught me that. I LOVE my “4z” curls but sista needed a break. Do what you feel best ladies.

Same!! It’s so annoying.. I’ve wanted to get a silk press for so long.. but I know it would be a wast of money as my hair reverts to its natural state so easily 🙄

shanice walters Had it done before a couple of time. Even with heat protectant, it might change your curl patterns (damage it) a little. I get 4 to 5 days top with my texture.

Exactly mine is 4z too and I’m over it man. I can only comb it one way which includes lots of gorilla snot and and got 2b glued gel, braids only last me 2 weeks plus it expensive to get done. If I don’t gel it down or braid it then I’m running to my mama to give me prison cornrows so Texas here I go.

I’ve been seeing a lot of videos of women texlaxing their hair and having to explain themselves so so soooo much for what they are doing. gurlllsss you don’t have to explain anything. You should do what you want to your hair without having to explain yourselves as long as you have healthy hair and you are happy then you can do as you please. I have natural hair and I love my natural hair but hey I might texlax it, just like I braid it, crochet it and whatever. Do as you please and be happy ladies!!

Yes! Cause I did for 6 and that was enough for me and mines was 4c tightttt! Always knotting because of the course. It’s really soft too. I love it. I could cry cause this journey has been hell. 4c girls have it the hardest cause our shrinkage is crazy.

Success! I just followed your routine to make my 4a/4b hair looser. I just came out of the shower 20mins ago! I added conditioner to the mixture and also added a glug of olive oil and left it on for exactly 10 minutes (including application time) and it took my hair to a 3b. It came out perfectly! Thank you so much!

Just an FYI: Always apply the chemical to the root area last. Why?.. Because it processes there way quicker due to the heat from the scalp, n ya don't wanna risk over processing or having the 'poodle affect' (hair at the root straight and the rest curly).

Can’t wait to do this, been thinking about this for a few months now, been natural for nearly 11 years now and learned soo much about caring for my very thick full 4C hair, I’m soo ready to be able to the washing, conditioning and treating my hair in a matter of hours as oppose to it spanning over a full weekend in stages, i.e, taking out plats, detangle, puts in to twists, wash, condition, treat, wash out again, LCO, style or plat etc it’s exhausting to say the least 🥱 definitely will have a lot more time on my hands 🤣🤣

I characterize my hair as a 5...new level. Your results are awesome. I am thinking about doing this. When you said you were unable to even part your hair I felt that. For me there is no such thing as detangling. Trying to only made it larger and more tangled. I may try a tex lax. I have been natural for 6-7 years and love it but dont love the unmanageable nature at all.

The Mizani is technically a relaxer but I think because of the short amount of time (literally one minute each section) it gave a texturizing effect

Thiiiiis. This is a video I needed to see and I'm glad I did. I decided to wear my natural hair for a bit this week. At work, people were surprised cause I wear wigs all the time. I can't with my hair....I just cant. I can't part it. Its hard to comb and overall annoying when I do wash it. I have overly thick, longer than normal 4c hair on top and then a weird looser curl pattern underneath. . I call my hair Brillo pad hair. I've been thinking about doing this so it's more manageable.

I look at it like this: ain't nobody gonna come help detangle this hair, so we gotta do what we gotta do!
I have 3C, super tangled hair & it's so wiry! It might as well be 4C because because it takes so much to show off the curl pattern. I have to slather on so much product and my hair is so stubborn!Detangling actually gives me headaches! I can detangle in the morning and it tangles right back up in less than 2 days! So, I've decided that I'm doing a Tex-Lax later today!!! I haven't relaxed since Sept/Oct 2013. When my hair was relaxed, it always curled back up in the neutralizing phase! My former cosmetology instructor analyzed my hair for me as "resistant curly", which ends up looking like a loose Jheri Curl. I've been thinking about doing this for a few months now. 2020 has changed my views on so many things! I wanted to wait an even 7 yrs before taking the plunge! It's 10.1.2020 & I'm ready to bid 2 hr detangling sessions farewell! 😁

I know exactly how you feel. I originally went natural simply because I went to a beautician and my hair started to fall out but before that it was long and healthy. I cut off all my strands and decided to just stay natural. Since going natural I've only worn my hair out twice and those 2 times it was a struggle! My hair is extremely thick and if you try to put heat to it its like it doesn't understand heat. I've been considering texlaxing instead of relaxing because I too want my curl pattern and it requires waaay less products. Thanks for the video.

💦💦 I'm buying this tomorrow. Been natural for yrs, but due to health issues, the texture changed for the worst. I recently tried a popular product line to condition my hair. I thought it would help but it made it sooo much worst. I'm so done. I've done my research so this product will be my last resort. Hopefully, it will help to soften my shoulder length hair. If not, shaving head.-(

Please be happy with your texlaxed hair because if your 4c hair was breaking while you were a natural no matter what you did to avoid breakage. The texturizer was for you but after repeated touch ups will your hair become damaged? My hair was damaged after two years of relaxers of going to the hair salon. Being natural is not for everyone. You might be one of the few women that can take hair relaxers. Good luck with your texlaxed hair and you seem to be very happy with your hair. So that is all what matters.
