I love when she did this while Skype-ing in C1 and everyone was like "Ashley, what time is it there? How long until you have to be on set?" "... Like five hours"
@@jeremyalspaugh6843 Or she just truly loves D&D. lol. There's been times where the group I ran with started at 7pm, and next thing we knew it was 11:30pm.
Imagine being the DM that constantly sees his players not wanting the game to end. It must be such a good feeling to be that appreciated and the effort recognized!
All the time it takes to set up the story, combat scenarios, the little maps and so on, and then *execute* on it all and remember everything, it must be pretty satisfying when every one of your players is hooked and wants more. A man could go mad with all that power.
He has great fans who want him to feel good. So they ham it up when the session ends. Its a great way to let your DM know how much you appreciate their effort. Some DMs really need to feel that love.
As a DM, you want your Liams and Talesins who take your world so serious that it brings people to tears. You want your Sams and Travises who bring incredible absurdity and fun to every session, and you want your Marishas and Lauras who are ever paying attention to details and moving the mission forward. But above all, you need your Ashleys. They are the ride or die heart of the campaign. They're the ones that stare at you with wide eyes as you reveal a twist and hammer the table with their fists as you bring a session to an end. I don't know anything about Ashley outside of her being an amazing actor, but I bet that her love of performance came as much from the love of pretending as it did from the fame or paycheck. She's one of the real ones.
She was there for the last 50+ straight episodes of campaign 2. Those episodes, starting a dozen-ish episodes before the covid hiatus, through the end of camp 2 was the stretch where she settled in and where she was just... there, every game. You could see her getting more and more comfortable (with her character, with combat, with herself) every episode during that stretch, during those social distanced episodes. It was lovely to see.
@@TahiriVeila13ABY to be fair the first half of campaign 2 that she missed was DEF felt. she even mentioned in the last live QnA that she def thinks there was more to unravel with Yasha, that she couldn't touch

I can imagine that if Matt Mercer ever needed a pick me up he could watch this video and see how absolutely mesmerized his friends are with his world and story telling. How much they are laughing, how worlds cares are gone during their game. And know how beautiful their game is for their group and all of us as well. I think it would make him happy
Started watching this like "damn that's a lot of reactions" I'm 1:30 into an EIGHT MINUTE VIDEO Just goes to show the amount of passion she has for D&D
Her crunched up angry face is the best reaction! All of their reactions are the best reactions XD Is there a Travis version of this? One for each player?
Really though, people being that genuinely upset that the game is over has to be the best feeling in the world for a DM. You can hear the joy in Matt’s laughs.
Yeeeahh.. but looking at how she reacts, i really dont think that played a part in her wanting to keep playing. It just looked like she was so invested in the story and the game that she just didnt want to stop playing. Otherwise you'd see a more somber look on her face.

Ashley gives me the same vibes that I get when I am playing a game(BG3/ other RPGS) and I have school or work the next day and I have to end for the day it's soo sad.
If I've learned anything from critical role, its that as a DM I hope to leave every session with someone in the party like Ashley. Excited for whats next. Thats when you know you're doing a good job as DM.
I almost never crush on celebrities/popular figures or strangers in general, It’s just not who I am, but I think I have the biggest of crushes on Ashley Johnson.
there was one where sam picked up that matt was wrapping up and marisha knew that it was going to happen and sam to but they didnt want to. is very hard to find but is cool because marisha knew it was coming and you can even see her trying to come up with a way to make it longer in her mind

I started watching recently and of all the cast I thought she was the most… I guess out of place is the right words. I didn’t dislike her but she wasn’t doing much. But now she’s 100% my favourite of them all. I would be just like her if I played 😊.
I see myself as such a player. While the others are already getting tired and complain about not being able to concentrate anymore, I could always just go for another 2 hours at least. It's a shame really that we don't play that often, as they all are so "busy", sometimes we don't play for months... I'M so happy Baldur's Gate 3 was released, now I can get my dosage of DnD that way. It's not the same, true, but it's something.

Yeah I remember her being up super early in the morning. Poor ashley :/
Yeah, it was for a big baddie. I think Matt basically said, “we can’t keep playing Pike for her just so y’all have a healer.”
Episode 32 of Campaign 1
I love Sam's common "YOU RAT BASTARD." It's a nice addition.
Rat bastard is an underrated insult in my opinion
matt: and that's where we will end tonights session
Ashley: i would like to rage.
Matt is so patient. lol its like he's wrangling children who don't wanna go to bed.
She wants to make up for all she missed out on in C1 and C2.

It’s funny, I was just thinking that before Matt ends it she almost has a Meryl Streep vibe, after he ends it all I see is child star Ashley. 😂
I'm WAITING for the day she says, "Ten more minutes" and gets those ten minutes
I love the chorus of 'noooo' every time. Shows how much they love the game and how good a DM matt is
LOL I was not ready for the transition from the embodied elegance of Emma Frost at 5:27 to the bucket-hatted summer camp teen at 5:33.
I think her and Travis are the ones that enjoy watching the theater kids play the game just as much as playing themselves.
As that same person, I love this and it's super accurate..

I love how feral she gets sometimes. I feel like you could make this video for each cast member too. Hopefully there are more.
she has no idea what's happening but she's THERE FOR IT
Her mind literally goes: “fck I’m going to kill Matt” to “wait if he dies I won’t be playing again next week”.

Ashley is literally a player you want at the table. Someone that wants to keep playing.
Honestly its so fun seeing how Ashley just reacts to everything.
I hope she gets to play to her heart's content, no matter how many campaigns it takes.
