I use one of your tips (actually several), I have two different Yeti Loadouts. One for trout & one for smallmouth. Works great! They fit under the front bench of my boat. I am in East Tennessee so salt water trips aren’t often, but I have a small (small b/c saltwater captains get touchy about things like lots of luggage) boat bag when I get to hunt saltwater Species!
Thanks Alvin. My boat is in a canal in my backyard 2 min ride to the main body of water I fish. I still find ways to waste time before I leave and before I get my line wet. I will try to use some of these tips to get out of my bad habits.
Got you on email now Alvin. Great information for a schmuck like me trying to catch tiny browns still with wet flies. Also thank you for that leader building video. Between that and Lefty’s light trout recipe I made my first leader ever today. Worked beautifully so again thank you so much. 👊🏻(Also I proved you right and didn’t pay attention and double surgeond the butt to tippet and it kinked a bit, thank god it was barely and still worked lol. 😬)
Great tips as always! I do all you mentioned that apply. I hate rigging rods at the lake..thinking I could be casting already. 😂 I do a Lot of float-tube fishing, and pump it up Almost to complete..then a few pumps when at lake to get it full..don’t want it to pop in truck if it gets hot and expands..also add a few extra pumps when finishing because after floating a few hours the cool water will take a little of the tightness and buoyancy out. Sorry so long. Thanks again. Have a great one Alvin. Fish On! 👍👌🎣
Good video topic. I'm going to add in a checklist ... as it ties everything together when you're doing your prep the night before. I keep one on the computer for editing, as circumstances and strategies can change with many factors, but a printed copy is the bomb.
1. Don't stop for snacks, beer, coffee, weed, etc. 2. Whatever flies you already have are fine. 3. You don't need a new leader. 4. Don't wait for your flakey ass friends. 5. Set your cruise control for at least 10mph over the limit.
Been binge watching your videos on smallmouth and redfish and I was wondering if you could do a video on finding spots to cast in a river system for smallmouth or what you look for besides structure and cover?? Love your content btw
I get all my gear ready the day before, including the boat. I've gone fishing with people that wasted half the day or more futzing around with stupidity that should have been done already. Get up, throw some clothes on, get in the truck and GO.
Just listening to Alvin's laugh, you know you'd have a great time in his boat.
For real. I love Alvin's personality. Such a jolly man to listen to. Always makes me smile. Fishing with him for the day would be the bomb.

That is a great idea. I am a fan of lists!
You are always full of good ideas, and ya got to have good hot coffee ☕️☕️😉
Got some coffee stuff coming tomorrow!
Thanks Alvin
Thanks for watching!
Stop messing around and catch some fish!

That will definitely waste a lot less time!
#4. I quit doing it.

Great suggestion!
Thanks for the tips!
Thanks for watching!
Tip #6: Prep your coffee maker the night before and set the timer to have your coffee already brewed when you get up!
Pro tip!
We wait until winter when the lake freezes! Much easier to walk on the water then downside not many fish on the ice ya gotta get real deep.
😂
Curious what your pre-rigged setup in the 4runner looked like. From the roof or sitting loose in the back?
I used to have them hanging from the roof. Now I just lay them down. Getting a pick up soon so I'll be looking at different options.
@@AlvinDedeauxFlyFishing excellent! Thanks for the quick response. Need to look into this until I get a permanent external setup
Gonna acquire gear anyways…😂. Truth!😊
Somebody had to say it!
You forgot how to convince your wife to let you fish more often
But first, coffee
Tune in tomorrow for coffee!
I even get that ready the night before.
@@notsure7874 Me too!

Truth!
The real hardcores sleep in their waders.
#1 - Live in a van down by the river. 🤓
The absolute fastest way to get on the water! ,,,😂
