Solid points B-dub! I personally have ventured into more real estate videos and small business promos due to covid. I personally want to be more consistent on youtube however I just don't get gigs consistently to post anything! lol
I love these Business Monday videos, please keep them coming. I would really like to see one about the paperwork. What I mean by that is the legal documentation of financial freelance work (Film Crew: Cinematographer, Gaffer, Video Business, etc.). So breaking down everything from Crew Deal Memos, Contracts, W9, I9, 1099, etc. I feel that not a lot of people or creators speak much on this subject and it would be helpful to a lot of people out there starting out in the film and content industries.

Dude, you've been saving my bacon. I quite my job on Christmas to pursue my own business. At first I thought it was going to be freelancing, but in finding your stuff I've been so encouraged to do what I love with film making, that I'm dedicating my business to that. I'd love more business tips as I'm just starting and would rather make as few mistakes as possible, since I've got a wife and babies to care for.
Bec careful this is one industry where you dont want to quit your day job. Because now everyone's niece and cousin is a youtuber and cinematographer. Bec they have a camera....so thats all you need. So everyone is fooled into thinking anyone can do it. The only people making money are the ones promising to teach you HOW TO MAKE MONEY WITH VIDEO bec they know its everyone's pain point, so it rakes in views and the only one making money is THEM.

Edit: and it’s only been a year since that post. It’s not hard, honestly. I mean, it takes hard work and dedication, but compared to working a 9-5, I’d never be able to do that. I’m still not rich, but my wife doesn’t have to work, we’re both home with our babies and I’m making it happen for us. It’s pretty great. Am I worried I won’t find clients this winter, sure, but I’m excited and have a ton of faith.
I literally got to interview major figures, including Trump family, and big name politicos this summer. It’s all about YOUR level of dedication and willingness to risk it all.
Only the 1st one is useful for me but I like the idea of volounteering for church. I might look into that. We really need to help people keep their faith strong.

My video production business just got finalized with the state today and is finally official! I actually have live audio video experience and I was a cameraman and director for tons of live concerts and I've been wondering how to make it mobile. I've always thought about the second way you mentioned for myself with the experience I have, but how and where do you market yourself that you provide live broadcasting services?
Do you have any bts ideas for your broadcasting day? It would be awesome to get more of a look at your thought process and method of filming a live event!

Worked/working for my church for all of 2020 for free...by myself...during year 1-2 of picking up a camera. So much work, but dealing with burnout.

Brandon, Seetec question. Had any trouble connecting the laptop to the Seetec? I can't get a signal that will remain passed a blip to show Keynote presentations. Brandon, any ideas? Anyone else? I have one of the latest MBPros tried various HDMI cables, USB-C to HDMI, and with a couple different capture cards.
How is that zoom effect achieved where you speed ramp a forward movement (walking through a hall) and the blurr extends from the edge of the screen to the center? Directional blur but circular?

Stingy churches in my area. Spoke to a church to make their official promo video on PRO BONO BASIS...and only requested they pay the shoot day's equipment overhead of $130 equivalent in my country....EVERYTHING ELSE IS FREE.........preproduction....storyboarding.....cinematographer....full post color grade edit free. Just bec we are Christians and didn't mind the church benefiting and we could just add some more videos to our portfolio thats all, thats my benefit. Mind you we do proper paid work and have my website with around 15 good professional advert films on the gallery already. When asked the parsh priest for a formality advance of $30 just bef we start work so that they have some commitment too, the parish priest pulled a evasion act....wont pick calls...etc the usual jing bang, LOL. Mind you im a govt regd legit company with a proper company account. Just saying....:) I told the priest everything upfront and he said YES YES and wasted our time with long discussions.....photos of the church being sent here and there and we working out ideas how the film will flow, its all work right.
PS : I shoot with a mavic pro....GH5....multiple lenses....ronin.....motorizer sliders....action cam.....6 godox pro lights.....reflectors.....flags....the whole 8 yards at least. This is the plight of video production. His cousin mustve said he can do it since he has a CAMERA and he's on youtube.
