- Dr Nick Linker, Consultant cardiologist,James Cook University Hospital, discusses the use, implant procedure and aftercare of implantable loop recorders.
My dad is getting this procedure this morning.Right now as we speak.Pray for us👐👐💙💙
I have a corn on my foot ..it was a little tender whilst I had the device fitted. The corn was more uncomfortable than the device being fitted..it took 4 minutes. 5 max. The numbing was no more painful than a bee sting. I was extremely impressed. No recovery required .left hospital after the tech side was set up..and drive home. If I had heard this video first..I'd have been nervous. It's very quick and they are brilliant.
I have one of these in my chest now. The incision is so small I can barely see it. It stung a little when they numbed me up but that was it. Nothing to it. If you have to have one of these don't worry about it, there is nothing to it.
I agree. Ust got one put on today. Only the second number shot hurt a little. The first numbing shot numbs the area and the second shot is deeper. Really no pain and you definitely dont feel the procedure. It's all over on 10 minutes prep and surgery. We will see how it works
Thank you for your information I will be having one in inserted in two weeks time it's good to hear from people that have actually had it done I'm not worried now. And I really think it's worth having done to get a better quality of life
I've had it done. I won't say anymore apart from avoid a trained doing it mine had to be done twice!
Thanks for the reassurance! Getting one next week.
Mine was very painful afterwards but the actual procedure for me wasn't painful at all.

my husband have it for two years now and the doctor said that he wants to remove it, i don't know if this is neccesary
Stella Atuesta Is that because nothing has shown up?
👍🏾
I am having one on 2/5. Pretty nervous about it. When they say "some discomfort", how long is that for? Can you see it? Like a bulge under your skin?
How did it go? Getting one next week.
The procedure to fit the loop was horrendous! It was hideously painful and the doctor said it was the worst one he had done! Being told it was just a 'simple 10/15 procedure and not painful' was a complete LIE! He used a trowel like instrument and even got a larger size half way through.I am having it removed because it is in my breast and not upper chest,( I am female). The doctor said if I need a Pacemaker or something in future it will be a full anaesthetic. It feels like a cigarette packet shoved into my left breast, it is awful.
I am glad to see it isn't just me!! I had mine placed Friday and DEAR GOD IT HURT!!! Mine was not placed next to my chest wall but rather in my breast tissue. I am not sure if that makes a difference, I am no doctor. I can tell you that sleeping and accidentally turning too much, it jams into the mattress or my pillow!! The other night I thought it would of popped right back out of the incision it hurt so bad. I hope they hurry up and find out what is going on with my heart and get this thing out of me.
My story is the same as yours. Their not getting it back!
So sorry you had such a horrific experience, no reason for it to be that awful. It is normally very simple and quick ..
Human experiments.
Exactly
Have you got anymore into on it. I've got one and l half believe it.
