Professor Oak sent Red on his journey with his Squirtle, watched a movie during his lunch break, then received a call saying Red got all eight badges, brought down Team Rocket, defeated the Elite 4 and Blue. Imagine the shock on his face xD
Federico Claros Um, actually no they're not, so, either you're... albeit poorly, attempting to troll here or are genuinely stupid/misinformed! Please educate yourself.
Could you imagine Red's mom in this universe. She just said goodbye to her son and he calls her two hours later to tell her he's already the League Champion. Lol
Kinda' makes you think... those Gym Leaders spend their whole lives to get where they were... only to be defeated by a kid who just recently became a Pokemon trainer but a mere 2 hours ago...
Oak: Here is your first Pokemon! Now remember, you won't be the best instantly... So if you lose a fight don't be too upset! X: Okay... see ya! Thanks professor! *1 hour 54 minutes and 56 seconds later* Oak: I wonder how x it doing right about no- ~TV~ News Reporter: A boy by the name of x has just raised to the top of all Pokemon trainers! Oak: ... Noooo fucking waaaay!
Red actually holds the record he completed it in 4 episodes, each 20 minutes. He defeated team rocket got all eight badges and became the champion in an hour and 20 minutes
x (the player ) remembered to give the thirsty girl on the roof of Celadon Department Store a Fresh Water in exchange for TM13 (Ice Beam ) and a Soda Pop in exchange for TM48 (Rock Slide),but he forgot to give her (and also buy) a Lemonade. The girl would have given TM49 (Tri Attack ) in exchange for a Lemonade.
*In Generation I ,Squirtle really learns Bubble starting at level 8. *In Generation I ,Nidoran really learns Horn Attack starting at level 8 and Poison Sting starting at level 14 in Red/Blue.
***** May I say that you are partly wrong. You are surely speaking of Generation IV onward .As I said in my previous comment," In 'Generation I',Nidoran 'really' learns Horn Attack starting at level '8'".If you want to know,in Generation III,Nidoran (male) learns Horn Attack starting at level 20,not 21,and ,in Generation II ,Nidoran (male) also learns Horn Attack starting at level 8. P.S.:I took all the information for this comment(and for the previous one) from Bulbapedia, which is a reliable source .
Around 13 minutes battling the Weedle you said "Ah it critted. It would have killed if I didn't crit." What do you mean by this? Is there some weird Gen 1 glitch where Horn Attack crits do LESS damage?
Austin Sivret 28:34 He mentions that because of faulty mechanics of the game and the stat boosts badges give, every string shot was increasing his attack. So in fact any normal attack was more than the 200% damage of a crit.
I thought I knew Pokemon Red pretty well, but this is a whole new level. I love the skipping exploits, I had no idea you could do that without breaking anything.
The part of the run from entering Mt. Moon up through defeating Misty is good but not amazing. It would be possible to save enough time there to get 1:53, but a lot of stuff went right and you would need all of that to not go wrong as well.
+Trunks858585 In Gen 1 (Gen 2 as well if I'm not mistaken), the X-Accuracy item completely skips the accuracy check, making all moves hit 100% of the time.
I was up last night trying to see if i could beat the record with a charizard and after beating the game and catching mewtwo i was done and i leaped for joy as i saw my timer at 1:51:41 however i realized to my horror that i had forgotten to record it and that the current world record is 1:51:00. I swear next time i will record it and post it so i dont have to forget the difficulty of speeding through red at 3:00 in the morning
That's true the only thing you have to go on is my word which, based off the bs other people can say, is not reliable, but i swear that that was my actual time unfortunately i can't post it because my camera can only take pictures so since i have no other way of proving that i beat the former world record, you dont have to believe it, but i know what i managed to do so whether or not you believe me is only your opinion and i respect that, i hold my timer as my personal achievement
If you think playing on emulator is giving extratricky a higher fps, it doesn't matter - if the game was played at a faster speed, the in game timer would be similarly faster so you wouldn't gain any in game time.
Squirtle is the best to choose for speed running, because it's a water type that can also learn ice type attacks. And Water type has only 2 weaknesses, which aren't that much of a big part in this particular game, there are a lot of grass types, but you don't encounter them very often in the major parts of the game, and there are some really really strong electric types, but you almost never face those. And I said before, it learns Ice Beam, that's Lance down already.
female nidoran is a different pokemon. It has a different learnset from leveling and different evolutions... just because they are related doesnt mean you should expect it to be the same... then they would have done as with all the other pokemon and not made 2 versions :P
In gen 1 it's possible to miss moves by gaining enough exp to skip the level where you learn them, for example nidoran going from 7 to 9 at once would never learn horn attack. Maybe this happened to you?
Roy Sunshine You are right. In Generation II(aka Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal ),Falkner definitely has a Lv.9 Pidgeotto, which is impossible because Pidgeotto evolves from Pidgey starting at Lv.18,and Lance has two Lv.47 Dragonite and one Lv.50 Dragonite, which is impossible because Dragonite definitely evolves from Dragonair starting at Lv.55.But,let me give you another example :in Pokemon Yellow, you can find Lv.9 Pidgeotto in ViridIan Forest ,and Lv.17 Pidgeotto in the grass on Route 6.
In Generation I ,Paras can actually learn both Dig (TM28) and Cut(HM01).But,in order to use Cut,you could have traded your Spearow for Farfetch'd,which can also learn Cut.
Seeing as how much noise this player makes when fighting battles reminds me how much I spammed the button as a kid thinking I'd get the first attack. lol
I was about to ask was this on stream, because it sounded like you were talking to people. And if that wasn't obvious enough, you put a link to the twitch video in the description! What a tard I am
***** Maybe I''ve been misinformed but I'm pretty sure you'd actually go slower by the game's clock (because it speeds up too and the little pauses and mistakes are amplified as a result) and there would be a lot more chance for error lol
nice run! I didn't even think this was possible?! What was the thing you mentioned about Blaine, the volcano badge increasing the special or something? what are the game mechanics there?
Professor Oak sent Red on his journey with his Squirtle, watched a movie during his lunch break, then received a call saying Red got all eight badges, brought down Team Rocket, defeated the Elite 4 and Blue. Imagine the shock on his face xD
He walked REALLY FAST
Federico Claros Are you real
Federico Claros Please deposit all your Pokemon games into the nearest trash container and never buy another Pokemon game ever, thank you.
Federico Claros Um, actually no they're not, so, either you're... albeit poorly, attempting to troll here or are genuinely stupid/misinformed!
Please educate yourself.
Federico Claros Yeah ok you're a really bad troll so just gonna, not.
Could you imagine Red's mom in this universe. She just said goodbye to her son and he calls her two hours later to tell her he's already the League Champion. Lol
12:17 Cashier: "Take your time"
You smart ass.
I think I've heard him pushing the B button somewhere between 0:00 and 1:57:47.
I lol so hard 😂😂 omg he is so so annoying i couldnt even watch anymore a huge thmup's down on this awfull video
Kinda' makes you think... those Gym Leaders spend their whole lives to get where they were... only to be defeated by a kid who just recently became a Pokemon trainer but a mere 2 hours ago...
Started playing in 98 with yellow when i was 6, still playing it today. Crystal version will always hold dear to me.
Oak: Here is your first Pokemon! Now remember, you won't be the best instantly... So if you lose a fight don't be too upset!
X: Okay... see ya! Thanks professor!
*1 hour 54 minutes and 56 seconds later*
Oak: I wonder how x it doing right about no-
~TV~
News Reporter: A boy by the name of x has just raised to the top of all Pokemon trainers!
Oak: ... Noooo fucking waaaay!
The fastest run for me in pokemon red is 6:49
Looooooool
saul valle And im god. Bullshit did you.
GamingPigZ ! no like 6 hours and 49 minutes I'm not trying to set a record or anything.
6:49 Means 6 minutes and 49 seconds man.
good god im more scared at how many attempts and rigorous grinding time it took to figure out how to complete this game so fast
Meanwhile, TwitchPlaysPokemon lol.
He beat the game with Nidoking. Please leave now Ttube
***** I think the joke was he's being super efficient while TPP is the exact opposite.
its a inside joke between me and ttube
I'm only 7 years late for this conversation
I'm not sure why I spent my Sunday afternoon watching this. Glad I did, though.
friday night here! hahaha
its sunday afternoon here to lol what a conciedence 2:30 pm
Red actually holds the record he completed it in 4 episodes, each 20 minutes. He defeated team rocket got all eight badges and became the champion in an hour and 20 minutes
its funny comparing this to twitch plays pokemon... This is world fastest and twitch is the worlds slowest
Oak "You've grown up so much since your first left with squirtle"
Man it has only been 1 hour 50 min !
what you hear during the vid: MASH MASH MASH MASH MASH MASH MASH xD
+The Pyro after i saw your comment every time he MASH the keyboard i remember it and laugh
+The Pyro I keep hearing them as hitmarkersounds...
+Jinouga Hunter lol
That opening of the video though, all I heard was pounding on the keyboard.
Dude, you have an admirable endurance when it comes to button mashing, lmao.
Nothing to do today. Lets just finish Pokemon in 2 hours.
And then the Speedrun community put the black glasses at the same time and they're like "Ez Challenge"
In 39 seconds he did what I couldn't do until my second day of playing.
Leave the house.
you have this down to a fucking science
the button mashing = sounds of my childhood
I think I was still delivering Oak's parcel at the 12 minute mark just sayin, and this dude is done with Brock lol
"I assembled teams that could beat any pokemon type!"
Nidoking.
I learnt more about Gen 1 niche mechanics in this vid than I ever did playing it haha
Walking
Encounter
Taptaptaptaptaptaptaptaptaptaptaptaptaptap
+Navasis speed runner appears attacks and escapes!
If you replace all the t's whit f's its a whole different story
My god that button mashing xD do you have epilepsy or some shit xD
lot of praticing on PornHub
Cuccolover A new keybord for each try ^^
"Done like dinner."
The juxtaposition between that and the intensity of this run killed me. xD
What's that "green Nidoran split" he was talking about?
Doesn't that round to 1:55, not 1:54?
Very impressive. I've been playing for 8 hours, and still haven't made it to Lavender Town
Might Help:
Nidoran: 06:35
Brock: 11:35
Mt. Moon: 27:36
Misty: 41:04
Surge: 50:18
Pokéflute: 01:10:32
Koga: 01:25:21
Erika: 01:30:57
Blaine: 01:34:04
Sabrina: 01:36:12
Giovanni: 01:40:12
End: 01:56:08
3 years ago, wow. Thanks anyway?
In Generation I,Nidoking can actually learn Thunderbolt,Rock Slide,Earthquake, and Ice Beam by TM.
x (the player ) remembered to give the thirsty girl on the roof of Celadon Department Store a Fresh Water in exchange for TM13 (Ice Beam ) and a Soda Pop in exchange for TM48 (Rock Slide),but he forgot to give her (and also buy) a Lemonade. The girl would have given TM49 (Tri Attack ) in exchange for a Lemonade.
watched the whole thing and im really impressed
so basically. Nidoking > Kanto
When you want to be a champion but dinner is ready in the evening
Can we get a video explaining how you do this?
He explains as he is doing it.
TheNathvar *tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap*
MY FRICKEN FAV POKEMON GETS SOME LOVE! :D FINALLY.
Sure the Marowak departed...WITH THE POKÉDOLL!!!!!!
0:23:39 Congratulations !Your " evolved into NIDORINO!"And I really enjoyed watching your male NIDORAN evolve .
This is beyond impressive.
Nah.. It's wat playin pokemon in your moms basement til your 30's looks like
or he's good at math. he seems to play efficiently
electricLadyland you don't need to be good at math to play a Pokemon game. Lol..
0:25:29 Congratulations!(again) Your " evolved into NIDOKING!"And that evolution was really awesome !
*In Generation I ,Squirtle really learns Bubble starting at level 8.
*In Generation I ,Nidoran really learns Horn Attack starting at level 8 and Poison Sting starting at level 14 in Red/Blue.
Actually, Nidoran actually doesn't learn Horn Attack until level 21 according to the wiki... How the fuck do you get it at level 8?
***** May I say that you are partly wrong. You are surely speaking of Generation IV onward .As I said in my previous comment," In 'Generation I',Nidoran 'really' learns Horn Attack starting at level '8'".If you want to know,in Generation III,Nidoran (male) learns Horn Attack starting at level 20,not 21,and ,in Generation II ,Nidoran (male) also learns Horn Attack starting at level 8.
P.S.:I took all the information for this comment(and for the previous one) from Bulbapedia, which is a reliable source .
wtf is a green nidoran split
Its where he beats his previous time to actually capturing it
ALL HAIL THE HELIX FOSSIL! XD
no rocket game corner...? no cinnabar mansion...? And 100% hit rate with horn drill? This ain't the full red version...
***** He never went to the mansion and how do you skip the rocket game corner? You have to get the silph scope somehow.
First thing he does when he goes to Cinnabar 1:26:34
Kevin Aguilar how did i miss that? thanks. But what about rocket game corner?
***** That's bull crap. You should have to go through that in order to consider the game completed.
xNED37x
There's probably a different record category that involves no major exploits.
1:55 would be the most accurate time for this speed run, but this is still really impressive
1:02:53 Meet the headache inducing suicide causing music of the world!!!
Around 13 minutes battling the Weedle you said "Ah it critted. It would have killed if I didn't crit." What do you mean by this? Is there some weird Gen 1 glitch where Horn Attack crits do LESS damage?
In gen 1, critical hits ignore ALL stat changes, not just negatives. That would include an attack boost or a defense decrease.
BlockyTG But since he only leered once, lowering the Weedle's defense to 67%, wouldn't it just be better to get a critical hit with 200% attack?
Austin Sivret
28:34 He mentions that because of faulty mechanics of the game and the stat boosts badges give, every string shot was increasing his attack. So in fact any normal attack was more than the 200% damage of a crit.
Oh, I thought it meant 1 minute 54 seconds... I didn't even look at the time of the video.... fail. Well done anyway!
yeah me to :D
Ash Ketchum same
I thought the same as you guys, great minds think alike eh haha?
you can with hacks and I couldnt see the full title
Dikzak
Yeah man, ive seen them guys who can complete the game with the game clock at 0:00 haha! I cant do it personally but it can be done :)
All Hail the Helix Fossil.
Making nidoking look like a god
Still my favorite video! Much love! ☆
I thought I knew Pokemon Red pretty well, but this is a whole new level. I love the skipping exploits, I had no idea you could do that without breaking anything.
0:36:07 "With your ability, you could become a top leader in TEAM ROCKET!"That's funny because the main character is the hero, not a villain.
The nugget bridge was a team rocket recruiting operation... What else did you expect him to say?
Hah hah, compared to Werster's 1:55 of Pokemon Yellow, this guy was so chill about making the Pokemon Red WR.
Either way, well done. kappa
The part of the run from entering Mt. Moon up through defeating Misty is good but not amazing. It would be possible to save enough time there to get 1:53, but a lot of stuff went right and you would need all of that to not go wrong as well.
what am I doing with my life?
watched this video in one go lol shit was really entertaining usually dont watch 2 hr videos without taking breaks
why does his nidoking learns bubble beam , and thundershock? how
How is Horn drill always hitting?
+Trunks858585 In Gen 1 (Gen 2 as well if I'm not mistaken), the X-Accuracy item completely skips the accuracy check, making all moves hit 100% of the time.
+Trunks858585 X-Accuracy
My favourite Pokemon.
The badass purple Kyurem.
The horn of chaos.
World Record is now 1:51in game time. Werster achieved it earlier today.
Adam Gutierrez-Tellez how do we know you dont try to cheat us?
Is it faster to choose Squirtle or something?
Maybe because the first gym is weak to water types and makes it easier to start off? I don't know I am just having a guess.
it is faster to chose squirtle on a perfect run but their are more variable with him then nidoking.
And I said before, it learns Ice Beam, that's Lance down already.
it beats brock fast with bubble.
Can also learn surf unlike all the other starters
clocks not meant to start till you gain initial control of character
Was supposed to go to bed 3 hours ago, but RUclips brought me here! I'm not even mad.
Wow.......what time zone are you in?
UTC +1! Was able to get out of bed in the morning! #worth!
How did you learn Horn Attack at level 8?! I keep doing what you're doing and he won't learn it not even after level 16!!!
jay are you playing 1st gen? cause it should learn it level 8... bulbapedia confirms it
female nidoran is a different pokemon.
How can the rival have a Lv.16 RATICATE ? RATTATA does not evolve into RATICATE until level 20.
Actually, the new world record with glitches is in less than a minute, by Werster again, with a corrupted item pack and Pokemon list.
Oops forgot this was glitchless...
TAPTAPTAPTAPTAPTAPTAPTAPTAPTAPTAPTAPTAPTAPTAPTAP WIN ^^
I am amazed at the enduarance of the keyboard!
In Generation I ,Paras can actually learn both Dig (TM28) and Cut(HM01).But,in order to use Cut,you could have traded your Spearow for Farfetch'd,which can also learn Cut.
I love that you can hear the button mashing
I thought he was gonna complete it in 1 minute 54 seconds
Seeing as how much noise this player makes when fighting battles reminds me how much I spammed the button as a kid thinking I'd get the first attack. lol
Can you explain why did the battle with green had battle animation?
The game turns them on for that battle. No other reason.
I have failed, but Congratulations that you have beaten the World Record.
Oh my gosh !You caught a Spearow on Route 3 rather than on Route 22.
0:23:29 "What? is evolving!" Of course your Nidoran was supposed to be evolving as soon as it reached level 16.
OK. 25:20... you evolving it that fast? I thought after Misty it would happen.
I didn't know u can just x accuracy horn drill :O
Why does he deposit his pokemons before league start? Great run :)
what the hell is a green nidoran split?
1:42 "I received a Bulbasaur!"
Why is a crit horn attack bad?
OMG that fake horn drill I always, ALWAYS missed and he never misses!
He gives Nidoking X-Accuracy, which, in Gen 1, gives 100% accuracy throughout the duration of the battle. Same with other X-items. Hope this helped :)
bluecamel786 Gen 1 was the weirdest thing ever lol.
Weird, but fun :)
Yes, it helped, Thanks.
In Generation I,Nidoking actually learns Thrash starting at level 23.
u defeated the whole elite four with only a nidoking. ur the pokemon master
In Generation I ,Nidorino can actually learn Water Gun by TM.But you could have used TM12(Water Gun ) on A(your Squirtle) .
I was about to ask was this on stream, because it sounded like you were talking to people. And if that wasn't obvious enough, you put a link to the twitch video in the description! What a tard I am
How come all runners of glitchless are totally confident on the horn drill hitting 100% of the time? Without even using X accuracy
Nice DUDE YOU ARE AMASONE !
Very impressive! Now, where do I go to get an emulator like yours, OP?
Yeah, why DID the animations show on thefinal battle?
EVERYTHING IS HORN DRILL. ALL HAIL TO THE HORN DRILL KING
This was the original 50 shades of grey?
You know, it's much faster with VBA's speed button
XD
that's cheating
*****
Maybe I''ve been misinformed but I'm pretty sure you'd actually go slower by the game's clock (because it speeds up too and the little pauses and mistakes are amplified as a result) and there would be a lot more chance for error lol
PiMan3141592653
o_O
dude it was a joke
I just watched this whole thing ouch my eyeballs hurt :(
in what minute did you find pokedoll

nice run! I didn't even think this was possible?! What was the thing you mentioned about Blaine, the volcano badge increasing the special or something? what are the game mechanics there?
