That cutscene hit hard. The reversed roles get cayde sees a different man from his killer. One full of regret and confusion as to how he’s seeing a man he gave a final death.
I’m sure you’re aware but he’s finally back. He got to see his killer face to face but instead of vengeance he seen a new man. Regretful of what his past life done. I hope we see more of the pair and cayde will officially pass the mantle of hunter vanguard to him. After all he said the one to kill him would have his place. It’s also gonna help crow move on knowing cayde forgives him for what happened. Ever since savathûn showed him what he done he’s been regretful
my memory tends to be terrible, I'll forget the simplest things or things I wanted to remember, but this, this moment, this DLC, this character this death I remember this. on that day, booting up forsaken ready for a new adventure only to see a beloved character, a light in the darkness up to this point. dead I remember that flame that was lit inside of me, the ashes from that still burn almost waiting for another stoke and maybe something similar will happen in lightfall but this singular moment, will be with me for the rest of my life. I dont care what happens to this game, if all my progress is erased. if the world ends before this story can finish, if I die somehow before then. this memory will stay with me until I die words are incapable of expressing my gratitude towards bungie for making me feel these things maybe this will be lost in the ocean of the internet but if somehow this reaches someone who worked this DLC. no matter the job. I thank you. truly
After the layoffs this is either the best or worst aged comment I’ve ever made. Thank you for everything Mr. Salvatori. Destiny won’t be the same without you. :(
I took up the cloak of Cayde-6 when I went to face his killers. Taking up the cloak of a comrade is a vow amongst hunters. I vowed on that day to burn as hrightly as Cayde did, to cast back the darkness as we all did, and continue to do.
If you think about it, most of the Scorned Barons' names also apply to Cayde-6: (Except for the Fanatic and Mindbender, of course) The Trickster- Cayde used the sandbox to his advantage. The Machinist- Cayde was good with electronics and machines. After all, he was a robot! The Hangman- You could say he let Uldren and the Barons rot in the Prison of Elders. The Mad Bomber-Cayde had a little sadistic side. The Rifleman- Cayde was a very good gunslinger, obviously. The Rider- Cayde once beat Yaviks the Rider at a race.
"If you learn nothing else, learn this: when a Hunter picks up the cloak of a dead comrade, it is a vow." - Hardcase Cloak, Destiny 1 For Cayde. EDIT: Farewell again, good Hunter. May you and Sundance rest well together. Thank you for everything.
This DLC was the last time me and the lads played Destiny seriously man. I miss that first week where everyone was running around in the dreaming city under leveled helping each other complete the activities. And exploring, finding the ascendant challenges and the first ever dungeon. Shadowkeep killed Destiny for all my irl friends and the game just kinda fell off from there. But this, this was when Destiny was at it's best right here back in late 2018. To me this song isn't just a reminder of the death of Cayde, but a reminder of the last time that Destiny was at it's best and now I know the game will never be what it was 6 years ago.
In the Forsaken expansion on the title screen. Could also be heard at the end of the Scorned story mission and when playing the Io mission to claim the new supers.
The final shape is a worthy successor to this wonderful dlc.
I really love how this music went from the sadness of losing Cayde to the epicness of avenging him.
Rest in peace, buddy
About that
@@henicyde1427 LMAO
This aged well
@@turbulencegaming7518I mean he ain’t wrong. He was killed and we did Avenge him.

Helps to let you know if a track can play anymore.
Unfortunately The Man They Called Cayde is one of those tracks completely vaulted.
@@destiny_music_archiveThat is such a nice detail. I really appreciate the work!
@@destiny_music_archive Nice helpful detail, and it is a shame they don’t keep this song
I miss this. I miss Cayde. Y'all got to know him for so many years. I only got to know him for a week.
