As an Indian American, I rarely hear such strong vocals in Indian music! India tends to favor soft, delicate voices that sound sweet and have incredible agility (Indian music is inherently very melismatic), but Shanmukhapriya is bringing a much more Christina Aguilera-esque sound, much more Western vocal technique, which definitely favors strong belts, growls, vocal fries, whistle tones, and almost operatic vibrato. It’s new to hear that in Indian music!

I think now she wants to go next level and that's why in North shows she is singing mostly this type of songs.. she has a strong classical base and sang several songs including a show where SPB was a judge.. she is exceptional in all types of songs.. infact I'm surprised to see this side of her, bcos we all in telugu already know she is a super singer..
