Personally I’d stick with the 383. Small blocks are on the cheaper end by themselves, and the 383 stroker ain’t that much more. What you get out of the 383 is just absolutely phenomenal.
I second this, i got help putting together a street 500hp 383 stroker build sheet on a forum and the dude's truck he drag raced that motor plus the weight of a 3rd gen is a rough 10.5 second 1/4 mile drag car that's streetable, its also built so i plan on running 200 shot just to push it a little further into insane rather than stank nasty
Those 502 crate engines with straight headers, is one of the craziest sounding/feeling engines ever. That engine is insane, a buddy of mine, his dad had one in a 70 chevelle/El Camino SS. He stored away all the factory 396 engine and matching numbers trans , and dropped that 502 in it, traction was not even an option.
My buddy had an 80's Z-28 with a 350(274 cam)headers, stall, 350 trans.w/ shift kit, dual exhaust from the headers, 3.73 gears. It was the baddest Z around!!!🤜🏿🤛🏿
I am currently building a 418" small block chevy 400 stroker for my 1986 Iroc and I think that it should give 90% of LS engines the blues. Another advantage of 3rd Gen. Camaros is that these cars are very light especially by today standards
Hey bro I have a 3rd gen Camaro I think I blew the head gasket I’m thinking of doing the ls swap but I’m short of cash right now. Is it worth getting the 383 crate or just save up for an ls
@@iceegogaming8060 I'll put it to you like this I am heavily invested in small block Chevy parts however if I was starting from scratch I would go definitely with a LS
@@WestcoastCreole yeah that’s what I was thinking, any recommendations? I’m kinda learning in the fly would you recommend just getting a crate lq4 or something or go to the junk yard?

I don’t know much about cars but I woke up this morning wanting a 3rd gen as a project baby and conveniently enough you end up posting about one, can I pro charge this Camaro?
If on a budget, a stock 4BBL 400 small block with some gears, shift kit, and dual exhaust from the manifolds (trash that Catback!) will have that Z movin!!!🤜🏿🤛🏿
4th gen camaro also a good option, they cheap cause people like tha TA more so get a high mile one, 5.3 swap and t56 swap. Boost if you want and you make a healthy 500-600. A lot less wiring too.
Especially those fugly ones from the mid 90s. They are very aerodynamic but butt ugly. So nobody would really expect someone to build a race car out of that body style
Honestly as a iroc owner who is anti auto trans, I think they skimped out harder with that weak 5 speed it has. And I'm kinda scared to build my motor without having the money to do a trans swap too because I don't want a 3400 lb car I can't drive. Kinda hard to build on a budget it seems.
Bro your telling me mine still has the 2.8 v6 in it. I haven't found any motors within my price range to try and build upon. And mine is the base model so I got none of the good stuff. But I got crank windows!.
Naaahh...if u want to do more than light to light and drag strip...if u want to cruise 60/70mph on the freeway with a hand on the ol lady thigh in 20° or 120° then 5.3/4L60, 6.0/4L80, 6.2/6L80 is the move. U dont miss oversrive til u dont have it
I promise most people would know how to react to a real 400hp. ....5.10 lift is all the cam you can run in a gen5 big block, how bout budget friendly combos friend?
BETTER YET AN MORE ROOM. YOU CAN BUY AN SHORT BED SINGLE CAB PICK UP AN IT'LL DO JUST AS GOOD. THERE'S WAY MORE CHEVY PICK UP OUT THERE THAN CHEVY CAR'S THAT WILL TAKE AN STRONGER MOTOR THAN THERE CAR'S.
As a another black car enthusiast I find your videos very welcoming and informative and informational keep up the awesome content
Thankyou so much that means a lot to this southern cat!

He has talked about that 383 Stroker before, a nasty engine for many applications like my neighbors 1971 El Camino

Yep I put a 383R stroker into my El Camino, made about 530hp at the crank. Turn key crate engine was about $7k.
The iroc-z and 91-92 z28s are some of the coolest camaros ever made. Timeless design!
You mean 1982-1992
@@1980sSinaloense they stopped iroc after 1990 and just kept the z28 name, that's why i wrote it that way

That's what I'm talking about, I'm getting kind of excited.
Keep the 3rd gen videos coming #215philly
Now you got my car on display. Good shit dude.
My great uncle just let me have his 3rd gen Camaro for the freeski I can’t wait to eventually build it up
I've seen people throw a LS3 or even a LS9 under the hood of a 3rd gen and it thing rips has so much potential
Just bought a 82 firebird. Watching your videos are giving me ideas
Im building one right now
This will be tonight's dream for me. 👍
Ls swap is the best option shares same chassis as the fourth gen that comes with a factor ls !! Great video

You should do a video on the dodge small blocks, like the 318 and 360

Buick 3.8 V6 from the 90s
Do a v6 mustang swap options
Hell a stock LS swap would give you more power than what they came with
Bro something told me you was from Tennessee
Bro do a segment on the PONTIAC G8
Blackcarguru can you make a video of the srt8 jeep or have you already done that
You forgot to mention it shares it platform with firebird
Have you got any proof you know how to build a motor?
How would you spice up a box gmc typhoon
So the tahoe 2006 5.3 is the LS i can use for the swap right? Thinking of junkyard huntin lol im impatient.
What exactly is the wiring harness? Please explain as if I’m 18yrs old.
