The hydrostatic transmission has the following components; variable displacement pump that is hooked up to lines to either a fixed or variable displacement motor. The pump which turns in one direction and has to have a change of internal parts to make it go round in the different direction.
The motor can go in either direction.
The hydrostatic transmission, the machine control can be done with a single operator control which gives it a smooth, speed and direction changes. Putting the control in neutral (0 swash plate angle) stops transmission output that gets rid of the need for clutching mechanisms. You will still need a service or parking brake.
