    This is amazing. Why doesn't this have way more views? Something interesting is how I just saw a lecture with Dr.Paul Mason who was explaining that fiber is not necessary for health or even regularity. So many differing protectives in medicine and science. What I've noticed is that some things like red wine have amazing benefits but also many negative effects that make it difficult to say something is all good or all bad.

    • @lindab4152
      @lindab4152 2 года назад +3

      Totally agree! I truly like Dr Gundry, but found that plants, esp those with oxalates, were causing me sooooo many problems. When I eliminated them, using the carnivore diet as an elimination diet, so many issues just simply resolved. The fiber thing is truly a myth, at least in my experience. And TOTALLY agree that “heart-healthy red wine” is rediculous. My liver is so grateful I gave up that toxic substance. I think it is far more important that we remove toxic foods from our diet than spending any amount of time/energy/money adding thngs to counter the bad things going into our mouths. Carnivore-ish way of eating has made my 73 year old body feel like when I was in my 40s. Listen to your body! Good luck and good health!

    As always - great advice.
    My mother has been obsessed and at war with Candida Albicans since the 70s/80s ! Sadly though now she has dementia at 89 and cannot remember much that way or look after her health.
    ( she ca no longer really read either and she was an avid reader on all things health and nutrition ) Still... she always has a book on this organism by her bed 😉. I'm trying to reduce her sugar intake but it's so difficult with the fact that I'm not her sole carer and the others won't comply. They say give her what she fancies ( she won't be here much longer)
    The other difficult thing is that practically All of her food must be blended to a fine consistency as she has dysphagia and pharyngeal pouch and chokes constantly. It is work but please God we can keep improving her life quality and diet is sooo important.
    I'm going to play this for her on loud speaker now.. ( she's nearly deaf too, 😅)

      If the Advice helps, according to Dr. Gundry a big problem can be the lack of bacterial diversity in the gut. He offers Akkermasia and others I think through his website. Predigesting the food is generally a good idea but can also irritate with certain vegetables (even if you are healthy). Remember to put olive oil in, it helps me digesting from begginning to end.
      But nothing compare to loving kindness, what lead me to this information in the first place.😊

    Anti-aging is like running with all your might and discovering that in the best case you stay in the same place..
    In my opinion, the goal is not to become younger, but to age healthily, with a clear brain, good shape that able to travel, swim, play ect. without pain,
    to enjoy life in the deep meaning,
    and remain independent until the last moment.
    It is possible that in the future science will learn to replace the diseased organs and turn us into cyborgs.
    I doubt there is anyone here who wants to live forever...

    Lets just start by implementing common since into our diet, more healthy fats, no processed vegetable oils and, no processed foods and less sugar. Forget about all the guru's that found the fountain of youth, they all contradict eachother in some way or at times completely. Also don't forget to work out and stay mentally active.

    • @sakra123
      @sakra123 Год назад +3

      In my opinion, the contradiction stems from the fact that no two people are the same.
      Each of us has a unique genetics and microbiome, so foods that are good for one may be harmful to another.
      The principles you talk about (less sugar, less processed food, less refined oils, etc.) are the basis, but there are those who will have to wean not only from sugar but from gluten, another shows sensitivity to lactose,to a third meat causes inflammation in the body and so on.
      The correct method in my opinion is an elimination diet, where everyone checks which foods bother them and removes them from the menu.
      In a few years, all medicine will move from protocols to individualized medicine.
      Not only food will be personalized, but also medicines.

      Because everyone is different.
      That's the genius of fasting... You learn what is best for you. I vary my fasting schedule and don't keep up with the windows by only eating when I am hungry. So if I get hungry but can't stop to eat I just extend my fast. If on the other hand I only have 10 minutes to eat then I eat in 10 minutes.
      Take your time, do your research and find out works best for you and your body. It's all trial and error.
      Fasting is NOT a diet. It's a lifestyle change. Fasting is learning to eat less. In America we overdose on food, eating too much and too often. Remember information (applied knowledge of what works for you) is the key. From there gleam what helps you reach your goals and throw out the rest.This is a marathon and a lifestyle change or you will be right back here trying to do a quick fix. Don't beat yourself up for slip ups. Just reset and start again. Detoxing and learning how to live differently isn't easy but well worth it.

      I also find it totally confusing. I definitely think time restriction is good, like 18 hours between dinner and your meal the next day. But honestly you got doctors absolutely touting carnivore so hard, then you got all the establishment that want you to eat massive amounts of grains which make me sick personally. Then you have the tuff school and harvard camp that want you to eat tons of seed oils and scream that red meat is pure evil. Everytime I fast for 24 hours then eat grains Im farting like crazy with a stomach ache. Then you got Gundry who basically eat vegetables and fish and fruit only in season. Then theres doctors that say its good to eat fruit almost daily but just the berries. You have various groups posting weak studies basically like constant hit pieces against the groups they disagree with. It's a complete mess. The food industry is writing checks left and right to the ADA and AHA. The ADA's website is a big gaslighting campaign that for the longest time refused to acknowledge type 2 diabets is reversible. Other country's equivalent websites are the same, total lies and gaslighting. Its like a massive circus of competing theories and us common folk feel like we are stuck in an endless maze.

      He doesn't look old to me. I have visited Dr. Gundry and seeing him personally he looks pretty vibrant. I shook his hand, and his grip was strong. He was somewhat robust but not overweight at all. I am one of his patients and have seen him once a year for the last 4 years along with his physician assistant Mitsu Jacoba. I have personally improved dramatically since adopting his approach in which I tweaked after reading each of his books. Starting at 60 years old through 65 years old I went from 250 lbs to between 180-189 lbs fluctuating through the season. I had high blood pressure on medication and after two years my blood pressure is now normal and on no blood pressure medication. I had severe brain fog most of my life with frequent drifting, nervousness, and a low attention span and could process only about 70 percent of the world around me. I had difficulty making decisions. I literally had tunnel vision which increased the risk of having car accidents because I would unknowingly drift. I also had chronic fatigue. I was also pre-diabetic, had the beginning of heart disease, had arthritis in both knees and in my right shoulder. I had seasonal allergies and hay fever. Once I went on Dr. Gundry's Plant Paradox Keto Intensive program, I gradually improved over the 5 years and had cured myself of all those ailments I describe and more. At 6'1" tall I am muscular and fit at 65 years old with unlimited energy. I eat a variety of foods on his "Yes Lists" and eliminated everything on his "No Thank You Lists" which meant eliminating processed foods and factory raised meats. I eat much more variety of whole organic plant foods as well as occasionally wild caught fish and sea foods, only organic fruit and berries in season and take supplements Dr. Gundry recommended based on blood work. I am now able to work out without pain. I literally de-aged. Dr. Gundry knows what he's talking about and teaches you how to tailor your eating habits to your body.
