The funny and confusing thing about City Shrouded in Shadow is that *NONE* of the monsters, mechs, or heroes actually cross over or interact with each other. Never once does is there ever a moment where Godzilla fights an Eva Unit or Ultraman in it at all, which makes it less of a crossover then it actually is. So yeah, don't expect an Eva vs. Kiryu battle if you're planning on buying the game for that reason.
As a huge Godzilla fan I really appreciate this video because it helps bring light to topics that are talked about in the Godzilla fandom but not a lot of people know about. Keep up the good work!
Somethings I want to add about a couple topics .Bride of Godzilla? is that it was actually one of producer Tomoyuki Tanaka's favourite scripts. Early on in the process of writing Return of Godzilla (around 77-80), Tanaka actually ordered one of the writers to mine ideas from the script, which is how we ended up with the Shockirus as we know it. Additionally a mining sequence with a giant flee in the Bride of Godzilla script also made its way into Rodan. The Bride of Godzilla? script was also found in his desk after death .There were brief talks of making a sequel commercial to Godzilla vs Charles Barkley which would've featured Barkley and another famous basketballer teaming up against Godzilla and Mechagodzilla. It was scrapped because of the likely costs .One of the artists behind The Godzilla Comic was Hurricane Ryu, the 1991 suit actor for King Ghidorah. I believe a couple other people may have also had notable careers, but I don't remember the specifics I'll probably update this with more when I watch more of the video 😅
Gods, now I seriously want a Survival Horror Godzilla Game. Where you're literally just a Civy scrambling to get to safety during one of Big G's Walks then later, Big Battles. Imagine, tremors shake the office building. People run to the windows and look out. There looming is Godzilla in the distance. Everyone runs to the exits but it's too late. Chaos ensues and you spend the rest of the game travelling from building to toppled building. At times you can look outside and see Godzilla or another Kaiju walking or fighting. Maybe even bright Beautiful lights beaming across the night, you look upwards and there is Mothra in all her magnificent Beauty. Other times you're running for dear life on the decimated streets, barreling towards cover as they all battle.

The forth commercial break has one of the funniest scenes ever 🤣
Wow, and I thought some other franchises were crazy! The Godzilla franchise is quite extensive. I like the design sketches
Absolutely Fascinating documentary!! Thank You for all the research & hard work- You did a GREAT job ( and you're Japanese word & name pronouncing was fine,LOL!)THANKS AGAIN!!!
I got reminded of dogzilla, honestly thought it was a fever dream I had as a kid. Also godzilla characters in DragonBall is totally believable as DragonBall was extremely comedic and broke the 4th wall multiple times. Ah yhe memories
I love you. You make really nice long vids with plenty of info and value in them. Thank you
I love Super Special Space Godzilla High Grade Type 2
Bagan is so strong he scares producers away.
I got my popcorn ready. This is going to be a fun near 2 hour video.
53:02 - 53:47
that's super accurate, i've seen the movie and was legitimately confused by the appearances of Godzilla and the main pilots from Evangelion, i also remember watching some of the actual show and yes... Miku does show up in the anime series as a supporting character
Absolutely loved this video bro, you can talk just fine!
You should do an Ultraman iceberg if you're interested in that franchise, as there is a decent amount of stuff in it.
The Lore is AMAZING
OMFG, I COMPLETELY FORGOT THE DOGZILLA AND CAT KONG BOOKS EXISTED! THANK YOU FOR REMINDING ME!
DOGZILLA was my jam as a kid! I completely forgot about it, thanks for unlocking that memory for me
The funny and confusing thing about City Shrouded in Shadow is that *NONE* of the monsters, mechs, or heroes actually cross over or interact with each other. Never once does is there ever a moment where Godzilla fights an Eva Unit or Ultraman in it at all, which makes it less of a crossover then it actually is.
So yeah, don't expect an Eva vs. Kiryu battle if you're planning on buying the game for that reason.
as someone relatively new to the franchise that loves to learn every random fact i can about things i like, this was a wonderful video
As a huge Godzilla fan I really appreciate this video because it helps bring light to topics that are talked about in the Godzilla fandom but not a lot of people know about. Keep up the good work!
The context to that image of still the best is that there is absolutely 0 context to it. Never will be either, and that's what makes it beautiful
1:25:36 That is my new favorite sound ever created from a human being's mouth
Its a SHAME that he only has 16k subs should have over 50k at the minimum great RUclipsr and I tell you put a lot of dedication in your videos
Somethings I want to add about a couple topics
.Bride of Godzilla? is that it was actually one of producer Tomoyuki Tanaka's favourite scripts. The Bride of Godzilla? script was also found in his desk after death
.There were brief talks of making a sequel commercial to Godzilla vs Charles Barkley which would've featured Barkley and another famous basketballer teaming up against Godzilla and Mechagodzilla. It was scrapped because of the likely costs
.One of the artists behind The Godzilla Comic was Hurricane Ryu, the 1991 suit actor for King Ghidorah. I believe a couple other people may have also had notable careers, but I don't remember the specifics
I'll probably update this with more when I watch more of the video 😅
used to absolutely love godzilla as a kid, thanks for reminding me ❤
"Extremely average RomCom Love Hina" what a statement but you aint wrong
gods godzilla is so obscure your video is the third time i have heard someone talk about it
I wasn't expecting that the first Godzilla film was aired in the Philippines.
I'm pretty sure that they even dubbed in Tagalog.
I got gump scared by that Godzilla endless runer death noise
50:52 there is a fanfic where that misconception is canon
31:35 Solomon is my favorite fan created kaiju, he’s still the best
I needed this today thank you pigpen
“GODZILLA SAYS THAT I SHOULD LEARN TO FIGHT MA OWN BATTLES Y’KNOW?” -Manilla
The micro battle portion got me, not only from your comments but also from the monument mythos reference XD
Excellent video!! 50 yr Godzilla Officianado here. I frown on most vids, but I really enjoyed this. Seriously. This is a work of art in itself. You went above and beyond in your hunt for all of this.
Masterclass.
Fuck yeah this is the kinda iceberg I live for. Actual obscure shit and not just fun facts everyone's heard 1000 times over.
I grew up with Godzilla and didnt know half of this stuff. Good shit.
I always say Bagan shouldve been the villain of GvK. Getting his licensing rights would probably have been stupid cheap. #justiceforbagan
At first, I didn’t realize that commercial with the female Godzilla was Japanese, so when they started talking, I thought I was having a stroke.
Thank you, I've been waiting on a video like this
