- We bought this old farm in the country. It hasn't been lived at in over 5 years. We have been cleaning up the property getting it ready for our future home. We hope to build a cabin on this property in next couple years.
I've been following your channel for a few years now, suddenly this video popped up in my feed. It's quite remarkable to see the amount of work you have done since this video was made. What an achievement!
I"m glad it's not just me lol I don't remember ever seeing these videos. I 've been watching for a while. :) I love seeing these.
@@merryannebrown Same here!
Same here ☺️
We have a farm we bought in 2013 and still work in progress. Couple of hoarders lived here prior and filled the place with unbelievable stuff! nice to see another farm being restored.
Yall have come a long long way 👍
I have been watching your videos for a while, and love them. My wife is now enjoying them too. We are starting to take over her fathers farm, and had to laugh enormously at the tires. We are CONSTANTLY cleaning up old tires off every area of the farm.
Yeah, came a long way from this video to today's. You two have done a tremendous amount of cleaning on your farm. Thanks and I hope you two have a good week!
Evan, looking at this old video and knowing what you and Rebecca have accomplished. I have to say, WOW!! You both must have a great pleasure in the work you have done.
Yes we are very happy with how the place looks today.
Love to see rundown properties brought back to life. Please keep making videos of your progress
Wow Wow
The difference in then and now, is just astounding! LOTS of hard work from you and Miss Rebekah!
I enjoyed watching the oldest videos too it's pretty out there. ❤
Hi.... Country View Acres, thank you for sharing your video homestead 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 🎥👍👍👍
I really only watched this 5 year old video cause RUclips's algorithm slung it in my face.....LOL. Am now really glad I did because it makes watching the more recent stuff all that much more interesting to see what these two started out with...They have really put a lot of work into what they have ........
Just found your channel and this is the second video I've watched. What a beautiful piece of property you have and I think the history you shared about this property makes it special. Looking forward to a little binge watching to see you turn it into your home.
Thank you for the memories!
I want a farm like this! Endless possibilities, work, and family fun
im disabled and cant drive so now that the kids are in school I have a boatload of free time. I love your videos and continually binge watch your other videos. I have just got started homesteading and only have 3 acres but im learning a lot watching what you have done. please keep making more videos and I promise ill keep watching and supporting you. thanks alot
You two have come a long way from this video until today. The farm is really working well for you and Rebecca and both have put in a lot of hard work to make it what it is today, so congratulations on the farm being a success.
Nice job evan
I would have paid for any old GM wheels, tad late seeing video. You should be very proud of all your hard work, place looks great.
I can't wait to find my own farm land to buy and repair it to my liking love this video
your getting there my friend....that bushhog did some nice work.
Nice old farm good job cleaning things up.
I love the layout of your land , the spot for the house is perfect , cash in all that scrap and having the equipment is also the rite way to go , all ways been one of my dreams to do what you guys are doing ! thanks for the video !
Great video, love the explanation of how you’ve managed this project and you’re practicality of utilizing older tractors👍
Wow. You have done a truck load o’ work! It looks fantastic!
Nice! We purchased a 10 acre farm, house and barn built in 1928. Remodeling it and touching the place up. Doing a lot of the same stuff you guys are doing. Its a great way to live. All the best to you
Congratulations on purchasing your old farm. You will never have a shortage of jobs that need done. Good luck fixing it all up.
Here's an idea for those tire. If you put them in places you would like flowers just lay em on their sides and fill them with dirt and there ya go instant flower beds.😉
So glad you decided to scrap the metal instead of just making a dump behind a shed like many landowners. Old tyres make great playgrounds for goats, if you are getting any to clear the brush and weed.
Very nice. A lot of work but a very nice project. Enjoy your dream. Love the pond.
Thank you for uploading videos about your new passion farm. I want to live a farm life too. I am looking for my beautiful land at this point. love your spirit! You are blessed! Thank you for exploding my feelings
Been watching all your old videos. Hope they paid you for all your work for cleaning up the countryside
The big rims are great for raised beds,,nice work well done
Just caught this old video today, Evan. I think it would be nice if you could do a history summary video, showing what you started with and each of the major changes. Just a thought…
That's a beautiful Goldie
Very nice. Congratulations on your farm & good luck with your new home.
Looks like a nice future project.
you have done a great job, in developing the farm
When that was in its hay day probably looked good.cows are great grass trimmers. U will have a nice place when done.
your property is awesome looking. all the old buildings look cool.
Beautiful Country. Gonna be a nice place for you. I love country farms.
Great job's lots of works
Looking beautiful 👌👍👏👏👏👏👏👏🤗
You do a good Job
It's a nice piece of property to work with. I know this vid is four years old and I'm a new subscriber to your channel and have some catching up to do. By now you must have torn down the dilapidated barns and outbuildings, and built your new home. Those tractors look great!!
Looking good!
Yes.it does look nice!
Looks good. ty
What a nice piece of property! Please update us!
big joe is a legend
Lovely farm and I would build a house in that spot as well
the tyres were probably used for putting on the salage pit to keep the cover on maybe keep for the next farmer
Great video, nice farm :)
Wow, there was allot on the property to clean up.
There is actually a double wide trailer that is falling in on the far side if the property that still needs taken down.m as well. But out of site, out of mind.
Use all those tires to build a tire structure. Cabin ect....
It sure does look nice, A lot of work but, job well done.
A saws all makes quick work of separating the tires from the rims. Scrap the rims.
Or sell them to folks for fire pits :)
Tires u can fill with sand & use them as a back stop for your shooting range, rims can be sold as scrap metal
Nice scoop at min 3.12 I have one. From about c.1908
thx
You should sell those old clip on duals on ebay or craigslist they usaully sell for about $75 for a pair
AND I see a old horse slip your going to junk out. Amazing.
Bury tires about half way. Paint white and use as a buffer zone. Teagards...
I would have used the tired as raised beds or borders around trees. There's so many ways to up-cycle tires.
Take the tires to a saving yeard for cars and trucks
for those tires...i would stack them up and fill in with dirt for the backstop at shooting range...you can stack and fill up then load full dirt over them as a berm backstop....save money that way....just my suggestion.
I see some people also use them as raised flower/vegetable garden beds.
Donald R. Stewart good idea!
You have a lot of work to do
Tires can be useful as Water Tanks, and Feed Troughs.
There's always tires lol but the land looks great if u tear down buildings use that old wood or sell it also old doors but love this
Yeah real nice place! How many acres? You could fix up those other small houses and rent 'em out, and build your cabin by pond. Interesting video.
I see some old International Harvester 6 bolt rims.
U cut up a 2 row SHEDDED corn picker and junked it. Amazing/ I t would have brought in your area between $500/1000 depending on pull type or mounted. There are very few left, and you junk one that had been kept in a shed. Simply amazing.
William Christopher one man’s treasure is another mans trash. We see that all the time in East TN. Most of the pastures are being turned into subdivisions. 😟
The two Row corn picker wasn't salvageable. It was only good for scrap. It had been sitting in the dirt for years. Rusted through in several places.
I would love the split rims you have on the old tractor tires ! where are you located ?
Those were bolt on rims for running dual wheels. Are you wanting it for a fire pit? or to use on a tractor?
You should make a shut out about some of the equment you have your going g to junk may be some folks on here could use some of this ? Just wondering out loud ! What state you in ?
What size are the gain bins so you still have the trailer and are you going to run cattle on the land to cover the cost
Where's this at looks nice
show more of your early post please
Just a thought, if you live in a rural area that has a voluntary fire department you might contact them and see about having them use your property for controlled burn exercises
We have burnt several wood piles and brush piles ourselves. No fire department, we just make sure the 911 dispatcher knows we are burning and controlling it ourselves.
Build house next to mosquito heaven
you have had a year now since this video. Have you finished cleaning it all up now?
I still have one more barn to tear down. We have removed all the boards that are worth saving. We saved around 70 boards. I should be tearing it down next weekend
Good luck
LOL, what model tractor is that? Iask because as a teenager in the '70s I had to operate dad's 1919 tractor when we harvested feed corn to make sweet feed for our animals for the winter. It had a hand clutch, loose as all get out. I used to just kick it forward to release it & roll forward. LMAO thanks for the memory
It is a 1959 Allis Chalmers d-17.
sweet. I remember dad's machine had no upholstery on the seat! Farmers were a tough lot at the turn of the 20th century. ty for the info & i hope your homestead is coming along nicely, blessings
I bet you tossed or scrapped some valuable relics and antiques.
Probably finding out that reprising old buildings is cheaper than building new!
how do you find these farms away from the cities you live in How do you even begin
Landwatch.com, this farm was a listed property for sale. You can search for properties with a minimum amount of acreage.
Put the tires under a brush pie and burn them then you can scrap the Metal
No !!! You don't burn tires man!!!!
Do you mind telling where in Illinois your property is? I am from Metro Chicago and my wife is from the Effingham area.
Near robinson Illinois
WHAT STATE or Country are you in????
You should poison the weeds in the old barn
craigslist.org can rid tires
Could you at least say what state you are in?
Who will take your tires?
How many acres is this property
41.117 acres

He says we alot in his videos does he have a mouse in his pocket?
That make me really sad when you scraped that corn picker and the grain wagons nobody cares about Old Farm Equipment
I love to watch stuff like this but the videography makes me very dizzy to watch.
Yeah, the filming was so shaky back them, it will give you a headache or a seizure. My newer videos are 10 times better quality.
can you not chainsaw them off ?
Why you putting all this work into an abandoned farm?
