Brand himself has traditionally been left wing, but the themes of his podcast have steadily moved in the direction of right-wing (as in Republican, not far-right) American content like Joe Rogan’s. Bear in mind that Trump himself was a populist institutional wrecking ball, who played down Covid risks etc; Brand’s content increasingly appeals to the same people. I guess it hinges as what’s meant by the Establishment. Billionaires? The Government? The media? Scientists? Big corporations? All of the above?

Brand himself has traditionally been left wing, but the themes of his podcast have steadily moved in the direction of right-wing (as in Republican, not far-right) American content like Joe Rogan’s. Bear in mind that Trump himself was a populist institutional wrecking ball, who played down Covid risks etc; Brand’s content increasingly appeals to the same people.
I guess it hinges as what’s meant by the Establishment. Billionaires? The Government? The media? Scientists? Big corporations? All of the above?

Brand hasn't become right wing. He's exposed corruption in current systems and governments on both sides. He has refused to take sides but has offered, and asked for, the possibility that people might listen to each other. This usually gets him labelled because he may discuss 'right wing talking points.' God forbid we should actually discuss anything, hey? And that's why 'they' want him silenced, because he undermines the status quo of division, because there is a lot of power and money riding on that broken system.
