Actually been thinking alot about chandler and Kevin this week. Because a king kobra escaped Skansen here in Sweden. It took them a week to finally catch him. And I was like " chandler would have done that in one DAY" 😁
That boa looks like it has about half a dozen cats ... people keep your cats inside !! Build them a catio if they want some outside time . What a beast ! So awesome !
@@98wytebird, I agree with you. Cats (I love them) are fierce fighters, that snake would have some good wounds on it. That boa is slow moving and cats are super fast, and have amazing reflexes, response time etc. I 100% agree that, unless the cat were sick and frail, it couldn't get an adult cat to eat it.
Love how all the officers came to escort the boa to Chandler’s, all of them hoping for a tour! It’s great that they have a wild man like Chandler to call when they need to, it saves the animals from being put down.

@@ChandlersWildLife Boa are very resistant to IBD. They can easily carry it without any symptoms. But when you get them close to other snakes (especially pythons).... Bye bye collection....

Boa constrictors are definitely in my top 5 favourite snakes. My one is called mazikeen and she is an 8ft puppy dog. Never had any issues with her despite the fact her previous owners mistreated her so bad she nearly died

I've seen it plenty of times... A new snake arrives at its new home, seems friendly, doesn't strike once until she's settled. Then, and only then, she starts attacking anyone that comes close. It's a strange phenomenon, almost as if snakes save their true colors for when they are properly rehomed. My male tiger retic was just like that, very docile at first when he came into my collection, then he changed.

Who knows. I had 2 ball pythons and they were both always really docile. My friend one in a similar enclosure and there was no way to pick it up by hand without getting bit.
Whether the smaller snake is new or not, both should have been quarantined individually in properly sized enclosures. This was handled poorly and I thoroughly believe she became more aggressive because she was placed in a small enclosure with a to-her-strange-snake that also probably only had 1 hide and obviously very little visual barriers.

After seeing you in Kevin's enclosure talking without the camera on the inside you may want to get a simple PA system with a mic and small speaker on the outside of the enclosure. Not to add another project to your list just something for QOL for the people.

I would LOVE to see a nice big, tall boa enclosure chandler! Boas are my favorite species to keep and that would be a magnificent sight. Def wouldn’t house the 2 boas in the vision cage though!! With a size difference like that and the big female being obese she’s likely to crush or trap the smaller boa, I’ve seen it happen too many times unfortunately... very common with boa cohabitation in small cages.

That's so strange, my buddy Rick's Egyptian cobras were all always chill AF 🤷 Matter of fact, they were the only cobras of his that I was 100% comfortable around.
I was thinking, they kept watching, in part, because they weren't sure if they were going to have to call a king cobra bite in and who was going to go in and grab Chandler's backside out of there!🤣
When you can get into an enclosure with a cobra you are doing a lot right because honestly Kevin is chilled as a cobra and seems to be used to it's owner which is amazing

Actually, one can lose their small child to this thing. Looking at it now, she's way too big for Kevin, but her babies will be good snacks. She's docile so she'd be a good educational snake for the sanctuary. Odds are all the cops showing up is because they all heard of Chandler's menagerie and wanted an excuse to get a private tour. LOL

Probably because it had just been caught and was still I'm shock, then got placed into an enclosure so it finally felt safe only to be pulled back out and messed with again. I'd be pissed too!

Boas can’t even co-Hab it’s only acceptable for breeding. I don’t think there is a logical explanation for this and it was a very dumb decision to put them in there together especially without quarantine in and enclosure that’s even too small for the smaller sized boa alone.
5:13 You can tell Kevin definitely doesn’t see Chandler as a threat. He may have slightly lunged at him as a warning, but I guarantee he didn’t open his mouth once doing it. It was more like a “Oi! Too close! Need space! Back up!” He’s such a king 👑🐍

She was probably cold when she was brought in but once she was in a nice warm enclosure she warmed up enough to be grumpy

Probably because it had just been caught and was still I'm shock, then got placed into an enclosure so it finally felt safe only to be pulled back out and messed with again. I'd be pissed too!

You placed it in a cage with another boa directly out of a neighborhood with another boa? I know they can co-hab but why no quarantine? Maybe there is a logical answer I just don’t know about?
Boas can’t even co-Hab it’s only acceptable for breeding. I don’t think there is a logical explanation for this and it was a very dumb decision to put them in there together especially without quarantine in and enclosure that’s even too small for the smaller sized boa alone.

That fer de lance is gorgeous. In Peru we call them jergon (hair-GON). I saw a five footer up by the Maranon, the fangs were quite large.
