Not sure if y'all realized it, or not, but when he kicks in the door, the abuser drops his lit cigarette in an ashtray. The cigarette he's smoking is the same cigarette, because he reaches down and picks it up, he never lights it! I love this song, along with the listener's reaction to it. I say this because I know I've probably watched nearly 100 reactions to this song, if not more. Y'all are the first reaction I've seen, that's has caught on to the fact (or maybe they saw it, & never said anything) that she's driving his truck! First time viewing y'all, but it won't be the last
If you want one that is more of his actual story about him as an artist, my song recommendation would be "the mockingbird and the crow", it is a longer song but well worth the listen and by the end I still want more of it!
Good ol southern justice, it reminds me of stories I've heard around my small town about men that were abusive goin missing with no police looking for em. There's two rules in the south, you leave kids alone and you never EVER lay your hands on a woman.
I saw Hardy in an interview a couple weeks ago & he said he got Lainey a Judge pistol as a gift. You have probably heard Lainey's name because she has a duet with Jelly Roll. 'Save me'. And his full name is Michael Wilson Hardy. He has been writing for other for years. Lots of 'radio ready' stuff & decided to start writing for himself so he can say what he wants to say, He has a twist on all his music. His song 'The Mockingbird & the Crow' describes his journey kinda. He started as a mockingbird, writing the 'expected' & & the song is like that... then halfway through, he becomes the Crow, & the music gets harder & the lyrics get harder & he starts speaking his truth. Clever lyricist.
the first time i heard this was right after a grown man tried "GETTING" my daughter for lack of a better term. and when i heard this i was driving and i had to pull over and i felt this song so hard. in that situation the cops got there before i did, but when i heard this song it embodied everything i felt that day. I would love to meet Hardy day and thank him for this song.
I've seen him live twice. He kicks ass. He's hard core. He is brilliant at bringing his songs to life. Him and his Best friend, Morgan Wallen, are beautiful storytellers!
This song is the definition of alot of small town America. If your seen hurting a child or a woman it's the last thing you'll ever do only difference is it becomes a missing person's case you'll never be found
The thing that always bring me back to country music is the storytelling. No matter how I feel about a genre or artist or style, if it’s got a good story to it I’m hooked. Glad y’all liked this one!
They performed it live at the country music awards.. it was just as good live as recorded. Hardy gives me that Southern Rock vibe like Lynyrd Skynyrd or Kid Rock. Anyway, this song makes me cry every time.
I'm the oldest of nine siblings and I have six sisters. I pray I never have to do this for any of them, not because of the consequences for me, but for what it would mean they went through. But I'd do it in a fucking heartbeat, no one's laying a hand on a woman if I'm around, especially my family. Maybe I'm just soft, or maybe its from having so many sisters, but the sound of a woman in pain or fear physically hurts me. Another one of my favorite RUclipsrs is Donut Operator and a couple of his law enforcement videos make me shiver.
Glad to see you guys checking out hardy. This album has alot of metal roots in it. The songs The mockingbird and the crow, sold out and kill shit till I die have been on octane radio
Hardy is amazing! He also has a song with Jeremy McKinnon of A Day To Remember. Some that I think you guys would love by Hardy, are: I Ain’t In The Country No More Jack (my personal favorite) Sold Out Truck Bed the mockingbird & THE CROW
This is what country music used to be about. A story that invokes an emotional response, even after the first listen. More than that, it is country because out here we have to solve our own problems. There is a Judge under my seat as well.
First time on your channel. I always felt that metal heads were super emotional dudes, so seeing Kyle with tears in his eyes throughout half the song just kind of sealed that for me.
Y’all need to check out HARDY. He is GENIUS. He dabbles in metal, rock, country, you name it. His song mockingbird and THE CROW is a great place to start
Hardy was into Rock when he was growing up. As he got older he liked the stories Country told. He's made himself rich writing songs for other artist's I was so happy when his first song came on the radio
Hardy is saving country rock! Check out more of his stuff for sure. Truck Bed, Rednecker, Jack & Sold Out are great songs of his. He's written some of the biggest country song for the biggest artists.
This is one of my favorite songs but I never make it through without getting choked up. I’m a DV survivor and I think the fact that he saves her from that pain…it’s so dark but at the same time, so beautiful to me. Maybe because I’d hoped for someone to help me out of a similar situation. Idk. It really resonates with me on another level though. This is the first time I’ve watched one of y’all’s videos so I’m not sure if it’s already been done or not, but I highly recommend anything by Jelly Roll. He does a whole ‘nother level of country that even the most anti-country people can’t help but enjoy. It’s a perfect mix of country, hip hop and rock.
The judge under the seat line is a dual reference to a 'Taurus Judge' pistol. This is a pistol that shoots a .410 shotgun shell. Absolute crap at any range (like all shotty's) but at the distance he was using it at, yeah... it'll perforate someone's melon very well. 1S1K.. One shot, one kill.
This is a true story. The man did 20 years and when he got out she still had his truck. They got married, had children, are living in Alabama and he works on the road with Hardy.
That is total BS. HARDY has talked about when he and his cowriters wrote the song. It was going to be about what would they do if somebody messed with one of their girls in a bar one night and it morphed into this.
There is a handful of songs that I watch every reaction of that I can find. This is one of THOSE songs! Right next to Hi Ren, Wrong Side of Heaven.. and AMAZING REACTION ❤
Every time I hear this song, a fire starts burning deep inside my heart.......and I remember. I almost died one night. A family friend found out what happened, and my then husband ended up in the hospital. When I finally divorced his sorry ass, I thought it was over. After 30 years, I still find myself hearing a noise, and immediately fill with fear. The physical wounds barely show anymore, but the wounds to my soul will never fade. I love this song. I just wish I'd have been the one to pull the trigger.
I just stumbled across you guys and because you were doing a reaction video to this particular song really piqued my interest. I have loved this song since it first came out. Watching y’all’s reactions was so amazing. Like me, the first time I heard the song, you both were invested in the story. You really felt it. There aren’t too many songs that tell as powerful a story. You’ve got a like and subscribe from me!
But it is all the more meaningful because he knew what was right to do even though it meant he would spend the rest of his life in prison. Another measurement of doing the right thing is what it costs you to do it.
He defended another person he didn't even know. These days he's a murderer. But that is not always the case though. A few years ago a man was found not guilty of murder after he beat his daughters rapist to death with his bare hands. There is still hope. The people who say violence is not the answer are the problem. Violence is not the answer part of the time... But there are times where it is the answer.
..."judge under the seat..." has a special meaning. The gun he used is LITERALLY CALLED a "Judge". An absolutely, powerful awesome song. Everyone can relate.😅
I have thought a lot about this song since it came out. I came to the conclusion that Hardy’s character must have been raised by a victim of domestic violence, and seen it for himself, and most likely seen the system fail to protect his mother. That is the reason I see being feasible for him to IMMEDIATELY turn the violence up to that level for a woman he had never met. He was likely too young to protect his mother, but not this woman….
I went through what she went through for 17 years. I didn’t have a Romeo, I just had me. I had had enough! I couldn’t feel the pain of his fists anymore, actually I couldn’t feel anything. But God told me, it’s time to go or you’re going to die. So, with no plan and nowhere to go, I left. It took me several years to realize I am a person just like anybody else. Yes, I made it on my own and got a job making pretty good money. I made it. But, I forgave him. We run into each other now and then, and we get along just fine. He knows he has no more power over me. I couldn’t have done this without God telling me to go, and with him helping me find my way. Thanks guys for your reaction and emotions.
He got five years of time for what we here in TX call a misdemeanor murder, or maybe a public service homicide. But, according to him,it wouldn't have mattered if he were sentenced to a life term because he did what needed to be done to bring peace of mind and justice to the victim.

Absolutely. I really wish someone would have been there to tell ME to wait in the truck.😭 I'm damaged but I'm alive, praise God. Here's to all you ladies who made it out alive. You're all bad ass warrior princesses and you're my people❤❤
You may have heard of her - her RUclips name is Just Jen Reacts and she was a DV victim. She reacted to this song and video. It's worth watching.
Yes mam it holds us close
Absolutely. It's hard. But this song is killer
Why we should pass the Punisher act. The act of defending the helpless should give you rights to do what's right, even if laws say otherwise..
Not sure if y'all realized it, or not, but when he kicks in the door, the abuser drops his lit cigarette in an ashtray. The cigarette he's smoking is the same cigarette, because he reaches down and picks it up, he never lights it! I love this song, along with the listener's reaction to it. I say this because I know I've probably watched nearly 100 reactions to this song, if not
more.
Lmao. And then they go to prison. Not worth it.
@@blakethegreatone2058 Haven't heard of anyone going to prison out here, unless the abusive person went to jail and got killed while in prison
Unless they are crooked cops
Cant forget, Dont go pokin around memaws back garden.
Amen
We southern women know when a man tells us to wait in the truck, hellfire is about to come down
This song is the definition of alot of small town America. If your seen hurting a child or a woman it's the last thing you'll ever do only difference is it becomes a missing person's case you'll never be found
My hogs eat everything lol and they are hungry
@@travismillikan38 exactly
We have lots of Alligator ponds around here, that’s how they take care of things. Better Pray the cops arrest you first, that’s all I’m saying.
The coyotes and vultures and crows and ravens are always hungry. And wouldn't you know it, old Bessy done broke her leg and had to be put down...
Hardy - Give Heaven Some Hell
Hardy - Sold Out
And I noticed that she "waited in the truck" before driving away 🤗
Only question is will she be there,in his truck, to pick him up when he finishes that five years sentenced.
@@RichardDavidson-e1z its not a 5 years sentence. he said its been 60 months not that he got 60 months
@@goodoleboy83ya, probably got 20- life. Such a dumb song.
He replaced himself in her prison. Very powerful...
Powerful? He will be in jail for decades because she wouldn't leave
Yeah, it’s deep.
The thing that always bring me back to country music is the storytelling. No matter how I feel about a genre or artist or style, if it’s got a good story to it I’m hooked. Glad y’all liked this one!
Wrong side of the truck bed. It's supposed to be country but it has a heavy metal twist. It's awesome
They performed it live at the country music awards.. it was just as good live as recorded. Hardy gives me that Southern Rock vibe like Lynyrd Skynyrd or Kid Rock. Anyway, this song makes me cry every time.
In my opinion the live version from the awards show sounded even better then the video version.
Hardy also wrote God’s Country which Blake Shelton sings .
Take a look at Daddy Was A Badass by Jesse Dayton,
Whiskey lullaby !! Need to see that emotional reaction
This is rude to blindside them with, but I fully agree.
Oh, yes!
❤❤ Yes!! Such an AMAZING song!
YES!!!
I want this so bad.
Hardy is amazing! He also has a song with Jeremy McKinnon of A Day To Remember. Some that I think you guys would love by Hardy, are:
I Ain’t In The Country No More
Jack (my personal favorite)
Sold Out
Truck Bed
the mockingbird & THE CROW
That truck is her safe place. I can personally relate
Harry Radio Song is more up your Alley! A must!
I agree! I think they would love Hardy's rock and metal stuff.
Wait in the truck is what he said to her and also what she did for him. She waited for him in his truck. Crazy. Great song
This is what country music used to be about. A story that invokes an emotional response, even after the first listen. More than that, it is country because out here we have to solve our own problems. There is a Judge under my seat as well.
I am SO glad you’re finally doing Hardy!!!!
A Rock, Sold Out, and The Mockingbird And The Crow are definitely ones to look at next.
Oh. My. Gosh. Definitely one of your Best Reactions! What an incredible song and video! 💜💜
Thank you .. I did go listen to more Hardy
“Sold out” is one of the best songs.
1S1K.. One shot, one kill.
by their reaction, they seemed to know that.
All I keep in mine is 3" mag OOO Buckshot.
This is a true story. The man did 20 years and when he got out she still had his truck. They got married, had children, are living in Alabama and he works on the road with Hardy.
That I did not know. I learned something today
Where'd you hear that? Hardy himself said the song came from him and a friend discussing what they would do if someone attacked their fiancés.
That is total BS. HARDY has talked about when he and his cowriters wrote the song. It was going to be about what would they do if somebody messed with one of their girls in a bar one night and it morphed into this.
I'll take "things that never happened" for 600 alex.
His type of " JUSTICE " should NEVER be punished PERIOD!!!!!!!
Hardy was the collab Beartooth did for "Better Me" Hardy is also a huge metal head
Also the song Hardy did with the lead singer of A Day To Remember was good. I was surprised when I first heard it.
@@durky4891 I believe he also did uncredited vocals on Bilmuri's Corn-Fed Yetis
There is actually a drum cam video of Bilmuri performing the song with Hardy and Knox. Just found it.
This song does a great job at jerkin a tear and within the next 10-20 seconds making everything better again lmao.
Hardy's character was absolutely an angel, an AVENGING angel
People often forget that Angels are messengers of God. And God's love is sometimes tough love...
Any woman who is married to a good man knows what it means when he tells her to wait in the truck. These men are complete protectors.
I disagree. No he should not spend the rest of his life in prison. Absolutely not.
But it is all the more meaningful because he knew what was right to do even though it meant he would spend the rest of his life in prison. Another measurement of doing the right thing is what it costs you to do it.
Sometimes the right thing may be viewed as wrong. No one should ever hurt another person, but if they do, they should expect some retribution.
He didn't mean rightfully so about spending time in jail ... he meant it about killing they guy
@@galerios1violence isn’t always the answer, but when it is, it’s the ONLY answer. Stay real, king.
as a southern man i love seeing people listening and liking country
..."judge under the seat..." has a special meaning. The gun he used is LITERALLY CALLED a "Judge". An absolutely, powerful awesome song. Everyone can relate.😅
We country boy's love our wemon starting with our mother and sister's and it keeps going .
Ahh country. My first love. This is some good shit
He was likely too young to protect his mother, but not this woman….
wow! I haven't heard this before, and I will have to hear it at least once more to hear everything..
3:54 that moment is priceless
I’m not a country fan but this song got me. Fan of Hardy for sure.. looking forward to more reactions from yall on his music
Listen to anything made by Hardy, Morgan Wallen, Ernest, Chris Stapleton and you will continue to like country.
Don’t forget Luke Combs
I found this song last night, sent it to my wife who lives for county music. Her reply was "that's some heavy stuff"
He gave up his freedom so another human being can finally live free. Priceless!
Yup, what a dummy.
One of those songs that gives me chills the whole time.
That line "smokin one of HIS cigarettes.." made the song...
Absolutely love this song! It’s so powerful and hits hard! Big Hardy fan, especially his harder sounding music and love love Lainey’s voice!
Few people notice she's driving his truck at the end. It's beautiful
Oh my God the way this song hit me was unexpected. Thank you for exposing me to this
And remember if you don't like Southern justice, you might be the one who was judged by the judge under the seat.
Lmao. Enjoy prison.
I loved your reaction to the line about a judge under the seat. I kinda thought that you know exactly what a Judge is.
She’s still waiting in the truck!
It was so interesting watching the both of you react exactly the same way at the same time. Great reaction video.
He was still in jail after 5 years and I live in Texas and that psychopath would be thrown under the jail
@@franquil85connyou've had multiple posts on this video saying the same thing. Seems really odd that you have so much animosity for a song of a fictitious story.
@@maynarddrivesfast804 it's the fact that people think it's a good thing that the dude in the song went off and murdered someone. He got put in prison and had his truck stolen by some hussy. Not worth ruining your life for some random broad.
Love yall's reaction. Thank you for showing the human side of a situation like this! Great song....
I was a victim of DV for several years. I enlisted in the Army to get away and be safe. Then I became a police officer, and helped women who were victims. It felt really good to put cuffs on the abusers.
Real Country does not wanna play games.
Your reaction is my favorite of all the reactions I’ve seen of all I’ve seen!!!!!!! You got everything that was going on, right down to her driving off in his truck. Great reaction!!!!!
21 pilots overcompensate
still rewatching, yalls reaction are so strong!!! She was a prisoner for so long while he was free before he found her, he gave up his freedom willingly for her to be free now while he's a prisoner. I got mixed feelings personally about this but daaannnnngggggg as someone trying to heal I wish someone saved me this way. 35 and STILL terrified of my abuser from 11 years old. so much so that I can't leave my apartment (He lives mere BLOCKS from me right now, I just can't talk about it legally rn since video evidence from then came to light a couple of years ago, which revictimizes me even more so) (ooofffff not a good look to trauma dump but sometimes you bottle it up so long you HAVE to tell someone or you might do something stupid or something you'll regret.) God Bless, thank you for being sensitive to the issues sung about in this song, it means more to the world than you realize, especially for those who aren't ready to even utter a word or even type it out.
Lainey Wilson got her huge start on Yellowstone, she's amazing! She does tons of duets!
Love this song im glad u guys got onto this song
I did not think I would see this video on this channel!!! F*cking love you guys!!!!! Awesome
Yes! We know what wait means. Thank God for these men
I love this song I know every word to it
Never seen you guys before but this has to be the best reaction to this video I have seen! Love it!
