    Hi! I want to ask how safe it is to use in home environment. If it is flammable how to use oven for backing and sublimation! Please give the safety usage tips while coating. Thanks

    Has anyone tried these products on metal tumblers vs a flat surface? I am trying to see if it is more cost effective than buying cups with sublimation coating already on them. If so, would I still print on sublimation paper then tape and shrink wrap as normal before placing in the oven?

      Hi... Yes you can use a glazed mug however hand spraying mugs can be difficult as you have to go up and down and spin the mug at the same time so it takes some practice Just FYI

    Does this make a regular Stainless Steel Tumbler a Sublimation Tumbler?

    • @peterswain7494
      @peterswain7494 2 года назад

      There is no reason you couldn't make Stainless Steel Tumblers sublimatable. I will warn you that evenly spraying onto a cylinder can be tricky to get a perfect even coating similar to the ones you buy from commercially sprayed products.

      Texprint HD Jetstream F35

      @@SoleJuice I'm trying this on slates later do you have to cure or can you just leave them settle overnight. I'll be using my heat press to cure if I have too. Any advice please?!

    • @PaulHirst2
      @PaulHirst2 3 года назад

      @@ollieprints Hi... No you need to cure ... The way to do slates just to make sure you are doing it correctly, is to spray the white down first then leave for a minute or so then spray the clear (blue can) on top whilst the white is still wet. You then cure both coatings at the same time. The simple way with the slates if you do not have an oven is to lay them on the heat press and swing the platen over the top about an inch or so away and cure that way. Hope that helps...

    Do you know what time / temp I would use in an oven if I'm trying to sub on an object that is not flat; and cannot use a heat press to set the image?

    • @superfastpod9320
      @superfastpod9320 4 года назад

      I think you mean using the 3D vacuum bags in an oven To be honest we have never tried any products using the bag system so cannot really indicate times. I also assume you are asking what time and temp should be to sublimate the image not to set the coating ? The times to set the coating should be the same not sure on times and temps for sublimating the product as I dont know what it is

    • @joedejong864
      @joedejong864 4 года назад

      @@superfastpod9320 I'm trying to sublimate onto glass and metal, but the items are not flat. Jars for instance. Yes, since you use an oven for setting the coating that step is the same. I also need to set the image in the oven because of the shape. I don't have vacuum bags. I tried using 350 degrees for 15 minutes and had decent results. I believe the flaw was due to me not getting an even coat of the Subliglaze.

      It’s $45 a can in Canada. Not sure the price is worth the headache to be honest. Maybe it’s worth it if there were unique items you couldn’t buy from a supplier or on amazon etc. It’s way too expensive. I do hope the price lowers in the future. We’ll never have to buy from Alibaba again! 😝

    • @superfastpod9320
      @superfastpod9320 4 года назад

      To be honest some metals work without it some don't there are so many to chose from its hard to give a definitive list. I would try without and if you are happy with results go from there if not try adhesion promoter. ALWAYS make sure the surface of the metal is free from any grease or oil and also make sure there is not already a coating on it I have seen people try to coat aluminium that already has a coating on it

      Sole Juice ty for the fast reply! Could I use the white based coating for glass instead of the translucent? Or should I spray paint it white and use the correct spray for glass. I’m trying to get my glass a solid white all the way around so I can wrap it with a picture. Also should I shrink wrap the wine glass before curation or should I just pop it in the oven without the shrink wrap?

    • @SoleJuice
      @SoleJuice  4 года назад +1

      @@bLACKQT20 HI.... Yes if you are looking to print on the outside you would use an opaque white not the translucent. Normally when doing this on flat objects you spray the white down first leave it a couple of minutes and then spray the clear on ( wet on wet ) before curing. To do this on a vertical mug or glass is going to be difficult but hey everything is worth a shot :-) If you have a white base coat already that can take the heat of sublimation you can try that method and cure the white first. Its a case of if the white can take the heat without going brown. I would cure the glass first before wrapping. Just FYI here I am advising from logic this is not something I have done before just FYI :-)

    Hi. What would be your recommendation to coat aluminium on both sides for double sided sublimation?

    • @SoleJuice

      You would use the adhesion promoter and the clear coating the one with the blue top

    • @exxplorrer
      @exxplorrer 4 года назад

      @@SoleJuice Could you please explain the process of coating both sides? is it ok to coat one side with a white base coat and then clear sublimation coat and then bake in the oven and then repeat it for the other side?

    • @superfastpod9320
      @superfastpod9320 4 года назад

      Im assuming that one size of the aluminium already has white on it ? If so then I would coat the white side with the clear and then cure in the oven. Once cooled I would then apply the white opaque first and then spray the clear on top of that. You would spray the clear on top of the white whilst still wet you don't have to cure the white before applying the clear.
      When it comes to sublimating the actual piece itself I assume you would put the metal between both front and back transfer with a pad on the top and then press both sides at the same time. It would make sense that the metal is thin enough to carry the heat and sublimate evenly.
      Hope that helps
