Good glory I am glad I am not the only one doing this crap iGoing outside to throw something away got distracted and then came in to a burnt pan I have had to throw out many many pans!
Hello Jennifer, Bentley is so adorable. Wow! Keep baking soda near your stove will put out grease fire, it works I found out and glad I remembered, heard it somewhere. Love all the yarns and great idea on the wrapping of 🎁 I will be doing that with my specialty yarns that I can’t work with. I would have never thought of that. Love this video, thanks for sharing! Have a wonderful day! ❤🤗
Heres a suggestion for you....when you put your clothes in a machine set your microwave timer to when it needs attention . The reason this works for me is because i have to get up and go to the microwave to turn the annoying beeping off then i remember why i set the annoying beeping....and i go tend to my laundry. It works every time, for me at least.
There is probably a zillion things i want to make and i probably won't live long enough to make thrm all. ...lol ( I'm 67 now) . On top of crochet of all types., from doilies to afghans, next comes loads upon loads of counted cross stich kits and patterns ( i have all of the solid colors of DMC floss) then i have also wanted to learn how to drop spindle spin also. I have interests in sewing, embroidery and even do a bit of beading. If all that wasn't enough, i dabble in learning to do watercolor! My mind is always busy creating!! It drives me bonkers!!
I love seeing what's in other people's yarn stash. I used to forget laundry in the wash and/or dryer all the time. The last time we had to get new washer and dryer, my husband got an awesome deal on a fancy set. With an app. they send a message to my phone letting me know the washer is done. Love it!! I'm with you on Ice Yarns. I never know if I will like the feel of the yarn. The magic glitz is too rough for me. Of course, it might be worth a try to run them through the Addi. I am starting to organize my yarns by content. All the cotton together, all the cotton blends together, etc. Before they were together by where I purchased them from. That really wasn't me organizing. That's just how they came home and so that's how they got stored. My husband found an app. I think it's more for shops but I'm using it to organize my yarn. It's called Smart inventory. Anyway, I can scan the barcodes on the yarn and then input the information? And I have things grouped by brand and by content and up by size. The best part of this app is that if I find a good deal on yarn, I can scan the barcode with my phone and find out how much of this yarn I already have and in what colors.
Ohh you peaked my interest I need to check out smart inventory. Thank you for sharing. Sounds like something that can be used for different ways to keep inventory of what you own. My hubby has a library of books that he has wanted to inventory to prevent duplicate purchases. Thank you...💜🩵
I'm in the same "boat"=I'd love to see videos of you going through your yarn bins/totes! Not even necessarily making swatches or anything, just seeing what ya have 😍😁😎. The rainbow 🌈 yarn you talked about having higher to your left, and Ice yarn just your stash. It's fun & funny that I'm not the only one who thinks "Where'd THIS come from!?"
Love the new hair colors. Soooo pretty! I love your idea of a “What’s in the Bucket” series. I can hear the jingle! 😅 Doesn’t have to be a weekly thing, just a whenever thing.
I think your on to something!!!!! Lol!! I think your audience truly loves yarn. Even found yarn that you forget you have and the inspiration that can be drawn from that for all.
I love this possible new series! I feel like there are so many treasures in my stash, also. I'm about to rework my yarn. I think I'm going to organize it by by yarn fiber first, then weight. Realistically, I find something I want to make first, then go search for the yarn. I would love to help you name this series but there's only one thing that rhymes with 'bucket.' 🤣😜 So, maybe we can just call them 'tubs' and you can call this series, "Tubby Time with Jen!" 🛀 Cu in the next! 😊👍🧶
Good afternoon Jen I cannot wait to watch this deep dive into your yarn stash? No it's going to be to see all of the amazing yarn you pull out of your urine bins!😅
I have gotten as far as moving all my cotton and cotton blend in one clear tote. The rest of my yarns are spread between clear zipper bags and clear totes around my apartment. And I am glad I am not the only one who gets excitement out of rediscovering yarns that were bought but forgotten. As for laundry, I ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS start laundry then get sidetracked with a million other things!
I recently organized my yarn this way: Cotton is separated as I don’t have a lot. I have my 3 and 4 weight solids all together in rainbow order: pink, red, orange, yellow, blue, green, purple, violet. I then have the variegated in another area by like shades. I also do not have a lot of bulky yarns, but those and my blanket yarns are all together in one other place as well. I’m much more at ease when I see my yarn now. Good luck!
Love this, the yarn stash and just chatting! Love having my early morning coffee and crocheting with you before I get the grand kiddo up and off to school! I haven’t ordered ice yarns yet but like looking… Thryss in Stitches did a video on navigating, ordering ice yarns just a while ago. Don’t know if it would be help to you or even if you are interested in ice yarn again. Thanks for all you do, wishing you and your family a very blessed day❤
If you decide to categorize, to make that chore easier, you could use the notes on your phone and just speak it into the phone and then send it to your printer. I need to do my yarn room too, I have three walls of yarn and an area stacked with boxes it came in, because I don't know where to put it, yep I may have a problem, nah, I just love yarn!!♥
I store all my cotton yarn together. I store the cake yarn together. The rest is kind of by type & color. Use sticky notes on your binds, easy to replace. Just do as you go. No rush.
Great video! I organize by color in tubs but keep the cottons together in their own tub. I did inherit yarns from older family and many were leftovers from when they made my children baby items. Those are kept separate and then I use them to make my grandchildren items and gift the parents their original baby things, all made from the same yarns.
I put all of my cottons together by color. Then all of my acrylic by color and weight. My cakes go on the same shelf but all 1 color in 1 place. The Bernat blanket yarn is all by color
❤Love seeing your yarn! And…a drop spindle is so much fun, and portable. Fiber festivals are coming up in the next few months, you should go! Lots of spinning going on there along with the beautiful yarns! Please show us what spindle you purchased…when you get it…can you tell I’m excited for you?! Have fun!😊
Love all that you do. I would suggest sorting your yarn by brand, as you mentioned, with your work, this would make things easier for your videos. Label the shelf with brand, then perhaps sort by color within that brand. Keep up the great work!! Hugs
OMG! I’m terrible at forgetting about laundry too. I even have the sound turned on the let me know the load is finished and I get sidetracked and never make it to the machine to switch loads. Washing machines and dryers need to text to remind us. 😂🤣 18:41 I put cakes, skeins, donuts and hanks together with like formats. Within that I put same colors together. If I had mine in storage containers I would label them or at least do an inventory on my computer that has a location of each item. I really want some shelves that I can put my yarn in sealed containers so that I can keep an accurate inventory of what I have. Yes, the initial set up of an inventory will take time but it would make things so much easier to maintain.
Hi Jennifer, You should take all your Premier yarn and do your shells Premier shelves. And then get a shelf and do your Mary Maxim Shelf. Then get a shelf and do nothing but your wool yarn. And then any of the other yarn that you have make another Shelf with that yarn then every shelf that you have label that shelf then the shelf that you have a door on it and then the ones that you put in that shelf with the door then label that door what's in that inside that door . YA'LL FRIEND NANETTE FROM TEXAS ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Yes, please share more of what's in the buckets. I organize my yarn by fibre. Most of my acrylic is worsted, where most of my other fibres are sport or fingering or lace.
I have so much yarn that l forget what I have it’s in the cubes on the wall it’s in storage cubes I got from qvc it’s in the closet in bags and more bags on the floor I I can’t crochet fast enough raven is back on the channel I watch her looking forward to seeing what you have😍
What a fun video. It’s fun to see how others stash their stash.. 🧶🧶🧶🧶 right now I have no rhyme or reason for my yarn. It annoys me for a time and then I forget to go back and do something about it. 🙄. Out of sight out of mind. Love your hair. 💜💕
Definitely would love to see more of these videos. I can definitely relate to finding yarn I forgot. Just yesterday I found 2 weight premire yarn. I don't do 2 weight. I tolerate 3 weight! I like 4 and 5. I may have bought it for doilies which I never made. I left a pot on my stove on and went out! Came home to a burned pot but thankfully no fire. I can definetely relate to this video. Lots of fun.
I love seeing your hidden treasures! 😊 I've got to go through my jumbled mess, sort and organize today. I think I know what's there, but maybe I'll be surprised as well. 😮
You hair is flipping great! I don't care that I am old, if I could wear bright colors in my hair to work I would totally dye it like yours! Unfortunately I am in security and they won't let me..... :(
You can make time to do your yarn room and make yourself the way you want to do them where you don't have an avalanche again I never knew I had this yard or I never knew I purchased this yarn then you can make really nice- that look really nice on you
You are looking good Jennifer looks like your weight loss is doing wonderful on you!! And so glad it is making you healthy. Sometimes my ADHD drives me nuts. Hope your ankle is doing well. As I text you mine is throbbing. So swollen. Was told for every hour on your foot do half hour up. Love some of that yarn stash. Just found some I totally forgot about. It was like getting new yarn all over again.
I can relate to you on several levels. With the laundry, my husband got tired of wrinkling shirts, he started doing the laundry. My yarn is a mess as well. I need to just spend a weekend or two organizing it.
Post-It makes a fully 'stickied' 4x6 sheet. It sticks well and removes fairly easily. It's great for labeling the buckets. Just change the label as you use or move the yarn.
Great idea for a new series! Sounds like a treasure hunt to me! I have a drop spindle somewhere from when I was a Girl Scout leader and we went to a sheep farm and carded and spun yarn with a drop spindle. I totally forgot about that! Maybe I'll dig it out and try it again 😂.
Put in transparent bucket, slap 8 1/2 x 11 stating type of yarn (acrylic?) Facing out on side, so you will know at a glance fiber and colors. All visible. I don't have that much, hope you find the system you like. Congratulations on the spinning endeavor!
Good Morning Jenn that was so much fun looking at a part of your yarn stash I would enjoy seeing more if you are willing to share more. I hope you have a wonderful day
Jen, I agree that I hate the Ice Yarns website. It is very clunky and hard to navigate but they have some truly beautiful yarns. My mom has started to buy yarn from Temu. As i type this I am working on a rainbow colored shawl from some of their yarn. The only thing is make sure you order enough for what your making because there is no guarantee that they will ever have it in stock again. I would love to see more deep dives into your stash of yarns.
Makes me want to order immediately! Unfortunately on a strict yarn diet! Love all that you bought. ❤I put in my cart right away and then sort through. Type in the number. When the page loads scroll down for all the colors
Hi Jen, i thought i have a friend with a llama and alpaca farm, I’ve been knitting for her for a long time time. So i decided to to try a drop spindle and made one ball and my hand hurt so much I couldn’t even knit it up ,lol. So no more spinning for me 😁
I would make a tub for each brand and also do another tub for acrylic or cotton. For example, I would have two tubs... One is Premier Yarn/ Cotton and the other Premier Yarn/ acrylic. That way you can search for a brand and a type of yarn. I would leave the packs in the correct bucket and that way you can see them there too and you can mix and match anything you want by fiber and brand. Labeling the tubs would be awesome.
As far as yarn organization- I’m also a mess still living in a hotel but I do generally try to keep like yarns together. So yes- I have a huge bag full of cotton. Though I recently went ham on the Hobby Lobby “I Love This Cotton” and that’s still in two large Hobby Lobby bags with most of the rest of what I bought and haven’t used but in general I have most of my cotton from all brands stored together. I have a couple of totes that’s all blanket and chenille yarns. I’m a variegated yarn gal like you so most of my single color acrylic is in two drawers. I have most mandala cakes stored together (I will say on this front I don’t have the different styles split up) and I buy a lot fewer Caron cakes since you mostly only get them from Michael’s and Michael’s doesn’t have as good of coupons anymore but then my Caron cakes are kind of all over the place- but I have some cotton ones in with my cotton and I think I have some of the acrylic cakes stored with like sugar wheel acrylic or any other random cakes. LYS yarn I mostly keep seperated and I bought up tons of the hand dyed K&C and Panorama yarns during the big clearance sale but happened to buy a storage tub at the same sale so those are in that. Oh and I have a few bags of dollar tree Just Yarn and my Just Chenille is technically mixed with that though maybe should be over in the chenille bin. So I try. And I also forget what I have because a lot of this is all piled up in a closet and in literal shopping bags but it does help because if I’m wanting to make a cotton project or chenille amigurumi or recently was feeling like playing with some mandala- I still may have to dig a bit but at least I have a general idea and I just had the experience of discovering a bunch of cotton yarns I didn’t know I even had (in fact I apparently keep buying that rainbow shade of the sugar wheel cotton so I’d bought some and then was like “Wait I already had four more?!” 😂). I know you are similar in the whole knowing where things are in the chaos but you have far more yarn than me- and I have more than you’d imagine given my circumstances lol- and I can’t keep up with what I’ve bought. So it does help to keep similar styles or types of yarns together. But that’s also assuming your mind kind of works like mine where it’s less about having a specific project in mind when you buy yarn or buying yarn for projects (I do occasionally but it’s rarer) and more about “today I feel like making something with… XYZ yarn” having like yarns together means when I decide “Let’s play with mandala” I’m going to go discover a zillion mandalas I didn’t even know I had. Or I found all that cotton when I was feeling like making washcloths. Hope that helps. I feel like some variation might work for you at least for awhile. I think that’s an adhd brain thing too- I find I need to change up my organization styles every so often. So what did work just stops.
I store yarn by weight and fibre content. If you need it by brand, you could divide the buckets and put each brand in its own "compartment " in the bucket. Cardboard works as a divider. Just a suggestion 😊
What in the bucket? Wednesday!!! Love the idea!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Yes I love that!! Beautiful yarn!!
Love what's in the bucket?! Those are some beautiful yarns! Look forward to seeing what you make with them.😊❤
I enjoyed this video of you going through your buckets of and finding surprises. I like yarn hauls because it’s fun to see what others choose. 🧶💜🙏🏻
I am 41 years old and you have inspired me to dye my hair blue!
Yay
Isn't her hair beautiful this morning! 69 and contemplating blue streak
Good glory I am glad I am not the only one doing this crap iGoing outside to throw something away got distracted and then came in to a burnt pan I have had to throw out many many pans!

Hiding yarn in buckets! Yes traveling to see people's yarn stashes.😮😅❤❤❤❤
Making labels isn’t time consuming- what a good idea
Lovely lot of yarns, I like the rainbow 🌈 colours and the blue /purple 🙂
I love finding stuff in my totes. It's like treasure hunting and striking gold.

Hi Jen, you have some beautiful yarn. Especially love the glitz! It's gorgeous!. Mandy uk 🇬🇧 xxx😊
I think your on to something!!!!! Lol!! I think your audience truly loves yarn. Even found yarn that you forget you have and the inspiration that can be drawn from that for all.
I love your purple hair, and the pink would be so cute as painted on high lights on that gorgeous purple. The pink and purple is so cute on you!
Yes i love this video so yes i would watch these videos ,i watch all your videos, love u Jen God Bless.❤.

Love the purple in your hair. LOL You said oh a yarn swap, no, I dont like yarn swaps. 😂
I love ice yarns. I put things in my cart as soon as i see it and then go through the cart later.
It's like shopping your closet! "Shop my stash" time lol thats fun!
Congratulations on getting sucked into spinning! LOL! I love spinning and started with a drop spindle 2 years ago. Enjoy your new hobby.
I love seeing what yarn is stored in tubs. Such beautiful color yarns are hidden then it’s like finding treasure. Have a great day.🧶🧶🧶

i love your idea, seeing yarn stash, i really love your video ideas
I totally want to learn to spin too. My parents bought me a spinning wheel years ago!

Hi Jennifer,
You should take all your Premier yarn and do your shells Premier shelves.

Good morning Jen ♥️
Yes, please share more of what's in the buckets. I organize my yarn by fibre. Most of my acrylic is worsted, where most of my other fibres are sport or fingering or lace.
A label maker is a great idea, you can label the edge of your shelves, like by weight, and or type like acrylic, cotton, mixed etc
I have so much yarn that l forget what I have it’s in the cubes on the wall it’s in storage cubes I got from qvc it’s in the closet in bags and more bags on the floor I I can’t crochet fast enough raven is back on the channel I watch her looking forward to seeing what you have😍

I ADORE Chevyrelle ❤
OMG! It sounds like I am listening to myself!
Ooo, virtual tours! We need touchavision!
Yesss I would love to see a video showcasing all of your yarn! (I love seeing other peoples stashes!)
The secret yarnery uses ice yarn a lot. She's originally from Canada but moved to Kenya decades ago. She loves bright colors also.
I enjoyed seeing your stash. I’ve always wondered what podcasters have too. Your hair is so cute.
Good morning sunshine ☕️🧶😊
Good morning!
Good morning Jen, you could put your yarn in groups of the brand, type weight, and color.

Todays video was fun watching! You are always entertaining but watching you rediscover 'lost' yarn was fun!!! Have a great day, Sweet Lady!
I'm the same with the ADHD and laundry 😂😂 love this video ❤
Good morning Jennifer! I found yarn I had forgotten I bought. I was so excited. I am making a shawl. ☕🧶🦋
Neat people never know the thrill of discovery
You are looking good Jennifer looks like your weight loss is doing wonderful on you!! And so glad it is making you healthy. Sometimes my ADHD drives me nuts. Hope your ankle is doing well. I have some Ice Yarns I bought a few years back and I've never done anything with them. Now you got me thinking! 😊
I love seeing your yarn stash!! Share more please!
Love the idea of what's in the bucket. I haven't tried many yarns. But excited to see what you have.
I can relate to you on several levels. With the laundry, my husband got tired of wrinkling shirts, he started doing the laundry. My yarn is a mess as well. I need to just spend a weekend or two organizing it.
Love the ice yarn color you have make a shawl or vest for Spring.
loving your hair today! such a cute look! so fun watching you check out your stash!
BTW, thanks for the laundry story: I left my washing in the machine just like you did! Aargh! 😂
Post-It makes a fully 'stickied' 4x6 sheet. It sticks well and removes fairly easily. It's great for labeling the buckets. Just change the label as you use or move the yarn.

The only thing is make sure you order enough for what your making because there is no guarantee that they will ever have it in stock again. I would love to see more deep dives into your stash of yarns.
That purple, real yarn looks so pretty.

Welcome to the sh*t show, yes I watch her as well. Oh to have the patience to knit like her. Love your hair. ❤
Loving your yarn rediscovery!
I’m not sure what this video was about, but I watched it to the end so I must’ve enjoyed it😂
Makes me want to order immediately! Unfortunately on a strict yarn diet! Love all that you bought. ❤I put
in my cart right away and then sort through. Type in the number. When the page loads scroll down for all the colors
I can relate!! I have adhd and im in my late 40s. An it gets worse!! I just went back on medication it’s helping !!
Hi Jen, i thought i have a friend with a llama and alpaca farm, I’ve been knitting for her for a long time time. So i decided to to try a drop spindle and made one ball and my hand hurt so much I couldn’t even knit it up ,lol. So no more spinning for me 😁
Bin Dives for sure! It's fun finding yarns we forgot about. And yarn spinning sounds amazing. Can't wait to see what you create ❤
Afternoon jen love the idea of what's in the tubs would love that to be a series. Love multi coloured yarn 😊😊
❤❤anything you do is fun❤❤
Jen I place my yarn in buckets by brand. I find it easier for me, but then i don't have all the yarn you do, lol. Blessings
I store yarn by weight and fibre content. If you need it by brand, you could divide the buckets and put each brand in its own "compartment " in the bucket. Cardboard works as a divider. Just a suggestion 😊
