Im not sure what weak engine you're using for the evaluation bar, but my stockfish 15 NNUE says that the starting position (after the opening book) is +1.36 for white already. That's plenty for an engine like stockfish 15 NNUE.
We just used browser based stockfish on chess.com. It can be weaker as we go through the games quickly and it can’t get to a very high depth, but the most important things are the plans and ideas, not just the evaluation number.
