Hi @illusive media. Would it be better to get shield block rate gems on the shield instead of max hp as a tank? max hp at t3 with 8slots = 3928hp. Whereas shield block rate would give a 17.6% extra which gives above 60% block rate without buffs. Can you kindly give me your opinion on this as I'm currently deciding if I should go max hp / BR gems. Thank you!
@@IllusiveMediaYT ah, I see. Do you find it's better one way or the other? I'm currently full stam and finding it hard to decide without knowing how much damage boost/tankiness loss that really is.
@@IllusiveMediaYT Last question---I was looking at Evasion and Shield block rate gems for hands/shield respectively. Any thoughts on those vs the flat defense gems?
Thanks for the video! I'm curious in your reasons on why you would suggest cloth over plate. Could you elaborate a bit? I understand that both will do fine survivability wise at high gs, with cloth not fairing well early game (how much gs is considered early game?). However, since both will do fine, then why not plate for that extra bit of tankiness (health buff with set buff)? Does the -20% CC reduction on the cloth set really matter that much in RvR as an initiator?
It's all personal preference. In RvR the CC reduction does help because if you jump in and get CC'd, use defiance, and get CC'd again. You want to be able to react faster afterward. Now the health will technically help with that too. Basically, if you want to do a little more damage, go cloth, and little more tankiness then go plate. Towards early game the cloth will help you do more damage to farm as well. It's just personal preference at that point.
I'm thinking of making my alt a nightcloak because I like multiple play styles to play and since getting a secondary set of hiram seems harder than just making my alt a tank. And I could just make my alt my main if I truly enjoy tanking. At what point does cloth become tanky enough to do raid vs raids or to tank dungeons? Is t1-t2 hiram cloth set viable or does it come later when you get full lunagem set up + t3+ gear?
Hey love the content. I had a question, would plate technically be better suited for a tank build? Considering that when statting for reduction for physical damage reduction you have to pick between melee damage reduction and ranged damage reduction vs magic damage reduction which covers all forms of magic damage? Or are cloth bonuses really good? Just an honest question, ive no experience with it.
Its honestly personal preference. Plate has more HP but more mana cost. Cloth has more skill dmg and decreases CC time by 20%. Plate can be a stronger early game, and I think cloth will be better late. So really its what you want to do. I showed cloth in this one and showed plate in the Skullknight one just to show the twos sides of it.
So how you you actualy play it? I am new to archage and want to play this class as my main. But how do i actualy play out in pvp. and can it pve a little?
is this class viable for leveling? i want a tanky class that can 1v1 throughout the leveling and later, im new to archeage, this class seems kinda raid focused and quite late game, so if u could recommend anything, please
@@IllusiveMediaYT thanks alot man, mind at least making a skill calculator, to show which skills should i get, as im new to the game so idk, but anyways, thanks a lot. maybe and which weapon/armor to use
You could go leather but with the defense gems you don't really need to. If you do then that would be of a more damage variant or balancing the gems of phy/magic defense.
Hey man, that guide is really nice, but i always miss the part where people decribe the class for newbies. I actually never played Archeage before and just started testing stuff out on the PTS to figure out what im going to be playing at launch. I actually miss the introduction part where people actually could tell something about the class, the role in PvE/PvP and the strenght and weakness in both, before actually digging deeper into the part you did here with the build itself. I think those videos could be way more benefitial by actually trying to tell the whole story behind the class and the idea behind it, before you start to tell people how to build it. I want to play Skullknight/Nightcloak, but i actually havent seen one single guide where people did that. So with the Start of Unchained that might be the chance for some RUclipsrs to get some peoples attention by making all-around-guides for a class and not only tell people what gear to wear and how to build. Thanks for the Guide anyway, definetely a thumbs up :)
@@IllusiveMediaYT So while leveling I should just stack magic damage? staff, and plate armor? and then at 55 swap to full cloth and defense gems, scepter and shield?
@@MaryJane-tm5ee No you level with whichever piece of gear you want to wear towards end game. So if you want to wear cloth with defense gems then choose cloth for leveling. So, I've heard a lot fo people don't go Cloth nor Plate, they choose Leather? Why would you prefer Cloth over Plate/Leather?
More magic rezist. Psych dmg u can block with shield magic dmg not + cloth = good against debuff
does it matter which constume and undergarment i choose? do all have them same effects?
so do i go with the bubble skill you said or the 1 you actually have chosen as thats the mist bubble skill?
How about shadow warrior's shadow and gruel glory sash?
I would be interested in your view of this.
I noticed you use Stam on Scepter/Shield here, but use int on those in your skullknight guide. Any reason why we should choose one or the other?
I was just showing options that you could do. Stam for more tanky and int for a little more dmg.

It's mostly the lunagems that cloth becomes tanky for physical defense. Nightcloak is more dependent on gear and that's why I say start skullknight.

Witch class would you recomend me start to level then pass to nightcloack
mindslaver is good, malediction, occultism, defense
What skill sets do you suggest I use in the early game as you level up? Because the skill sets needed for Nightcloak is not included in the level 1.
Mindslaver into skullknight early game then nightcloak end game because it depends on gesr

Stamina for intelligence
hello this skill and build is ok for archeage unchained ? or not ? thx
Yes, it says Unchained in title.

Edgewalker is a healer. So you would want completely different stats and gems. I'll be doing a healer guide soon
