SsangYong is best known for its reasonably-priced large SUVs, but now the company is taking on the fashionable compact crossover with the new Tivoli. It's cheap, well-equipped and comes with a choice of petrol or diesel engines, as well as front or four-wheel drive. It's also got plenty of room inside, so does the rest of the package impress?

For a family that doesnt have a bunch of money, this is an excellent car
+milosilic23 Off to the next SsanggYongg dealership......oh....wait
and doesn't drive a lot, considering the sub optimal mpg
yes it is
I drive the XLV dince 12k km and 15 months. Totally satisfied. A well priced composition of performance and features. After all, it provides some different style and doesn't look like all the rest of Toyota, Mitsubishi, Nissan and Isuzu. 1.6ltr Automatic amazing acceleration due to newly designed gear.
Anything South Korean.. From. Films to cars is AMAZING. ❤️
I think material quality is perfectly acceptable when you take into account just how cheap this Tivoli can be. It's certainly better than what you'll find in a Renault Captur, and that car is a lot more expensive ...
Been waiting for a review on this model. Love the shape. Another brilliant review, thanks Ginny
I wants to see also a video review about SsangYong Rexton
Having this since 2017. Man this is one strong vehicle
I'm not entirely sure why, but I actually really like it. It looks really snazzy in that red with the black roof.
Ssangyong came back with successful tivoli
I love these!!! Id take this over a Nissan Juke anyday. Them Jukes are so popular wish these get popular too
You forgot to mention the 5 year warranty. You don’t get one of those with your so called premium equivalents do you Audi, BMW, Mercedes ha ha. Still, I guess if you’re more concerned about the badge on the front of your vehicle and how soft the dash is then the price you pay won’t matter.
As always a professionaland informative test. Where do you test, is that a closed circuit?
Someone needs to tell Ginny that she always has "bags of space" at the back because she's 5 ft 1.5.
😀😀😀
At least it's a step in the right direction. Remember how ugly the other Ssangyong's were? Jesus...
+deathbastardable Hahahaha XD That "jesus" word cracked me up!
+TheCamshafter That likely has more to do with small sales volume they've managed. I've actually heard quite good things about the durability of their truck-based models, at least.
Ssangyong Rodius is the stuff of nightmares...
Yes... So ugly ughh.
Look up ssangyong actyon. Worst looking car ever :-0
you guys haven't review 2016 hyundai tucson yet ?
Same Model/colour as my wifes. on her second year of ownership and no problems yet!
How big is the glovebox? I need the big bottle test to know!
We've ordered the Elx, looks great and fully kitted out.
So much variance can be seen depending on whether the reviewer "just likes" the car. For example: Its practical because the doors open wide and so its easy to get into. It's impractical because the doors open wide and can hit the next car when you're parked in a small space...
That doesn't make sense. The fact that the doors open wide doesn't mean you have to open them wide, if you're next to a car then don't open them all the way.
You can slightly open a door that has the abilty to open wide. But you cant open a door that doesnt have the ability to do so. That was a really bad example you gave, but i get your point.
+Dr. Pepper To be clear, it was an example, I didn't intend for it to relate specifically to this video. Instead I wanted to highlight that 1 element of a car can be cast in a positive or negative light by different people even though it's the same thing. Also, whilst some car doors open wide, the aperture in the frame is such that to actually have room to get in you need to open it most of the way else there isn't the room. So it does make sense.
Ginny keeps me subscribing Carbuyer
Is there a SsangYong Spaghetti coming?
Finally she is back !b
The fact is 4WD is a bonus point and seems good
very nice car ssangyong are catching up to hyundai and kia in terms of quality and design
@samual brooks, think she meant Captur, it says Captur in the writing below the video, to see the reveiwes on the Juke & CAPTUR on mobile
Can you review the ssang yong turismo
im in love!!!
How much does it cost though?
Mahindra Xuv300
WE LOVE YOU GINNY!
+Foxtrot Oscar dead... Hahaha
+Firemarioflower yeah i know. I was laughing at his foolishness
+Firemarioflower I wish I could still see the comments you're replying to. I wonder what made you so angry :)
S I love her...
Anyone buying one of these doesn't have a golf club membership
+Boomer Rang Maybe someone frugal who loves golf.
+Talford Winstonworth Golf is overwhelmingly played by upper-middle class and upper class people, who are not exactly this car's target demographic. Pretty easy to think that one through, not sure why you had trouble tbh.
Talford Winstonworth ?
Lolz you just reminded me of a sketch with clarkson in top gear , shouting from a Megaphone my Engines bigger than yours in the golf clubs car park
Oooohhhhh ! Ginny's got her jacket on ..! ! !
The more I see this car the more I like it, I was thinking of maybe going for the fiat panda cross 4x4 or the all new Suzuki jimmy, I need something with four wheel drive as I live out in the country and winter can be a cause for concern. But this is one I’m certainly going to go and have a look at, Ssangyong never even came to mind until when watching emmerdale of all things and pollard drives a korando so I looked up the make and found this. The korando looks a good all rounder too, choices choices choices! Eni meni mini mo!!!
where are the roads where they film the reviews?
Ground clearance kitna h
How much it costs
Please do the review of the Mercedes GLC
Are they reliable?
I like this bitch

+Talford Winstonworth We like this Ginny bitch
Everyone says that about Ginny Buckley

Honda E

Madam your presentation I like it , super car
Good space pretty, we can have much fun in this car... :) :)
Oooft! She's a bit of alright!
Safety aspects ?
Abs ebd and 7 airbags including knee airbags
Car is good but you are so good
the ELX 4WD is the best one!
Best car
Why did SsangYong bother giving out golf club fitting information, who the hell would have the nerve to turn up to the golf course in this POS haha
Aww that's mean lol.
Yay! Ginny!
if it's for A to b good
Would you please add to the videos if the boot is easy to load? Noone cares for bootspace, if you can't get your stuff in.
damn, I haven't seen this car since my last trip from Korea lol
SsangYong is from Korea? I thought than was chinese
not ugly. its a good carbut they have to change that name to gain attraction
seems like they're starting to get it together. They should focus on the quality control now as their cars have reliability iissues
They most definitely went for the Kia Soul in the looks department.
The thing is Ssangyong seems to be doing it different ... reason why unlike most automakers they're downsizing not up scaling
Where is Matt?
+Gordaton I hope he didn't!
+Gordaton Yeah he is a great personality for this kind of show.
TheCamshafter
Dammit! How he could do this to us!
Well, I hope that he is happy from new work.
U seems a gentle lady.
It kinda resembles a mini

Ssangyong was once Korean brand but now belongs to Mahindra, India.
If your born in Indian family and you get adopted by Americans you become American?..........😂😂🤣
@@memberofthelegion5626 you have a point but child is always know for his adopted family not birth family plus ssangyong is subsidiary of Mahindra
3 sets of golf clubs??
That would be minus bags and trolleys.
Did a drive Test with the 1.6 petrol yesterday , it has no turbo ! in 2018 ! so no torque and you really have to floor it to get some power . Also there was a very strange whinning coming from the engine, I wonder where did they get this engine from ? The interior is very nice, loads of space in the back, the boot is ok nice that they have a detectable cover . The steering was totally numb, the cruise control does not show the speed, and the trip computer does not show instantaneous consumption . The materials were better than what I expected, but because of the 1.6 engine I think the car was not worth de 17000 euro ... maximum 15000 maybe . For 17000 you can get a low spec Seat Leon 1.4 TSI or maybe even a Golf which are far more enjoyable to drive . They should lower the price otherwise they will never sell many of these .
Ssangyong amazing, ssangyong best car for lifelong drive. Real driver men drive ssangyong. Ssangyong make other people want to drive ssangyong. Buy ssangyong. SSANGYONG!
Don't ! Just sold our 2016 1.6L Diesel Tivoli nothing but mechanical problems from day one & the company's actually ceased production at the moment (financially bankrupt)
@@ghmusic8116 I havnt bought it have I, I've recently bought a 1.6 diesel auto. (2 months back) very pleased thus far
@@ghmusic8116 and bare in mind you can buy any car, reputable or not and it be marred with issues. Even a brand new one. Most cars repay on how they are maintained and driven. Yes sometimes things go wrong but long are the days when particular brands can be defined as to be all round poor
@@AdamYorkshire89 I'm actually a long term SsangYong fan but tbh this Tivoli XLV from new has really tarnished that image now It has only 38k miles & has had all 4 glow plugs replaced at tiny mileage & the SsangYong mechanics told me this is an issue across the board with SsangYong diesels The Air con failed & had to be replaced in its first week of ownership & now in the past month the amber engine warning light's remained On the dashboard i got a diagnostics done on it turns out its turbo failure all this for a young car with so low mileage driven easy & regularly serviced at the proper time intervals TG it was under warranty Can only imagine how much all this work would've cost? Very disappointing.
Smooooker
maybe on you're area 4wd is not necessary but in my location it must..
Please advise your height.
She’s a midget. I hope you know she isn’t average height in the UK. When she reviewed the rexton it looked like she was in a bedroom
I'd just like Car Buyer and Renault to know I have no interest in buying a bloody Renault Kadjar or whatever its called - if I want one I'll buy a Quasquai - why? Because Nissan haven't bombarded me with their advert which has put me off Renault products AND watching any more Car Buyer reviews - well done folks !!
not bad for a not classy company
+Los Pollos Hermanos Because what exciting car do you drive exactly? Most people buy cars to commute, not to enjoy it, most people can't afford a 'fun' car. If it's anything below a Challanger Hellcat, a Vette, or some dune buggy, don't even try to justify it as a fun car.
***** Good to drive and fun to drive is 2 different things. Good to drive: 1.9 TDI hatchbacks. Fun to drive: Köenigsegg Agera R.
I would say anything FWD isnt fun, maybe good, but not fun... :) Maybe a tuned Golf R (there is a 600 HP tuned car on RUclips if I remember right) or a tuned Cooper S... :)
+Firemarioflower hi i do not want to be rude but tbh the Lexus LFA is one of the most beautifully engineered cars even Jeremy Clarkson loves it
ssangyong is so good!
Yeah hard plastics. I remember in th 80's the soft dash would crack and buckle after few years
looks like they share suppliers with Kia/Hyundai which ain't a bad thing
where is kia forte and hyundai santa fe
Indian Automotive Giant Mahindra took over the company
I think is a good car but the price is too high.
Mahindra XUV300 | SsangYong Tivoli
Why does she sound more like mat from carwow
Mahindra SsangYong'...
I prefer the SUV from som yung gai!
Anyone who owns one recommend them? I'm looking for a replacement car and i can get a 2015 ELX model second hand for £4500. The more I look at it the more I like it, but I'd love some honest feedback from owners!
Thx for an honest review, I think I'll give it a miss. Maybe it's just me, but I can't seem to find it within myself to forgive Korean car manufactures for "borrowing" (trying to remain polite) virtually every bit of car tech and design they've used for the best part 20 years. Yes I understand how technology spreads and how certain design styles influence others, but the blatant way in which the Korean manufactures "borrowed" tech and design styles was just a little too obvious for me to forgive so easily.
I'm not saying their cars are particularly bad, I wouldn't know never having owned one. It's simply what appears to be a serious lack of ethical business practice that is the biggest issue for me personally. Please note I'm not having a go at Koreans as people, it's the car manufactures business ethics I find somewhat dubious.
this is the real korean designer, not hyundai and kia
I hired one of these at Dublin airport as an “Astra equivalent.” It may be the same size as an Astra but that’s where the equivalence ends. This is the least comfortable car I’ve driven in over 35 years. As soon as you get out of town and off the motorway, driving becomes horrific. The car bucks and bounces over every bump. If you want a cheap car, get a Dacia!
Looks like a land rover
where is rebecca .??
+Hardiansyah Putra On Telegraph Cars
don't say you don't know what those tapes on the back seat for, there are dealership provided you the vehicle you can ask before you make such a silly comment.
She said she wasn't sure how useful they would be, not what they were. You should think before you make such a silly comment.
Then try it out before you say you not sure its not rocket science. We come to review to seek answers not to look for problems to solve. Its my question not only to the host but also the director producer
Is it korean's or india's
티볼리마니아 india, ssangyong was purchased by an indian auto company named mahindra which is an suv and utility vehicle maker, ssangyong was earlier korean now its indian.
뱀눈이
SsangYong are 100% Korean made & designed, Anand Mahindra's Mahindra & Mahindra are their parent Co but SsangYong are an independent Korean car manufacturer Unfortunately bankrupt now
just click this clip but i dont want to see the video, just stop by to ask this... "how much did Carbuyer get for this video? WTF?!!!!!!!"
*****
niiiiiice!!! this is the quality you got from this channel nowadays. =)
***** also this is the kind of people who are on the internet nowadays... pity... you look like a moron mate. =)
Sanyong not at all korean co.
Its now indian and owned by Mahindra & Mahindra group
It still stays a Korean origin.......😂😂🤣
Was Their bankrupt now & have ceased production.
The HDMI socket is really useless
SSangyong is a Korean brand that specialises in making some of the most hideous vehicles ever, that were never sold in huge numbers because they were so ugly. They've improved a bit. The end.
TIVOLI (Read in reverse "I LOVE IT" ). It is SsangYong's first new model under Mahindra & Mahindra ownership.
SsangYong Motor Company, is the fourth largest South Korean-based automobile manufacturer. It is a subsidiary of Indian multinational Mahindra & Mahindra.
Looks a bit like a Tartan Prancer.
Yes but I can't believe I'm saying this is that it's better than it. Lol I don't even think that prancer is real lol. And it shouldn't be
The Prancer isn't real- it's the car in the newer "Vacation" movie! lol
godfatherNYC Ik I saw on the Vacation trailer. I also saw a video about the prance and it's so pointless isn't it lol?
+James Gordon Yeah! The car was one of the funnier parts of the movie really, which overall was so-so.
+godfatherNYC I know 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😆😆😆😆😊
Like for a nice day..!!
Is it just me or there isn't enough sunlight
Welcome to Britain
if there's a prize for ugliness Ssang Yong will win it every time all the time
dashboard looks like a cheap sort of nissan interior. Which is better than expected, but still miserable.
The screen is dirty
Dacia Duster is a better choice!
Ssangyong is an Indian brand
It's a Korean brand with Mahindra ownership which is just like Land rover is under Tata ownership. If the name Ssangyong completely disappears and all of those vehicles come out with Mahindra badges, it will be approved as 100% Indian brand :)
Rahul mahindra has just 51% share. It's completely independent as decisions made by Korean directors
@@SK-do4jq Tivoli is coming with Mahindra Badge
So much more that what you'd expect from A SsanggYongg that you think it's brilliant!
But will it collapse to pieces in 3-5 years time?
Anyway - this illustrates how doable is nowadays to build 'normal. cars. So many bits and bobs to buy from other companies and put them together to make yet another white goods car...
Maybe the interior can, but the drive train is pretty strong, just as the level of mainstream brands.
