My heart almost stopped seeing this. I had this on an RCA remaster with the pines and the fountains when I was a kid. Best Roman Carnival ever.Thank you. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍. Made my day.
I have a RCA Germany remaster where they crammed the Berlioz on with the Respighi. They had to compress the dynamic range and remove the bass to get it to fit. At least it wasn't the abomination that the fake stereo ones were.
Close mic placement adds to the Toscanini excitement, I think. Sounds great.
It was like they were experimenting around with different placements. Who ever chose and set the microphones for the recordings on this disc did a great job.
P.s. Your restoration is better than RCA's at that time. It was one of those "remastered for stereo" jobs.
Another beautiful transfer/clean up. Thanks, Glen! Hearing this, I'm sad he never recorded the Symphonie Fantastique.
I've always wondered the same. It would have been amazing. That said, I am a big fan of the Munch recording and the SACD sound is incredible.
I love Munch as well. Also the first Colin Davis, with the Concertgebouw.@@GlensAudioRestoration
