This mode has such a breakneck pace. A whole match feels like it lasts about as long as a single Control round. Saw someone call it “micro flashpoint” and that’s accurate.
To everyone commenting about wanting the mode to be in role queue: The map is in the rotation, if you play quickplay role-queue, you'll eventually get it.
You know? That's probably why I felt sharing my shields did anything. Cause in order to get the most out of it, you have to be in their team and get out without being shot to ribbons
My take on this game mode in role queue that it's pretty rough.... The few games I've been able to play, we were steam rolling the opponent back to their last point but the spawns gave them a clear advantage, they captured their last point, we captured back to it, they swapped characters after blowing ults and came back EXTREMELY fast to counter pick us, took everything back to the middle point to take the lead and we were stuck defending from that point onward and inevitably lost. It feels like winning quickly at the start actually benefits the team losing due to spawn timers and distance where they can contest back and forth and gain more swapping value and still get points towards winning the game and just overrun you on the last middle point. Not a big fan so far. Highly favors extremely mobile characters and makes those with very little who need distance/line of sight like Ana, Zen, Bap, Ashe, Widow, Hog just miserable.
I just finished a game where we took the first two points in a landslide but they held on to their last point becasue of the spawns. We went on to lose the game because they were able to rally, but at the same time I feel as though we were the clearly better team. It's almost like we have to fight on their turf for the entire match until the last point which is a bit of a toss up. But they counter picked the whole match and were able to get to the points quicker because of the spawn system.
@@JohnnyDog eyup. That's how I felt too. They can regroup and if they just win their own second point by counter picking you can't regroup fast enough and counter picking back loses you ult economy
@keatonkuuuun The thing is, I played two matches before and I had a neutral/positive view of the mode. But this last match just left such a bad taste in my mouth. It's like we were being punished for being the better team because their spawn door is right in front of the last point. It led to a moment where I was completely shocked and baffled that it was tied near the end.
@@JohnnyDog yeah the games honestly feel better if the teams are more even in skill, and almost gives bad teams such a huge chance to come back and take it from you. I even have a replay code of a game I played recently where it ended 5 to 4 and we almost lost and scores show there should have been almost no chance.
@@JohnnyDog The easy start to win is to take 1st and 2nd point and leave their spawn point alone. It'll come back to middle point and you even have another point in case you lose that one
Brawl is definitely the only good playstyle dive doesn't have enough presence on the point so the point slowly caps and there are way too many ways onto the points for poke to be able to do anything
Enemy team gaining a point straight out of their spawn is bs. Your team could be doing so much better the whole match, never getting pushed to your spawn, and it’s still gonna be 4-4 near the end. Each control point should have different score values, with the team pushing further getting more and the team getting pushed back less.
I love how this looks. Glad they gave it to us to try, not sure it's quite comp ready yet (and I mean, it's the only map so I'm sure they want to develop a couple of others before launching it - and I sincerely hope that they use the assets from the other 2CP's for this).
It seems really unfair to me. I’ve gotten it twice in qp. The other team pushes it to the one closest to our spawn having 2 points from that. We push it back to mid getting 2 points. That happens again. Then we win the middle and win the match. It didn’t feels deserved as for 4 of the 5 points we took my team had the spawn advantage.
This new game mode… is actually pretty fire. It’s constant action. A lot of game modes are twists and turns but this is just a straight line which makes team fight quicker, more fun, and also, the best part is that it’s simple to understand. Only thing I’d adjust is making with the cap take a little bit longer, OR the time in between the points to be captured longer. 1:30 minutes in between. Other than that, this mode slaps!
I dont see how a big complaint about overwatch lately is how snowball/wash or get washed/one-sided it feels. This new game mode is legitimately the most one-sided one they have ever made. Lose 2 fights in a row and its literally over. 4/10, cool looking map tho
They need to make spawns a little longer each time you die during a point, and then reset that timer on the next point. It will stop the infinite stall.
@@catsports2209 What are you talking about? No matter how well a single player plays, they have ZERO control on how quickly the enemy respawns and reaches the point. By the time it takes you to clear 4 players, the 5th is stalking long enough for the first 2 to get back and use ultimates. I've seen a single point take both teams 4 or 5 respawns to capture.

Honestly the game mode feels more like a walking simulator than push. You don't get to set up for plays/points, recontesting after a team fight isn't really possible, and the whole map is just one long corridor with no way to hide from most sightlines. It's honestly miserable to play in my opinion.
it's fun, but not for competitive for sure in my opinion :D TBH, I liked old Hanamura better even when it was kinda nightmare on attack I still had A LOT of fun, even when game was lost it was always fun and win was always deserved.
i actually completely disagree with how long games can go, trying to keep momentum and trying to win so many team fights i think it’s perfect for comp but not something i want for a “quick” play
Comparing this to 2cp is nuts. This mode moves fucking FAST. The team fights take a while because you can get back to point really fast, but the captures are super fast as well.
I think they only want to know if you like the mode before start restricting it more. I think that is a good approach, because I don't like the mode so it would be waste of time to regulate it further, but depends how other people feel ofc, not just me
@@cooller8888 I think that having consistency matters when testing. And right now there isn't one. Something that I don't like about this mode is that it feels like fights are very messy and very drawn out. But that would be different if there was only 1 player with 500+ health

Any other widow mains suffering from Venture in chat? Not only can Venture reach most/all widow high grounds, but they can also tank a full charge HEADSHOT IF THEY TIME THERE DIVE CORRECTLY! Also also, if you notice the Venture background photo shows them killing widow… why blizzard why.
Why is there a scoring system? I though it was going to be tug of war with points like in TF2. This is pretty disappointing honestly, it just feels like a different version of flashpoint with the score system.
Frankly, clash seems awful. No time limit is a recipe for disaster, and the fact that it can be detrimental to capture a point if your opponents have set up on the next point because then they can gain a point easily

The linear map is so easy to memorize compared to flashpoint maps. I have played this mode once and I feel like I already know my way around.

I played for hours yesterday and it never showed once in rotation, so I do think the role lock comments are valid

The gamemode seems to be more oriented towards brawl/rush comps from my few games in it
Rein is SO hit or miss but finally feels viable somewhere lmfao

I love how every game I played in this game mode so far always defaulted to 3 or 4 tanks and 2 or 1 support. Its a blast really.

I miss horizon, anubis and volskya man, maybe volskya a bit less but the other two were beautiful maps

ive played this map 4 times in the arcade with some friends and everytime ive played Rein and we have won in 3 minutes or less

payload/hybrid is literally the only mode in Overwatch that isn't horrible
