Nice one.. do you know if FM and DAB+ share a connector on the backside of the head unit? Or do GPS and DAB+ share one connection/cable on the head unit. Cheers.
Hi! Thank you. No I believe it are all seperate connectors but check a video of a aftermarket system like a Dasaita and you will see the back if the unit exposed. 😉
@@LaPalmeraie0032 Thx.. you're correct, it's a separate connector.. so one needs a cable adapter from that one to the usb DAB+ dongle/receiver... A Fakra (f) SMA (m) cable..🙂
hi..I bought a shark antenna, seen on RUclips from an Italian influencer who does a lot of tests on Qashqai, and on his it was fine, but in mine it was installed to replace the original stylus, which worked very well and picked up DAB very well, now with this shark one, it doesn't work at all, it loses the signal immediately, and if I go under the tunnels, it loses everything, while the original one was fine there too, and I ask you why this result? can you recommend a good shark antenna, which you know is amplified and works really well with your tests? I called the Italian influencer and he tells me he doesn't know how to explain it, but I can, because either you give certain information when you make certain videos, or it's better to stay silent, otherwise you just lead people to make mistakes ...the certain fact is that if I remount the original antenna, everything works perfectly again...we hope you have good news for an antenna you have tested that is truly excellent...thanks
Hi friend! I know… and if you are a fan of my channel you know my thoughts on this 😉 anyways… those shark fin antennas are a “scam” if you use DAB+ radio. I never managed to understand clearly the antenna layout but you lose it when removing the antenna rod… a lot of people like this Italian guy do not use DAB+ so they do not bother with it. The should however at least warn their public… I good friend of me changed his antenna successfully though by a sharkfin model from Renault with still having DAB+ reception. I lost the details but just asked him again and will keep you posted 😉
Salut Niek, ici en France la DAB n'est encore développée c'est v bien dommage car la qualite de réception sur le Qashqai avec l'antenne requin est vraiment exécrable... J'aurai préféré l'antenne fouet qui est tout de même bien meilleure, même si moins esthétique.

Hi I'm on various Nissan qashqai forums and just last week there was a topic about replacing your stock arial antenna to a schark finn antenna and the DAB reception and according to a Nissan mechanic that's on the forum all QQ models from 2014 and up have DAB reception tru antenna in back window ..... his words not mine so don't shoot the messenger 😁
Hi Robert, i think we are on the same forum 😄 and i asked the question many times without real respons and even a more doubtful reply as well. That’s why I fell back to the schemes myself and dove into it with my mod-homie tigrimang and we never really figured at the real placement other than the foot as I show in the video. More import is that the reception remains even without the classic antenna. Cheers.
Aie! That is strange though as the DAB+ antenna should be located in the antenna's foot that still is in place. Even without the antenna rod it receives the DAB without problem. What does the secret menu says? Maybe it is the antenna type that isn't ideal? Maybe the interior is covered with something that blocks or interferes with the DAB reception?
I installed a shark fin antenna and the reception was OK but lost its connection time to time so I took it off. Two years later I reinstalled the same shark fin antenna with another screw holding it. And now I have perfect connection. I don't know if it had to do with the screw (it is a little bigger and not copper coloured) or if the DAB reception in the area has improved. I bought mine for about 4€

Normally it's also situated in the antenna foot.
