    I have the Spires. Love the fit and finish. I'm the lead singer/vocalist and here are my impressions. Generally speaking, they are high-quality monitors and I much prefer them over the universal fit monitors I had previously.
    What inspires me most when I'm on stage is knowing the audience is hearing something balanced and nice. So for reassurance that this is the case, I prefer hearing much of what the audience hears. You would not want the audience to hear what the Spires give. They really do have accentuated upper mid frequencies. If I could do it over, I would pick the RSM quad for a flatter response.
    What I've chosen to do is use the EQ on my monitor mix to pull out some of the boosted frequencies. Then I can play and not worry so much.

    I got the RSM Quads for studio/live mixing and playing drums, really flat sounding in ears for studio and live environments!
    What I really love about them is their sound, lows are full and rich but not hyped, mids are super accurate and highs are very smooth, they are really flat; also they got a ton of headroom so they never ever distort. As they say, it takes some time for your ears to adapt to pro audio gear, but when you get set it's really night and day. Alclair is definitely the best, and their customer support is amazing as well. If you are looking for CIEM then pull the trigger with Alclair! Perfect fit, great sounding monitors and the really inspiring to work with!

    Talk about timing! My LiveWires from 12 years ago just went out and I’m trying to get a new set. Before watching this I already purchased the KZ ZS10s for an immediate back up so glad to hear you give it good reviews. As it turns out I think Alclair bought out LW so I’m definitely leaning towards them. I’ve narrowed it down between the studio3s and Sphere6s. Without hearing them I can’t decide which is better for me. I’m a live acoustic/bass player for small venues/churches. Would appreciate any advice. Great vid btw and amazing timing. Thanks for all WT does.

    • @AlclairAudio
      @AlclairAudio 3 года назад

      You're asking all the right questions! I'd recommend you towards the Spires - they've got a lot more headroom than the Studio3s which make them a better option for live performance no matter how big or small the venue. The Studio3s really shine as a music listening monitor although can definitely be used in live settings.

    Help! lol...Hard to determine what to buy when you can't hear them. But, this video does help give an idea where to start I think.
    I am an acoustic singer/songwriter. I play smaller venues/wine bars, etc...and I do a LOT of recording. Is there a more cost effective (i.e., cheaper) option than the studio quad, which seems to be the type of monitor I would be looking for. Something for vocals and acoustic guitar. I guess more "flatish" sounding?? ;)

    The biggest thing about in ear monitors I want to know is how they work and what you plug them into since I’ve never used them before

    • @AlclairAudio
      @AlclairAudio 3 года назад

      There's about one million ways an IEM system can be wired and run but typically in ear monitors will have to be plugged into either a wireless pack or headphone amp that gets sent an aux feed from a mixer. Or they can plug into your laptop or phone and be used as earphones - some really darn good sounding earphones.

    I'm an MD and keys player, and I run tracks during worship. Will I be happy with the RSM? I was sold on them until I heard the MD in this video talk about the spire. Do you feel the extra low end is worth the price jump? I feel more low end would muddy up the rest of the stems and instruments I'm listening to pre-mix. What do you think @alclair?

    • @bmitchellmusic

    How many drivers would you recommend for someone who only plays guitar and once in a blue moon the bass?

    • @AlclairAudio
      @AlclairAudio 3 года назад +1

      This is a great question! Ultimately, driver count doesn't quite matter as much as what the specific IEM monitor was designed for. The amount of drivers in an IEM is as descriptive as the number of ingredients in a chili recipe or the number of cylinders in a car... But I digress, for someone who plays guitar and once in a blue moon, the bass, I'd recommend the Dual XB, Tours, Spires, RevX, or ESM - completely depending on your budget!
