I’ve had Wavs for over a year now. Absolutely love them! Although I do wish they came with the aluminum case and the updated cable when I ordered them like they do now 😂😂
Nice overview of what these are. To be honest though, I don’t get the point of semi custom molded IEMs. I used to use Shure SE215 as my first pair, have tried quite a few other universal fit IEMs, and have been using 64 Audio A3e for a few years now. They all fit me really well and most give all the isolation I could want, with the customs obviously fitting better and feeling different as well as sounding much better than most affordable options, as you’d expect from a high end triple BA driver earphone. With full-on custom IEMs, an impression/scan that extends beyond the second bend in the ear canal is indispensable for getting them to sound right (if the sound comes out at an angle, it’ll hit your ear canal and be reflected which changes the sound from what it’s supposed to be). Obviously not possible with WAV’s method. Which is fine! But what are you gaining? The visual options are nice, sure. But there are plenty of universal fit IEMs that fit virtually every ear, even with a lot of drivers in them. I feel like spending the resources of only getting a custom fit for the outer part of your ear is basically useless. What do the rest of you guys think?
I have used some universal fit ones before getting wavs. They didn’t stay in my ear. I got a 4 driver wavs and the fit was much better. As a guitar player, I cant keep using my hand to readjust the fit. Then i bought a 6 driver set and redid the scans. They came out better than the first ones. Overall, the sound was better in the wavs than the universal fits. I use them a lot for worship leading and playing in my band. They provide a really good return on sound for the price.
@@VinceKBand That’s really cool to hear, thanks for sharing. =) I guess there are people who unfortunately have fit issues with universal fit IEMs. Thankfully, the worship volunteers at my church seem to be fine tho. Come to think of it, the drummer in my band has had similar issues like you. Guess in that case something like the WAVS are a great option.
I have 2 pairs. I have a dual driver and a quad driver. I must say the quad driver is a big difference. Obviously not as good as my 6 driver custom 64audio in ears. But they sound pretty dang good!! Especially when I also got the 40% off!
You’re going to like the next customs better. I’ve purchased three sets of WAVS for myself and people on my team. Across the board, the highs become unbearable at moderate volume. The excitement when you first get them wears off pretty quickly. Especially if you have something else of quality to compare them to. The fit is good, the price is right, the customer service is solid. The product is not worth it to me.
Thanks for sharing. I’ll be comparing them to another brand soon and I’ll have more experience with these to have a more in-depth discussion about the sound.
They should called their products “Universal In-ear monitors”, but not “Custom In-ear monitor” Their phone scanner app actually can’t be scanned the depth of the in-ear canal. That’s why they compensate this by using the silicon ear tips, Custom IEMs shouldn’t have ear tips or sleeve. This product is called “Universal In-ear monitors”. Don’t be mislead!
The shell that you chose is called Paua (Pah-wah) a.k.a Abalone it is used by native NZ Māori in carvings and jewellery also used for ash trays but not so much now that few people still smoke
Quick question, if you still have to use some sort of a tip on these, how are these any different than using any other IEM with tips? The tips are typically where the sound isolation problems arise from. Thanks in advance!
they fit in your ear cartilage. Really nice. For me, they're great. I play bass guitar in several groups. The dual drive and now the triple both work great. No idea about the comments with unbearable highs. Maybe they've blown the bass drivers out? Solid and work wel
So cool! Can't believe this is happening right here in the upstate. How would they stack up against a pair of $100ish headphones that wrap around the ear? Thinking of ways to protect my drummer's hearing.
A side-by-side comparison video will come soon, but I like these better for that purpose because they stay in my ear so well and block loads of sound. I move a lot when I sing and play and these don’t move or pop out at all.
Hard to believe. A single lens phone camera can only produce a 2-D image regardless of whatever filter you want to apply to it. Any Z-axis, or depth measurements are best guess. It takes much better equipment to get a true scan.
The KZ ZS10 pro are a fraction of the cost and have never let me down on tour. I buy 5 sets. Lose one ear or both, yoi have extras that challenge these drivers. Stop BS'ing with this company. 😅
Wavs is one of those company’s that use auto modelling and scanning app from Hearables 3D. Anyone with at least little professional experience would never seriously offer custom products based on that. Custom products require precision. The scans from the app are not precise as the those parts the camera does not see will be interpolated…
I see that your channel is very valuable. I would love to repost your whole channel, without changing anything, on the nice platform named Gan Jing World. If you agree with that, please let me know. Thanks!
Literally about to order. 40% off right now

how many drivers are you evaluating? I'm sure there are different tuning.
The silence on the follow-up video is deafening. I was hoping waves was good.

Love the review. Can't wait for mine to come in.
Thanks David!
Hi! do all of them have those rubber tips? can't they make them 100% acrylic like the professionals always do?
Hello. I’ve watched several of your IE videos and I started to wonder, which do you like best… The Xvive T9 or the WAVS???

are you still using these/like them? do you think they're worth the money? have you tried shure SE215? if so which one do you prefer? thank you!
Great find, thank you for sharing!
Thanks for watching
Nice! About how long was it till your order was ready? 3 weeks?
Yeah just about 3 weeks
WAV in ears, are custom In ears with earbuds? So they are not the traditional customs?
Correct

@@WorshipLeaderHangout Nice! I'll be looking forward to that video.

They required an iphone that has faceID -- it uses the lidar, that faceID uses not the normal camera.
I am on the fence using the ear tips. Anyone use Wavs going the traditional route and sending in impressions from an audiologist?
I do now! I use Ultimate Ears
WHAAAAAT!!???! WOW!! 🤯
Thank you for watching
