At 5:15 it blows my absolute mind. Like I'm a senior in highschool and ive seen literally tons of different nuerodivegent kids stim like this. I've seen it for years and it blows my mind that people think those stims are fake. Those same people who try to call someone's stim fake because they think 'faking it is causing harm' are also the people who immediately judge nuerodivegent people in real life and actually create and inflict harm. And it makes it worse for people who are beginning to unmask to actually try and unmask.

Creative Writing Prompt #53: This week we're doing worldbuilding. Monday you drew a map. Tuesday you consulted it to understand the basic needs of the people living there. Yesterday you fleshed those needs out into a framework for a cultural identity for them. Today it starts to get complicated. Institutions are weird. I define them as autonomous, self-sustaining, inorganic systems. Their job (insofar as job's an accurate descriptor) is to create the ideal conditions for their own reproduction. The institution of the state protects and provides for its subjects, so they ensure its army and treasury are provided for. To ensure they keep providing, the state sustains the conditions of desolation that guarantee crime and poverty so its subjects continue to need the state. Even if the king is overthrown, the institution will replace him with a similar one to fill the same roll. If the institution is overthrown, as long as the conditions remain, the people will reconstruct similar institutions to replace it, to fill the same roll.
Pt 2: From the government and its departments and compartments and subdivisions, to the banks, to businesses, to the church. Anything that necessitates administration and can replace individual members on its own, for the most part, constitutes an institution. Carefully consider your people, their land, needs, and their culture. What kinds of institutions do they build to meet their needs? What will their culture allow? What will they tolerate? Consider the intersection between these things. Does the king pave roads throughout his domain? The department of transit lay rail across the nation? The coal company carve rifts into the earth? Does the emperor extol a tax on grain to build reserves for the harsh winters, has a corporation polluted the river? Of culture, does the institution change the culture, or is an element of that culture powerful enough to bar the institution from action? If there are smaller indigenous cultures within a larger imperial power, how does it respond to them? It will always tolerate what does not threaten it or its interests, but sometimes the very core of a people threatens an institution. Or, sometimes they're used as scapegoats. These threads intermingle. They weave and tangle together, and it will get messy, that I promise you. But it's in that messiness that your world will start to feel alive. This has gotten them on the good side of a lot of merchant guilds, since they serve as a cheap and reliable source of entertainment, but on the bad side of a lot of bard and minstrel organizations, since they serve as competition to individual entertainers. They are also a convenient scapegoat for powerful, authoritarian states. Their outsider status wherever they go makes it easy for nationalists to turn people against them, making them the subject of violence and discrimination. In many such places they have resorted to traveling in smaller groups, in secret. They have begun to tell older stories amongst each other, of their patron god, who used to disguise himself to travel among mortals. They share these stories with more reverence than before.
The dracotaurian hunters will drop off all their food in the pile and at night it will be redistributed throughout all the families in a region and by the end of the night there will be a little bit left which is buried in the snow to preserve it and when famine happens which is almost every winter in the mountains they dig up the meat and give it to the families who don’t have food I just realized that I was trying to create a good society with a few cultural things by a that made it a lot better and ones that made it a lot worse and I accidentally created communism I’m not saying I want to live there because they believe that anyone without wings is suffering so much it’s merciful to throw them to their deaths but at least it’s better than America
The second to last TikTok is really interesting. I’m biracial and I’ve only recently realized that I struggle a lot with how I see myself. I’m very white passing, and I think it’s become ingrained to the point that I forget I’m mixed sometimes?? If that makes any sense. Any recommendations for people talking about this? oh no, i hope the visit goes well... i can relate to what you described, i have a classmate/school friend like that too. i noticed that i usually have a better mood when she's not in school and i hang out with other people, but i couldn't define why that is. it's also weird because i do like them, like i genuinely could list many reasons they're cool, but for some reason her presence clashes with my mood🤷♀️ coincidentally, my day also involved trains! i went hiking with some extended family and we took a train, it brought back some train nostalgia because i used to LOVE trains when i was a kid, my mom has videos of baby me just happy stimming at a station because a train was arriving :) today's train is a special one because this railway is almost entirely operated by children who take this as an extracurricular (there's obviously lots of adult behind the scenes supervising but the "jobs" themselves are mostly fulfilled by kids), my sister is training to be a "worker" there too. it's a leftover from Hungary's tankie times, i don't like tankies but this part is based :D

My back and joints hurt really bad and I think I’m going to talk to my mom and dad about getting screens for autismwhen he gets back(he works for a month then comes back) despite him being a republican he’s still pretty good at listening to me and convincing my mom to listen to me and get me stuff (sounded bad but I promise I have never done this for anything but things I’ve felt like helped me at the time and I’ve only used it once)

the person talking about biracial babies hit way to close but weirdly. my white mother told me I was black from an extremely young age. I grew up with that thought in my head. once I hit middle school I realized it was so much more. I had to realize that I was trying to navigate like 3 cultures at once all on my own. now in high school my race keeps playing a big issue in social interactions and I was never taught to the full extent who/what I am so all I'm ever able to say is "I'm mixed"
