729 is my favorite, followed by 751. Both remind me of my early days in music. I was learning 751 on the organ, and my piano/organ teacher played 729 as a prelude for a choir concert. I was mesmerized by it and to this day is one of my favorites.
Both my late Son Christopher FRCO and his Son Edward FRCO have played that fine musical gem and it was nice to hear Edward on Choral Evensong yesterday from Oxford.
A beautiful sounding English organ. The only thing missing was that moment we have all become so used to, being the first dramatic A major chord of the Bach following the final G major chord of either "O come all ye faithful" or of "Hark the herald angels sing...."!
Bachs music, which is baroque, is not played with fulltime legato. More pronunciation of accsended notes and light times. Also missing upbeat of last 3 16th notes.
finally a recording on youtube with more stops!! love the fuller sound ❤

It is a high point of my year when my annual opportunity to play this masterpiece presents itself.

Not Christmas without this is it?
A superb Walker organ and a wonderful performance to match. Thank you, Richard.
Jubilant indeed :) A wonderful way to start a Sunday. Thank you!
Such a familiar piece, but really brought to life. Bravo!

bach is best, truly inspiring
And so, it is ... Amen!
Wow! You can actually hear the notes by comparison to other performances with a more race car feel....
I agree, it’s a well chosen tempo. Has a great feeling of space and grandeur.
@@michaeltester5187I agree! I think that Richard has an incredible sense of musicality, something that is often lacking.
Lush. Thank you 💛
One gets really socked into the music 😀
Toetally agree with you. He really puts his sole into the performance.
It's so amazing 🙏
Beautiful!! Were you an organ scholar at King’s?
Romsey is my base while in the UK!
It’s a very nice place 😃
the sock man...

But why not wear leather loafers? red socks look a little bit clownesque...
I was going to play in my flippers, but took them off at the last minute.
Why care at all? It's the MUSIC that counts except to distracted minds...never mind...
