Bought my wife the 1.6 Cooper D All 4, 4 years ago and it's been a reliable lugger (reliable in the sense that you service it like any BMW and are aware of BMW foibles). Steering feel is nicely weighted for something with electrical power steering and not that bad to throw around, though not as composed as a clubman. Ours came loaded with HK audio and the heated seats like yours does and does the job. Much like how you had an E71 X6, our other car is my E70 X5 40d, so if we were to go to do bigger journeys, we head out in that
The awesome thing about this car is that you can easily lug 4 mountain bikes on it! The Countryman R60 and X1 E84 can accept the BMW bike rack that screws into the rear impact bar tow eyelets and comes equipped with the 7 pin from stock. add 2 bikes on the roof and you've got a practical family lugger. Things that do go on those cars, as with anything with an N47, is the timing chain and the crankshaft pulley dampener, so did the clutch and flywheel at the same time. Bought ours at 84k miles and it's now on 110k miles.
All in, it's an understated care and for those who have 2 kids and do outdoorsy things, it's quite capable. Would likely replace it for the F60 in petrol (if I'm not doing a salary sacrifice EV SUV)

I own a manual 2009 jcw clubman that I’m actually about to install and bigger intercooler in at this very moment. Love the channel and keep driving!

I cant wait for these (petrol versions) to hit rock bottom on price - ever since seeing the WRC countryman back in the day I have wanted to strip one out and use it for club motorsport - great video sir - keep up the good work

It would have been good to get your views on motorway driving in the Mini. I bought a 2013 SD version with the JCW bodykit for my wife a few months ago from a really nice guy in South Wales and drove it home to Norfolk, I achieved 61.4mpg! It's been a really easy car to drive and hasn't put a foot wrong, and although we haven't managed to achieve the same fuel figures, I wouldn't expect to on our country lanes compared to the steady speeds that you can keep on motorways, however the figures are still in excess of 50mpg. A great car with a decent amount of space.

I put down a deposit on a 1.6 Cooper S petrol at the weekend, I can't wait to get it and take it out on the road!

Got myself one of these in September, just passed my test and I have to say it’s probably the best first car option out there. Mines a countryman cooperD 2013 1.6 turbo diesel manual 4WD, only 112bhp but 270 torque so it moves off the line quick. Great spec too; heated leather seats, full sat nav screen but no sunroof so lower centre of gravity 😉

lucky you to have such a big posh first car! First cars used to be the cheapest thing available to buy and insure! Mine was a £270 dark green 3dr fiesta!

@@Hali88 not going to lie, my stepdad offered persistently to pay for my first car and he said to get something that will be good to drive and safe, we found this one near by for a decent price, it’s the cheapest thing I could get insured on.
Im also currently paying him back for the car and I’m more than halfway there! 😮‍💨😂

I’ve just bought pretty much the identical car, really nice and practical but I’m definitely getting the run flats off as it’s such a hard ride.

Cool video bro! Genuinely thinking could be a copper SD as my next car in about a year or so i might be downsizing from a zafira? Hmm got me thinking plus the mrs like minis too and that’s abit more practical than a normal mini🤷🏻‍♂️😁

I’ve got a 2017 manual petrol cooper s and always thought they should drop the cooper s name from these cars.
