I wanted metal teeth but I also wanted a contrast with the aluminium skull, so I made them from stainless steel. And then stained them.
In this series of videos I'm covering the building from scratch of a full size working Terminator T-800 robot (endoskeleton). No kits or premade parts involved, I'm going to be constructing all of it myself.

Personally I prefer the normal looking teeth but these came out looking great!! Top work! Can't wait for the next video.
Yes, it's a matter of personal preference I guess. I like the metal teeth. I'm also going for an overall worn, slightly damaged look and I think these will be a better fit with that.
@@AndysMachines you can still add the "fake enamel peeling off" look which fits with the worn out look overall and could add a pinch of realism
I always just assumed that since Terminators are infiltration units, their teeth would just be real teeth taken from the bodies of humans Skynet's forces had already dispatched.

Currently planning to build a 'half' terminator similar to the one at the end of the first movie, but I'll see how it goes. I also like the half T-600 from the start of Salvation.
Wowsers! Never underestimate what an emglishman can achieve in his shed. Great things are born of sheds.
Secondly, can we not overlook the jar of stainless threaded bar offcuts and the homemade polishing machine, made from (what looks like) an old washing machine motor. Sir , I solute you.

From 1:15 all the to 2:55 you have made 2 teeth. Cut it off the main block, cut it in half length-wise and then file the curves and radii on it.
Otherwise: amazing skills and awesome work as always!
That's actually all just one tooth, the first one I made, so I was kind of finding my way along. As I got further I tended to make them in batches of 2 or 4 of all the same shape of tooth, I used shorter bars and made the same tooth on each end to save going back and forth between lathe and mill so much. But either way they didn't take that long to make, maybe 20 minutes per tooth.

We (humans) do. Terminators are missing some of the molars at the back, and also have two pairs of additional large squarish 'teeth' at the very back of the jaw. I guess you wouldn't see any of that when they are undercover posing as a human.
