Building the Terminator EP 12 Eyes (again)

  • This was a tricky one. I'm not sure how well it comes across on camera just how small some of these parts are, but they are very fiddly to make and assemble and very easy to drop on the floor and lose forever.
    I think the result is much better than my previous attempt and I'm confident now if I can build this, then there won't be any other part of the endoskeleton I can't build.

    • @AndysMachines
      @AndysMachines  3 года назад +3

      That would actually be possible, but I'm going to hide the camera(s) in other parts of the skull where there is more space. Even though the eyes glow red, it's possible to have a camera in there and not be blinded by reflections, by pulsing the LEDs quickly and taking frames when the LED is off. I did something similar in the past using the LED itself to measure light levels (like a simple 1 pixel camera) in between flashes, to the human eye it looks like the LED is on all the time.

    The eyes and teeth really make or break the endo skull. I see many people seeming to be ok with sub-par version of these two features and I can’t really say nothing about it because I probably couldn’t do any better. However, I certainly wouldn’t be happy with those results. When I watched you previous video I did think to myself “eh those eyes are a bit off”. Amongst other things I’m a photographer, so I am quite familiar with the aperture blades in a lens and I immediately noticed the imperfections on yours. I was really quite impressed with the teeth I saw, when the part came that you put them in the kiln I was thinking to myself “oh boy, is this endo going to need to see a dentist too?” But, to my surprise your endo’s teeth are done very well and don’t draw any attention to them because they are excessively improper like other ones I have seen. So in conculsion, when I saw the card for this video I was pleasantly surprised to see you went back to remake the eyes. It was a moment in which one may feel when their favorite show does exactly what they were hoping for. I look forward to seeing more of your videos. I would love to see a completed endoskeleton in it’s entirety. It’s very obvious that your craftsman ship and attention to detail produces by far a better product than any sideshow piece. I would love to own a full size endo one day, but I have never made the purchase due to the lack of quality I see. Yours seems to be the best one I have seen so far. Straight from cyberdyne perhaps.

    • @AndysMachines
      @AndysMachines  3 года назад

      Thanks very much! Yes, some of the small details can really make or break it, and really stand out if they are wrong. I'm not actually aiming for 100% screen accuracy, just to make all the parts look right together.
